आदित्यस्य सदा पूजां तिलकं स्वामिनस्तथा
One should always worship the Sun, and also apply tilaka to the Lord.
वैनायकं विनयसत्त्ववतां नराणां स्नानं प्रशस्तमिह विघ्नविनाशकारि 4.32.
For those possessing humility and good character, the Vināyaka bath here is praised as the destroyer of obstacles.

Thus, in the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa, in the Uttara-parvan, in the dialogue between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Yudhiṣṭhira, the thirty-second chapter named 'The Vināyaka Bath and Caturthī Vow' concludes.
विनायकचतुर्थीव्रतवर्णनम् येन सम्यकृतेनेह न विघ्नमुपजायते
Description of the Vināyaka Caturthī vow: By performing it properly here, no obstacle arises.
चतुर्थ्यां फाल्गुने मासि गृहीतव्यं व्रतं त्विदम्
On the fourth day in the month of Phālguna, this vow should be undertaken.
तदेव वह्नौ होतव्यं ब्राह्मणाय च तद्भवेत्
That itself should be offered into the fire, and given to a brāhmaṇa.
शूराय वीराय गजाननाय लंबोदरायैकरदाय चैव
To the brave, to the heroic, to the elephant-faced, to the large-bellied, and to the one-tusked.
चातुर्मास्यां व्रतं चैव कृत्वेत्थं पञ्चमे तथा
And having performed the vow in the cāturmāsya, likewise on the fifth day.
ताम्रपात्रैः पायसभृतैश्चतुर्भिः सहितं नृप
With four copper vessels filled with milk-rice, O King, together.
मृन्मयान्यपि पात्राणि वित्तहीनस्तु कारयेत् इत्थं व्रतमिदं कृत्वा सर्वविप्रैः प्रमुच्यते
Those lacking wealth should use earthen vessels; having thus performed this vow, one is freed from all faults by the brāhmaṇas.
हयमेधस्य विघ्ने तु संजाते सगरः पुरा
When an obstacle arose in the horse sacrifice, long ago, Sagara performed this.
तथा रुद्रेण देवेन त्रिपुरं निघ्नता पुरा
Likewise, when Rudra, the god, was destroying Tripura in ancient times, he did the same.
मया समुद्रं विशतां एतदेव व्रतं कृतम् 4.33.
When I entered the ocean, I too performed this very vow.
अन्यैरपि महीपालैरेतदेव कृतं पुरा
Other kings in ancient times have also performed this same rite.
अनेन कृतमात्रेण सर्वविप्रैः प्रमुच्यते
By merely performing this, one is freed from all obstacles by the brahmins.
विघ्नानि तस्य न भवंति गृहे कदाचिद्धर्मार्थकामसुखसिद्धिविघातकानि
Obstacles never arise in his house—those that hinder the attainment of righteousness, wealth, desire, or happiness.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे विनायकचतुर्थीव्रतं नाम त्रयस्त्रिंशतमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana, in the Uttara Parva, in the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Yudhishthira, this is the thirty-third chapter named 'The Vow of Vinayaka Chaturthi.'
शान्तिव्रतवर्णनम् येन चीर्णेन शांतिः स्यात्सर्वदा गृहमेधिनाम्
Description of the Shanti Vow: By which, when observed, peace always arises for householders.
पञ्चम्यां शुक्लपक्षस्य कार्तिके मासि पार्थिव
On the fifth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Kartika, O prince,
नक्तं देवं च संपूज्य हरिं शेषोपरिस्थितम्
At night, worship the deity Hari, who rests upon Shesha.
उदरं तक्षकायेति उरः कर्कोटकाय च
To Takshaka is the belly offered, and to Karkotaka the chest.
शंखपालाय वक्षस्तु कुलिकायेति वै शिरः
To Shankhapala the torso, and to Kulika indeed the head.
क्षीरेण स्नपनं कुर्याद्धरिमुद्दिश्य वाग्यतः
With milk, one should bathe Hari, maintaining control of speech.
एवं संवत्सरस्यांते कुर्याद्ब्राह्मणभोजनम्
In this way, at the end of the year, one should offer food to brahmins.
गां सवत्सां वस्त्रयुगं कांस्यपात्रं सपायसम्
A cow with her calf, a pair of garments, a bronze vessel, and sweet rice pudding—
एवं यः कुरुते भक्त्या व्रतमेतन्नराधिप
Whoever performs this vow with devotion, O king,
शेषाहिभोगशयनस्थमयोगसूतिं संपूज्य यज्ञपुरुषं पतगेंद्रनाथम् 4.34.
Worshipping the Lord of Sacrifice, the king of birds, who lies upon the coils of Shesha, the serpent,

Likewise, it brings good fortune among people and great skill in all branches of knowledge.
अभेदश्चापि दंपत्योस्तथा बंधुजनेन च
It also brings harmony between husband and wife, and among relatives.
