Brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, vaiśyas, women, śūdras, and those of lowest birth—having worshipped that best of gods, attain the supreme path.
Therefore, listen, O sages, as you ask me, O sinless ones; I will briefly declare the path of those great souls.
Having abandoned the human body, which is the abode of disease, unstable, joined with old age and death, and resembling a water bubble,
Foul-smelling with flesh and blood, mixed with excrement, urine, and the like, impure, supported by a pillar of bones, and endowed with sinews, skin, and veins,
By a vehicle born of desire, divine like that of Gandharvas and others, youthful as the sun, adorned with a net of tinkling bells,
Sung to by Gandharvas and decorated by Apsaras, they go, each separately, to the abodes of the guardians of the worlds.
Having enjoyed, for the measure of a Manvantara, the pleasures in each of those worlds, adorned with all enjoyments,
Then they go to the region of the atmosphere, which grants all happiness; there, having enjoyed excellent pleasures for ten Manvantaras, O twice-born,
From there, the Vaishnava twice-born indeed go to the Gandharva world; having enjoyed delightful pleasures there for twenty Manvantaras,
They, being highly honored, then go to the world of the sun, having enjoyed divine pleasures there for thirty Manvantaras,
From there, those Brahmins go to the world of the moon, which grants happiness, for forty Manvantaras, endowed with virtues,
Having enjoyed auspicious pleasures there, free from old age and death, from there they go to the world of the stars, adorned with celestial vehicles,
Those foremost sages, adorned with all virtues, go there; having enjoyed desired pleasures for fifty Manvantaras,
From there, those Brahmins go to the world of the gods, which is very difficult to attain; having enjoyed rare pleasures there for sixty Manvantaras,
The Brahmins enjoy various pleasures, accompanied by Rig and other Vedic hymns; from there, honored by the gods, they again go to the world of Indra,
There, having enjoyed divine pleasures, high and low, which increase the delight of the mind, for seventy Manvantaras,
From there, they go to the supreme world of Prajapati, having enjoyed desired pleasures endowed with all qualities and fulfillments,
For eighty Manvantaras, granting all happiness, from there the Vaishnava Brahmins go to the world of the ancestors,
Having sported there happily for ninety Manvantaras, then returning here, in the best families of Brahmins,
Yogis and Brahmins are born, accomplished in the meaning of the Vedas and scriptures; thus, having enjoyed desired pleasures in all worlds,
Having come here, they depart again, ascending higher and higher in succession; at each birth, O best of twice-born, they remain for a hundred years.
Having enjoyed the pleasures as they desire, they then go to another world; when ten births are thus completed in succession for them,
Then they proceed to the divine realm of Hari, surpassing Brahma's world; having gone there, they enjoy inexhaustible pleasures endowed with all virtues.
For a hundred Manvantaras, free from birth and death, they remain; afterwards, O best of twice-born, they go to the realm of Varaha.
With divine bodies, coiled energy, great size, and immense strength, they play there, O foremost of Brahmins, having assumed a four-armed form.
For ten billion thousand years, O excellent Brahmins, they remain in the eternal state, honored by all the gods.
Then those steadfast ones, O Brahmins, go to the abode of Narasimha; there, joyful, they play for tens of millions of years.
At the end, they go to the Vaishnava city, served by the Siddhas; there, they play in happiness for tens of thousands of years.
In Brahma's world again, O Brahmins, the foremost practitioners go; there, remaining for a long time, for many hundreds of millions of years.
Then those supreme practitioners go to the city of Narayana; having enjoyed various pleasures for hundreds of millions of years.
