युञ्जानीति च मंत्रेण भानुं रोचनयार्चयेत्
With the mantra 'yuñjāna', one should worship Bhānu with rocanā (yellow pigment).
सहस्रशीर्षा पुरुषो रविं सरसि पूजयेत्
With the mantra 'sahasraśīrṣā puruṣa', one should worship Ravi (the Sun) in the water.
विश्वतश्चक्षुरित्येवं भानोर्देहं समालभेत्
With the mantra 'viśvataścakṣuḥ', one should meditate upon the body of Bhānu.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौरधर्म आदित्यपूजाविधिवर्णनं नाम द्व्यधिकद्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the Śrī Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa, in the Brāhma Parvan, in the Saptamī Kalpa, this is the two hundred and second chapter, named 'Description of the Procedure for Worshipping Āditya according to the Sauradharma.'
भास्कराराधनविधिवर्णनम् व्योमपूजाविधिं ब्रूहि समासाच्चतुरानन
Description of the procedure for worshipping Bhāskara.
अष्टशृंगं यथा व्योम पूजयंति मनीषिणः
O four-faced one, tell me concisely the method of worshipping the sky.
सौवर्णं राजतं ताम्रं कृत्वा चाश्ममयं तथा
The wise worship the sky as having eight peaks, making it of gold, silver, copper, and also of stone.
प्रथमं पूजयेद्भानुं मध्ये मंत्रेण सुव्रत
First, O virtuous one, one should worship Bhānu in the center with a mantra.
त्रातारमिंद्रं मंत्रेण सर्वशृंगं सदार्चयेत्
One should always worship Indra, the protector, with the mantra, honoring all the horns.
आयं गौरिति मन्त्रेण नैर्ऋ(कृ)तं शृंगमर्चयेत्
With the mantra 'āyaṃ gaur iti', one should worship the southwestern horn.
इन्द्रसोमांतपतये ह्यथ वानेन पूजयेत्
For Indra, Soma, and Tapati, one should worship with this mantra.
एवं भानुं च परितः पूजयंति सदाच्युत
In this way, O Achyuta, they always worship the Sun all around.
नमोऽस्तु सर्वपापेभ्यो व्योमपीठं सदार्चयेत्
Let there be salutations to all sins; one should always worship the celestial seat.
त्वमेको रुद्राणां वसूनां पूर्वाह्णे तेन पूजयेत्
You alone are among the Rudras and Vasus; in the morning, one should worship with that.
एवं भानुं ग्रहैः सार्धं पूजयंति सदस्पते
In this way, O Lord of the assembly, they worship the Sun together with the planets.
विमले वाससी दत्त्वा गुरवे सपवित्रके
Having given pure garments to the teacher, along with the sacred thread,
गन्धपुष्पाणि चित्राणि भक्ष्यभोज्यान्यनेकशः बहुपुत्रो बहुधनः स नरो भव्यवान्भवेत्
Fragrant and varied flowers, many kinds of food and offerings; such a man becomes blessed with many sons and much wealth.
उत्तरे चायने यस्तु सोपवासोर्चयेद्रविम्
He who worships the Sun with fasting during the northern solstice,
कृत्वोपवासं विषुवे यस्तु पूजयते रविम्
He who worships the Sun after fasting at the equinox,
कृत्वोपवासं ग्रहणे विधिवच्चंद्रसूर्ययोः
Having fasted at an eclipse, one should properly worship both the Moon and the Sun.
इति ते कथितो विष्णो भास्कराराधने विधिः
Thus, O Vishnu, the method of worshipping Bhāskara has been explained to you.
पुनरेत्य महीं कृष्ण राजा भवति भूतले
Returning to earth, O Krishna, one becomes a king upon the land.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौरधर्मे भास्कराराधनविधिवर्णनं नाम त्र्यधि कद्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana, in the Brahma section, in the Saptami Kalpa, in the Sauradharma, is the description of the method of worshipping Bhāskara, the three-hundred-and-second chapter.
व्योमार्चनविधिवर्णनम् रत्नव्योमप्रतिष्ठायां यथा भानुं प्रपूजयेत्
Description of the method of worshipping the sky: As one should worship the Sun in the installation of the jewel-sky.
अर्चयित्वा तु प्रकृतिं गंधपुष्पाक्षतैर्विभो
Having worshipped the nature with fragrant flowers and unbroken rice, O Lord,
आवाहयेन्महादेवं खषोल्कं भास्करं विभुम्
One should invoke Mahadeva, the radiant Sun, the mighty Lord, in the sky.
ॐ खषोल्कमावाहयामि ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वरों आदित्याराधने मन्त्रः
Om, I invoke the Khaṣolka; Om, Bhūḥ, Bhuvaḥ, Svaḥ, Om—this is the mantra for worship of the Sun.
अभिमन्त्र्य भुवे मात्रं सावित्र्या च ऋचा विभो
Having consecrated it with the Sāvitrī verse, O mighty one, offer the measure to the earth.
यथान्यायं तु संक्षाल्य पूरयेच्चान्यतो यतः
Then, after cleansing it properly as prescribed, fill it again from another source.
सविता पश्चातात्सविता ह्यनया पूरयेद्बुधः
The wise should fill it with this after Savitṛ has passed, indeed, with Savitṛ.
