श्वापदप्रचुरत्वं च गवां चैव परिक्षयः साधूनां परिवृत्तिश् च विद्याद् अन्तगते युगे
When the age ends, wild beasts will become numerous, cows will decline, and the virtuous will withdraw.
अन्त्या मध्ये निवत्स्यन्ति मध्याश् चान्तनिवासिनः निर्ह्रीकाश् च प्रजाः सर्वा नष्टास् तत्र युगक्षये
At the end of the age, outcastes will live among the middle classes, and the middle classes among outcastes; all people will be shameless and lost.
तपोयज्ञफलानां च विक्रेतारो द्विजोत्तमाः ऋतवो विपरीताश् च भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये

सौकुमार्ये तथा रूपे रत्ने चोपक्षयं गते भविष्यन्ति युगस्यान्ते नार्यः केशैर् अलंकृताः
At the end of the age, when delicacy, beauty, and jewels have declined, women will adorn themselves only with their hair.
निर्वीर्यस्य रतिस् तत्र गृहस्थस्य भविष्यति युगान्ते समनुप्राप्ते नान्या भार्यासमा रतिः
At the end of the age, when it arrives, the householder will have pleasure only with his own wife, and not with any other.

वर्षासु परुषा वाता नीचाः शर्करवर्षिणः संदिग्धः परलोकश् च भविष्यति युगक्षये
The winds will be harsh in the rainy season, and the lowly will rain down gravel; at the end of the age, the afterlife will become uncertain.
वैश्या इव च राजन्या धनधान्योपजीविनः युगापक्रमणे पूर्वं भविष्यन्ति न बान्धवाः
The rulers will live like merchants, dependent on wealth and grain; at the beginning of the age's decline, there will be no kinship.
अप्रवृत्ताः प्रपश्यन्ति समयाः शपथास् तथा ऋणं सविनयभ्रंशं युगे क्षीणे भविष्यति
Agreements will not be kept, oaths will be broken, and debts will be repaid without respect—such will occur when the age declines.

न कश्चिद् अकविर् नाम युगान्ते समुपस्थिते नक्षत्राणि वियोगानि न कर्मस्था द्विजातयः
When the end of the age arrives, there will be no one who is not a poet; the stars will be separated, and the twice-born will not perform their duties.
चौरप्रायाश् च राजानो युगान्ते समुपस्थिते कुण्डीवृषा नैकृतिकाः सुरापा ब्रह्मवादिनः
At the end of the age, kings will be mostly thieves; those who keep cows will be deceitful, and drinkers will speak of the Veda.
अश्वमेधेन यक्ष्यन्ते युगान्ते द्विजसत्तमाः याजयिष्यन्त्य् अयाज्यांस् तु तथाभक्ष्यस्य भक्षिणः
At the end of the age, excellent twice-borns will perform horse sacrifices, and they will cause the unfit to perform sacrifices, and eat what should not be eaten.
ब्राह्मणा धनतृष्णार्ता युगान्ते समुपस्थिते भोःशब्दम् अभिधास्यन्ति न च कश्चित् पठिष्यति
When the end of the age arrives, Brahmins, afflicted by greed for wealth, will utter the word 'Bhoh!' but none will study.
एकशङ्खास् तथा नार्यो गवेधुकपिनद्धकाः नक्षत्राणि विवर्णानि विपरिता दिशो दश
Women will wear a single ornament, bound with cowhide; the stars will lose their color, and the ten directions will be reversed.
संध्यारागो विदग्धाङ्गो भविष्यति युगक्षये प्रेषयन्ति पितॄन् पुत्रा वधूः श्वश्रूः स्वकर्मसु
At the end of the age, twilight will be red, bodies will be scorched; sons will send their fathers, and daughters-in-law their mothers-in-law, to their own tasks.
युगेष्व् एवं निवत्स्यन्ति प्रमदाश् च नरास् तथा अकृत्वाग्राणि भोक्ष्यन्ति द्विजाश् चैवाहुताग्नयः
Thus, in the ages, women and men will live without restraint; the twice-born will eat without offering the first portion into the fire.
भिक्षां बलिम् अदत्त्वा च भोक्ष्यन्ति पुरुषाः स्वयम् वञ्चयित्वा पतीन् सुप्तान् गमिष्यन्ति स्त्रियो ऽन्यतः
Men will eat on their own without giving alms or offerings; women will deceive their sleeping husbands and go elsewhere.
न व्याधितान् नाप्य् अरूपान् नोद्यतान् नाप्य् असूयकान् कृते न प्रतिकर्ता च युगे क्षीणे भविष्यति
At the end of the age, there will be no one to care for the sick, the unattractive, the poor, or the envious; no one will return a favor.
एवं विलम्बिते धर्मे मानुषाः करपीडिताः कुत्र देशे निवत्स्यन्ति किमाहारविहारिणः
Thus, when righteousness is delayed and people are oppressed by taxes, in what land will they dwell, and how will they obtain food and livelihood?
किंकर्माणः किमीहन्तः किंप्रमाणाः किमायुषः कां च काष्ठां समासाद्य प्रपत्स्यन्ति कृतं युगम्
What actions will they perform, what will they strive for, by what standard will they measure, what will be their lifespan, and by reaching what limit will they attain the Krita age?
