क्रोधाद्द्वेषाद्भयाल्लोभाद्ब्राह्मणस्य वदेत यः 1.189.
Whoever, out of anger, hatred, fear, or greed, would harm a Brahmin—
ब्राह्मणं च समाहूय याचमानमकिंचनम्
And whoever, having summoned a Brahmin who is begging and destitute—
देवद्विजगवां भूमिं पूर्वदत्तां हरेत यः
Whoever seizes land previously given to gods, Brahmins, or cows—
अधीत्य यो रवेर्ज्ञानं परित्यजति मंदधीः
Whoever, having studied the knowledge of the Sun, then abandons it, being dull-minded—
अग्निहोत्रपरित्यागः पंचयज्ञियकर्मणाम्
The abandonment of the Agnihotra and the rites of the five great sacrifices—
अप्रियं सूर्यभक्तानामभक्ष्यस्य च भक्षणम्
The consumption of what is forbidden, or what is unpleasing to the devotees of the Sun—
सर्वाधिपत्यमेतेषां नास्ति देवपुरोत्तमे
None of these have any sovereignty in the presence of the supreme Lord among the gods.
केचिदत्रैव मुच्यन्ते ज्ञानयोगपरा नराः
Some, even here, are liberated—those men devoted to knowledge and yoga.
तस्माद्विमोक्षमन्विच्छन्भोगासक्तिं विवर्जयेत्
Therefore, one who seeks liberation should abandon attachment to enjoyment.
यच्चाप्यसक्तहृदया जपन्तीमं प्रसंगतः
And whatever is recited by those whose hearts are unattached, in this context—
तन्नार्चयन्ति ये भानुं सकृदुच्छिष्टदेहिनः 1.189.
Those who worship the sun even once while their bodies are impure after eating.
द्विर्जपंति च ये भानुं क्रूराः संक्रुद्धलोचनाः
Those cruel ones, with angry eyes, who recite to the sun twice.
त्रिरर्चयन्ति ये भानुं मद्यमांसरता नराः
Those men who worship the sun three times, indulging in wine and meat.
ये नृत्यगीतं कुर्वंति त्रिश्चतुर्धा यदृच्छया
Those who perform dance and song, three or four times, as they please.
लोकाः ख्यातिं समुद्दिश्य पूजयंति च गोपतिम्
People who, seeking fame, worship the protector of cows.
कामासक्तेन चित्तेन यः षडर्चयते रविम्
He who worships Ravi six times with a mind attached to desire.
नवकृत्वोर्चयेद्यस्तु चित्रभानुं खगाधिप
He who worships Citrabhānu, lord of birds, nine times.
तस्मादपि परं स्थानं यद्भूतानां मनोहरम्
There is a place even higher than that, delightful to all beings.
असंख्यैर्वस्तुभिर्व्याप्तं गैरिकै रक्तचित्रकैः
That place is filled with countless objects, adorned with red and variegated gems.
तत्स्थानं ते प्रगच्छंति अर्चयन्ति च ये द्विजान् तस्मादपि परं स्थानं ज्योतिष्कं सौरमुच्यते
Those who worship the twice-born reach that place; and there is a place even higher, called the solar world of light.
एवं सूर्यानुभावेन निकृष्टेनापि कर्मणा ।।1.189.
Thus, by the influence of the sun, even through inferior actions.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौरधर्मेषु सप्ताश्वानूरुसंवादो नाम एकोननवत्यधिकशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred and eighty-ninth chapter, named 'Dialogue of the Seven Horses and the Thighs of the Sun,' in the Sauradharma section, in the Saptamīkalpa, in the Brāhma Parva of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.
सौरधर्मेषु सूर्यानूरुसंवादवर्णनम् सप्ताश्वतिलक उवाच तारारूपविमानानामिमाः संति च कोटयः

These are the great paths spoken of for those devoted to the sun.

Now, the gross clusters of sins, which are causes of hell.
गवां मार्गे वने चाग्नेः पुरे ग्रामे समर्पणम्
Offering in the path of cows, in the forest, in fire, in the city, in the village.
वने सर्वस्य हरणं नरस्त्रीगजवाजिनाम्
In the forest, taking everything belonging to men, women, elephants, and horses.
चन्दनागुरुकर्पूरकस्तूरीपट्टवाससाम्
Of sandalwood, aloe, camphor, musk, silk garments.
कन्यानां वरयोग्यानामाकर्षणमसंगतः
The unauthorized attraction of maidens eligible for marriage.
कुमारीसाहसं घोरमंत्यजस्त्रीनिषेवणम्
The violent assault of a young woman, and intercourse with women of the lowest class.
