धर्मविद्भिः स देवेशो नमस्कार्यः सदाच्युतः धर्म एव सदा हि स्याद् अस्मिन्न् अभ्यर्चिते विभौ
That Lord, Acyuta, should always be worshipped by those who know dharma; indeed, dharma itself abides whenever that mighty one is honored.
स हि देवो महातेजाः प्रजाहितचिकीर्षया धर्मार्थं पुरुषव्याघ्र ऋषिकोटीः ससर्ज च
He is the radiant god, who, desiring the welfare of beings, created the foremost sages for the sake of dharma, O tiger among men.
ताः सृष्टास् तेन विधिना पर्वते गन्धमादने सनत्कुमारप्रमुखास् तिष्ठन्ति तपसान्विताः
Those sages, created by him in that manner, dwell on Mount Gandhamādana, led by Sanatkumāra, endowed with austerity.
तस्मात् स वाग्मी धर्मज्ञो नमस्यो द्विजपुंगवाः वन्दितो हि स वन्देत मानितो मानयीत च
Therefore, he who is eloquent and knows dharma should be honored by the best of twice-born; one who is honored should honor others, and one who is respected should respect others.
दृष्टः पश्येद् अहरहः संश्रितः प्रतिसंश्रयेत् अर्चितश् चार्चयेन् नित्यं स देवो द्विजसत्तमाः
He who is seen should be seen daily; he who is sought for refuge should be sought again; he who is worshipped should be worshipped always, O best of twice-born.
एवं तस्यानवद्यस्य विष्णोर् वै परमं तपः आदिदेवस्य महतः सज्जनाचरितं सदा
Thus is the supreme austerity of faultless Viṣṇu, the great primordial god, always practiced by the virtuous.
भुवने ऽभ्यर्चितो नित्यं देवैर् अपि सनातनः अभयेनानुरूपेण प्रपद्य तम् अनुव्रताः
He, eternal, is always worshipped in the world even by the gods; those devoted to him approach him with fitting fearlessness.
कर्मणा मनसा वाचा स नमस्यो द्विजैः सदा यत्नवद्भिर् उपस्थाय द्रष्टव्यो देवकीसुतः
By deed, mind, and speech, he should always be honored by the twice-born; with effort, having approached him, the son of Devakī must be seen.
एष वै विहितो मार्गो मया वै मुनिसत्तमाः तं दृष्ट्वा सर्वदेवेशं दृष्टाः स्युः सुरसत्तमाः
This path has indeed been established by me, O best of sages; upon seeing the Lord of all gods, the best of gods are seen as well.
महावराहं तं देवं सर्वलोकपितामहम् अहं चैव नमस्यामि नित्यम् एव जगत्पतिम्
That god, the great Boar, the Grandfather of all worlds, I too always worship, the Lord of the universe.
तत्र च त्रितयं दृष्टं भविष्यति न संशयः समस्ता हि वयं देवास् तस्य देहे वसामहे
There, a triad will be seen, without doubt; for all of us gods dwell within his body.
तस्यैव चाग्रजो भ्राता सिताद्रिनिचयप्रभः हली बल इति ख्यातो भविष्यति धराधरः
His elder brother, radiant as a heap of white mountains, will be known as Halī and Bala, and will become the supporter of the earth.
त्रिशिरास् तस्य देवस्य दृष्टो ऽनन्त इति प्रभोः सुपर्णो यस्य वीर्येण कश्यपस्यात्मजो बली
Triśiras, seen as Ananta among the gods, is the mighty one; Suparṇa, powerful son of Kaśyapa, is renowned for his strength.
अन्तं नैवाशकद् द्रष्टुं देवस्य परमात्मनः स च शेषो विचरते परया वै मुदा युतः
The end of the supreme soul, the god, cannot be seen; and that Śeṣa moves about, filled with supreme joy.
अन्तर्वसति भोगेन परिरभ्य वसुंधराम् य एष विष्णुः सो ऽनन्तो भगवान् वसुधाधरः
He who dwells within, embracing the earth with enjoyment—this is Viṣṇu, the endless, the blessed, the bearer of the earth.
यो रामः स हृषीकेशो ऽच्युतः सर्वधराधरः ताव् उभौ पुरुषव्याघ्रौ दिव्यौ दिव्यपराक्रमौ
He who is Rāma is Hṛṣīkeśa, the infallible, the supporter of all; both are tigers among men, divine and of divine prowess.
द्रष्टव्यौ माननीयौ च चक्रलाङ्गलधारिणौ एष वो ऽनुग्रहः प्रोक्तो मया पुण्यस् तपोधनाः तद् भवन्तो यदुश्रेष्ठं पूजयेयुः प्रयत्नतः
They are to be seen and honored, bearers of the discus and plough; this grace has been declared to you by me, O ascetics rich in austerity. Therefore, you should worship the best of the Yadus with devotion.
अहो कृष्णस्य माहात्म्यं श्रुतम् अस्माभिर् अद्भुतम् सर्वपापहरं पुण्यं धन्यं संसारनाशनम्
Ah, the greatness of Kṛṣṇa we have heard is wondrous, removing all sins, auspicious, blessed, and destroying worldly existence.
संपूज्य विधिवद् भक्त्या वासुदेवं महामुने कां गतिं यान्ति मनुजा वासुदेवार्चने रताः
Having properly worshipped Vāsudeva with devotion, O great sage, what path do those attain who are devoted to the worship of Vāsudeva?
किं प्राप्नुवन्ति ते मोक्षं किं वा स्वर्गं महामुने अथवा किं मुनिश्रेष्ठ प्राप्नुवन्त्य् उभयं फलम्
Do they attain liberation, or heaven, O great sage? Or, O best of sages, do they obtain both fruits?
छेत्तुम् अर्हसि सर्वज्ञ संशयं नो हृदि स्थितम् छेत्ता नान्यो ऽस्ति लोके ऽस्मिंस् त्वदृते मुनिसत्तम
You should resolve the doubt that remains in our hearts, O all-knowing one; there is no other resolver in this world but you, O best of sages.
साधु साधु मुनिश्रेष्ठा भवद्भिर् यद् उदाहृतम् शृणुध्वम् आनुपूर्व्येण वैष्णवानां सुखावहम्
Excellent, excellent, O best of sages, what you have spoken; listen in order to the happiness-giving results for the followers of Viṣṇu.
दीक्षामात्रेण कृष्णस्य नरा मोक्षं व्रजन्ति वै किं पुनर् ये सदा भक्त्या पूजयन्त्य् अच्युतं द्विजाः
By initiation alone into Kṛṣṇa, men indeed attain liberation; what then of those who always worship the infallible one with devotion, O twice-born?
न तेषां दुर्लभः स्वर्गो मोक्षश् च मुनिसत्तमाः लभन्ते वैष्णवाः कामान् यान् यान् वाञ्छन्ति दुर्लभान्
For them, heaven and liberation are not difficult to attain, O best of sages; the followers of Viṣṇu obtain whatever rare desires they wish for.
रत्नपर्वतम् आरुह्य नरो रत्नं यथाददेत् स्वेच्छया मुनिशार्दूलास् तथा कृष्णान् मनोरथान्
Just as a man, ascending a mountain of jewels, takes a jewel at will, O tiger among sages, so do devotees take their desired wishes from Kṛṣṇa.
कल्पवृक्षं समासाद्य फलानि स्वेच्छया यथा गृह्णाति पुरुषो विप्रास् तथा कृष्णान् मनोरथान्
Just as a man, approaching the wish-fulfilling tree, takes fruits at will, O brāhmaṇas, so do devotees take their desired wishes from Kṛṣṇa.
श्रद्धया विधिवत् पूज्य वासुदेवं जगद्गुरुम् धर्मार्थकाममोक्षाणां प्राप्नुवन्ति नराः फलम्
By worshipping Vāsudeva, the teacher of the world, with faith and proper method, men obtain the fruits of righteousness, wealth, pleasure, and liberation.
आराध्य तं जगन्नाथं विशुद्धेनान्तरात्मना प्राप्नुवन्ति नराः कामान् सुराणाम् अपि दुर्लभान्
Having worshipped the Lord of the world with a purified inner self, men obtain desires that are difficult even for the gods to attain.
ये ऽर्चयन्ति सदा भक्त्या वासुदेवाख्यम् अव्ययम् न तेषां दुर्लभं किंचिद् विद्यते भुवनत्रये
Those who always worship with devotion the imperishable one called Vāsudeva, for them nothing is difficult to obtain in the three worlds.
धन्यास् ते पुरुषा लोके ये ऽर्चयन्ति सदा हरिम् सर्वपापहरं देवं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
Blessed are those men in the world who always worship Hari, the god who removes all sins and grants all desired fruits.
