ददौ स दश धर्माय कश्यपाय त्रयोदश
He gave ten daughters to Dharma, and thirteen to Kaśyapa.
द्वे प्रादाद्बाहुपुत्राय द्वे कृशाश्वाय चैव हि
He gave two to Bāhuputra, and two indeed to Kṛśāśva.
एकां भृगोर्भवायैकां प्रादात्तेभ्यश्चराचरः
He gave one to Bhṛgu, and one to Bhava; from them arose all that moves and does not move.
वैराजमथ वैकुण्ठं केलासमिति नामतः

प्राचीदिक्क्रमयोगेन तेषां पार्श्वे पुरः स्मृताः
By the order of the eastern direction, their cities are remembered as being beside them.
हिमवान्हेमकूटश्च निषधो मेरुरेव च जम्बूद्वीपप्रमाणेन सहस्रगुणितं शतम् ।। 4.2.
Himavat, Hemakūṭa, Niṣadha, and Meru—each one, by the measure of Jambūdvīpa, is a hundred thousand times greater.
भिद्यते नवधा सोऽपि वर्षभेदेन भारत द्वीपाः सप्त समाख्याताः समुद्रे सप्तभिर्वृताः
O Bhārata, that too is divided into nine by region; seven continents are declared, surrounded by seven oceans.
क्षारक्षीरेक्षुसुरया दध्ना चैव घृतेन च
With salt, milk, sugarcane juice, wine, curds, and also with ghee.
भूर्लोकोऽथ भुवर्लोकः स्वर्महर्ज्जन इत्यपि
Bhūrloka, then Bhuvarloka, Svar, Mahar, and Janaloka as well.
महातलो भूमितलः सुतलो वितल स्ततः
Mahātala, Bhūmitala, Sutala, Vitala, and then Talātala.
हिरण्याक्षप्रभृतयो दानवेन्द्रा महोरगाः
Hiraṇyākṣa and others, the chiefs of the Dānavas and great serpents.
स्वायंभुवो मनुः पूर्वं ततः स्वारोचिषोऽभवत्
First was Svāyambhuva Manu; after him came Svārociṣa.
वैवस्वतोऽयमधुना वर्तते मनुरुत्तमः
Now, the excellent Manu Vaivasvata is reigning.
आदित्या वसवो रुद्रा एकादश तथाश्विनौ
The Ādityas, Vasus, Rudras—eleven in number—and the two Aśvins.
विप्रचित्तिहिरण्याख्यौ दैत्यदानवसत्तमौ
Vipracitti and Hiraṇya, foremost among the Daityas and Dānavas.
पञ्चाशद्गुणितकोटियोजनानां महत्तया 4.2.
With a greatness measuring fifty crore yojanas multiplied.
पिण्डेन च सहस्राणि सप्ततिर्जलमध्यतः
And with seventy thousand spheres in the midst of water.
लोका लोकः परतरः पर्वतोऽग्रमहोच्छ्रयः
Worlds, a world beyond, and a mountain of highest summit.
नैमित्तिकः प्राकृतिकस्तथैवात्यन्तिको लयः
There is dissolution: occasional, natural, and absolute.
उत्पद्यते स्वयं यस्मात्तत्तस्मिन्नेव लीयते
Whatever arises spontaneously, dissolves into that very same.
यथर्तावृतुलिङ्गानि नानारूपाणि पर्यये
Just as seasonal signs, of various forms, appear in turn.
प्रतिलीनेषु भूतेषु विबुद्धः सकलं जगत्
When the elements are dissolved, the whole world awakens.
हिंस्राहिंस्रे मृदुक्रूरे धर्माधर्मावृतानृते
Violent and gentle, soft and harsh, dharma and adharma, truth and untruth.
भूर्दशगुणेन पयसा संवृता तच्च तेजसा
The earth is enveloped tenfold by water, and that by fire.
भूतादिना तथाकाशं भूतादिर्महतावृतः
Beginning with the elements, so too space; the elements are covered by the great.
एवं विधानामण्डानां सहस्राणि शतानि च 4.2.
In this way, hundreds and thousands of such spheres exist.
वैकुण्ठकोष्ठगतमेतदशेषतायां ख्यातं जगत्सुरनरोरगसिद्धनद्धम्
This is known as the world, filled with gods, humans, serpents, siddhas, and bound beings, situated in the Vaikuṇṭha chamber in its entirety.
मायादर्शनवर्णनम् कीदृशी कृष्ण सा माया विष्णोरमिततेजसः
