Just as your house, O Sun, is always free from sorrow,
In the same way, on the sixth day, one should worship the twice-born with devotion and power.

By this procedure, in both fortnights, everything should be performed.

For as many as a hundred crore plus a thousand births,
Whatever desire one prays for, that very wish is abundantly fulfilled; he attains the world of Indra and is never born into suffering anywhere.

On both sixth days, O King, for as long as a year,
Bhānu, Arka, Ravi, Brahmā, Sūrya, Śukra, Hari, and Śiva—
Each month, on the seventh day, one should recite each of these names.
At the conclusion of the vow, one should honor a pair of brāhmaṇas with garments and ornaments.
Just as the month always grants fruits to your devotees, O Ravi—
