रामोऽगात्सीतया सार्धमुपोष्यैनां नराधिप
Rama, having fasted, went together with Sita, O king of men.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे मरिचसप्तमीव्रतवर्णनं नाम चतुर्दशाधिकद्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana, in the Brahma Parva, in the Saptami Kalpa, is the two hundred and fourteenth chapter named 'The Description of the Marica Saptami Vow.'
सूर्यमन्त्रोद्धारवर्णनम् निंबपत्रैः स्मृता या तु परमा रोगनाशिनी
The one remembered as supreme and destroyer of diseases with neem leaves—
यथार्चनविधिर्वान्यो येन पूजयते रविम्
Whatever other method of worship there may be, by which one worships the Sun—
अथार्चनविधिं वच्मि मंत्रोद्धारं निबोध मे
Now I will speak of the method of worship; listen to the extraction of the mantra from me.
ॐ खषोल्काय नमः ॐ विटि २ शिरः ॐ सहस्रकिरणाय २०० ऊर्ध्वबंधः ॐ ज्वल २ प्रज्वल २ अग्निप्रकर
Om khaṣolkāya namah; Om viṭi two for the head; Om sahasrakiraṇāya two hundred for the upper binding; Om jvala two, prajvala two, fire array.
ॐ आदित्याय विद्महे विश्वभागाय धीमहि
Om. We contemplate Aditya; we meditate upon the one who is the universal portion.

इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौरधर्मे सूर्यमंत्रोद्धारवर्णनं नाम पञ्चदशाधिकद्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the two hundred fifteenth chapter, entitled 'The Description of the Extraction of the Sun Mantra,' in the Sauradharma section, Saptami Kalpa, Brahma Parvan, of the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana.
पुराणश्रवणविधिवर्णनम् प्रोक्षणीयं प्रयत्नेन किमर्थं सुसमाहितः
The procedure for listening to the Purana is described here. With great attention, one should carefully sprinkle (water); for what purpose?
हदयादिष्वथांगेषु मंत्रं विन्यस्य मंत्रवित्
The knower of mantras should place the mantra upon the heart and other limbs.
कुर्यात्संमार्जनीं मुद्रां दिशां च प्रतिबोधनम्
He should perform the cleansing gesture, the mudra, and the awakening of the directions.
अर्चनस्य प्रकारोऽयं सर्वेषामीप्सितप्रदः
This is the method of worship, which grants all desired things to everyone.
अष्टपत्रं लिखेत्पद्मं शुचौ देशे सकर्णिकम्
One should draw an eight-petaled lotus with a pericarp in a clean place.
खषोल्कं स्नापयेत्तत्र स्वरूपं लोभदायकम्
There, one should bathe the image with pure water, which bestows wealth.
आग्नेय्यां दिशि देवस्य हृदयं स्थापयेन्नरः
In the southeast direction, a person should place the heart of the deity.
पौरंदर्यां न्यसेन्नेत्रे एकामहृदयस्तु सः
In the northwest, he should place the eyes; the heart is said to be single.
ऐशान्यां स्थापयेत्सोमं पौरंदर्यां तु लोहितः
In the northeast, he should place Soma; in the northwest, Lohita.
नैर्ऋत्यां दानवं शुक्रं वारुण्यां च शनैश्चरम् 1.216.
In the southwest, Danava and Shukra; in the west, Shani (Saturn).
द्वितीयायां तु कक्षायां देवतेजःसमुद्भवान्
In the second circle, those born from the radiance of the gods.
भगः सूर्योर्यमश्चैव मित्रो वरुण एव च
Bhaga, Surya, Yama, Mitra, and also Varuna.
त्वष्टा पूषा तथा रुद्रो द्वादशो विष्णुरुच्यते जया च विजया चैव जयंती चापराजिता महाश्वेता महादेवी राज्ञी चैव सुवर्चला
Tvashta, Pusha, likewise Rudra, and the twelfth is called Vishnu; also Jaya and Vijaya, Jayanti and Aparajita, Mahashveta, Mahadevi, Rajni, and Suvarcala.
तथान्यो वापि देवानां समूहस्त त्र तत्र ह
Likewise, any other group of the gods may also be established there.
पुरस्ताद्भासुरस्थाने स्थापनीया विजानता
In the eastern shining place, the knowledgeable one should establish them.
स्थाप्या स्वदक्षिणे पार्श्वे लोकपूज्या समंततः
She who is revered by the world should be established on your right side.
स्थाप्य बुद्धिमती नित्यं श्रीकामैर्वा विवस्वतः स्थाप्याश्च स्वोत्तरे पार्श्वे इत्येता देवशक्तयः
The wise one, ever desired by those who seek prosperity, or the energy of Vivasvat, should be established; and these divine powers should be placed on your left side.
दीपश्चान्नमलंकारो वासः पुष्पाणि मन्त्रतः
A lamp, food, ornaments, garments, and flowers should be offered with mantras.
विधिनानेन सततं सदा योर्चयति भास्करम्
Whoever always worships Bhāskara in this manner, without fail,
अनेन विधिना यस्तु भोजयेद्भास्करं नृप सर्वरोगहरः शान्तो भव मे प्राशनं सदा ।। 1.216.
O king, whoever feeds Bhāskara according to this procedure, is freed from all diseases, attains peace, and always receives my blessing.
इत्थं प्राश्य जपेद्भूमौ देवस्य पुरतो नृप
Having thus offered, one should recite on the ground before the deity, O king.
