अस्त्रबीजेन मंत्रेण नरः स्वांगानि विन्यसेत्
With the mantra containing the seed of the weapon, a man should assign it to his own limbs.
हृदयादीन्फडन्तांस्तान्विन्यसेत्क्रमतः सदा
He should always assign, in order, the heart and other parts, ending with 'phaṭ'.
यवर्गे यचतुर्थं तु कर्णबिंदुसमन्वितम्
In the fourth of the group beginning with 'ya', joined with the dot at the ear,
पश्चात्तु त्र्यक्षरं सूर्यं कवचं विन्यसेद्बुधः
after that, the wise one should assign the three-syllabled Sun as armor.
प्राणायामं ततः कुर्यात्प्रथमं बीजमुद्गिरन्
Then, uttering the seed mantra, he should first perform prāṇāyāma.
त्रिभिरेव ततो घोरैरात्मशुद्धिः कृता भवेत्
By these three fierce acts, purification of the self is accomplished.
हृदये हृदयं न्यस्य शिरः शिरसि विन्यसेत्
Placing the heart mantra at the heart, he should assign the head mantra to the head.
हृद्बीजमिति विख्यातं ब्रह्मस्थानमनौपमम्
The heart seed is renowned as the incomparable abode of Brahman.
शिखायां तु शिखां न्यस्येच्छरीरे कवचं न्यसेत्
He should assign the crest mantra to the crest, and the armor to the body.
महाव्याहृतयो राजंस्तथारज्वालिनी शिखा
O King, the great vyāhṛtis and the blazing crest,
एतेषां समयाश्चैव कवचं परिकथ्यते
and the rules concerning these are explained regarding the armor.
एवमंगानि विन्यस्य नासौ केनापि बाद्ध्यते
Having thus assigned the mantras to the limbs, he is not obstructed by anyone.
आत्मानं भास्करं ज्ञात्वा यथोक्तं तत्त्वदर्शिभिः
Knowing oneself as Bhāskara, as taught by the seers of truth,
कृत्वा तु दक्षिणे पार्श्वे दिव्यपुष्पकरंडकम्
he should place a divine basket of flowers on the right side.
अस्त्रेण क्षालितां पूर्णां शेषं मंत्रैर्जलैस्तथा
The vessel, purified with a weapon and filled, is then further cleansed with water and mantras.
स्थंडिले चैव द्रव्याणि पूजार्थं कल्पितानि तु ततो मंत्रं जपेत्पश्चादेकचित्तेन मंत्रवित्
On the altar, the materials prepared for worship are arranged; then, the knower of mantras should recite the mantra with one-pointed mind.
स मया विदितः कृत्स्नः कथितो नैकशो द्विजैः
This entire procedure, which was known by me, has been explained, not in parts, but completely, O twice-born ones.
तथा मे ब्रूहि सकलं वैदिकं विधिसत्तमम्
In the same way, tell me the entire Vedic procedure, the most excellent of rites.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मेपर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौरधर्मे द्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the two-hundredth chapter in the Saptamī Section on the Dharma of Sūrya, in the Brāhma Parvan of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.

Having worshipped the pure deity Vibhāvasu with a spotless vessel,
क्रमेण यावदीशानीं हृदि बीजेन विन्यसेत्
Then, in order, one should place the seed syllable in the heart, up to Īśānī.
ततस्तस्योपरिष्टात्तु हृदयेन तु कंचु कम्
Then, above that, one should place the heart syllable and the lotus.
केसरालंबदेवत्वं पंचवर्णं महाद्भुतम्
The deity, adorned with filaments, of five colors, wondrous indeed.
दीप्तादि पूर्वादारभ्य यावदीशानगोचरम् 1.201.

दीप्ता सूक्ष्मा जया भद्रा विभूतिर्विमला तथा
