Sandipani, considering their deeds beyond human possibility, deemed the two to be like the moon and the sun.
Having received the entire collection of weapons as soon as it was taught, the two said: Choose what you wish for your teacher's fee.
Seeing their superhuman deeds, the wise one requested his dead son, who was at Prabhasa in the salt ocean.
Then, having received the weapons, the two went to the salt ocean and said to the ocean: Give the teacher's son.
With hands joined in reverence, the ocean spoke to the eminent twice-born: I did not take Sandipani's son.
A demon named Panchajana, in the form of a conch, seized the boy; he is in the water, O slayer of demons.
Thus addressed, Krishna entered the water, slew Panchajana, and took the excellent conch born from his bones.

By whose sound the strength of demons is diminished, the brilliance of the gods increases, and unrighteousness is destroyed.
Filling that Panchajanya, Hari went to the city of Yama, and mighty Baladeva conquered Vaivasvata Yama.
Krishna and Bala, best among the strong, gave the boy, who was in the place of torment and had his former body, to his father.
Then, both Rama and Janardana returned to Mathura, governed by Ugrasena, joyful among men and women.
Kamsa, the mighty son of Jarasandha, married Asti and Prapti, O Brahmins; Hari killed their husbands.
Jarāsandha, the powerful lord of Magadha, surrounded by a mighty retinue, came in anger with his allies to kill them.
Having reached Mathura, the king of Magadha besieged it, accompanied by twenty-three divisions of his army.
Rama and Janardana, with only a small retinue, went out and fought together against his strong warriors.
Then mighty Balarama and Krishna resolved, O best of sages, to obtain the ancient weapons.
Immediately, the discus and bow, inexhaustible quivers with arrows, and the Kaumodaki mace appeared from the sky for the heroes.
The plough of Balabhadra descended from the heavens into his hand, and the desired Sunanda pestle likewise for Bala, O Brahmins.
Then, having defeated the army of the king of Magadha in battle, both heroes, Rama and Janardana, entered the city.
When the wicked Jarasandha was defeated, O best of Brahmins, Krishna did not consider him conquered while he still lived and departed.
Again Jarasandha returned, strengthened, and was defeated by Rama and Krishna, but left alive, O best of Brahmins.
That Magadha king, exceedingly arrogant, fought eighteen battles against the Yadus led by Krishna.
In every battle, he was defeated by the Yadus; Jarasandha withdrew with only a few soldiers, though he was powerful.
That strength of the Yadavas, protected repeatedly, is due to the presence and greatness of Vishnu, the wielder of the discus.
It is the play of the Lord of the world, who follows the conduct of men, releasing weapons of many forms against his enemies.

The actions of embodied humans proceed just so; the play of the Lord of the universe unfolds according to his will.
In the cowherd settlement, the twice-born Śyāla called Gārgya a eunuch, O twice-born ones; in the presence of all the Yadus, the Yādavas laughed at that time.
