अतिपीतेन देहेन विस्फुरद्भोगसंपदा
With a body exceedingly pale, adorned with resplendent coils,
नागराट् तक्षकः श्रीमान्नामकोट्या समन्वितः
The serpent king Takṣaka, glorious, endowed with countless names,
अतिकृष्णेन वर्णेन स्फुटाधिकटमस्तकः
With a complexion exceedingly dark, and a prominent, well-formed head,
कर्कोटको महानागो विषदर्पबलान्वितः
Karkoṭaka, the great serpent, endowed with the pride and strength of poison,
पद्मवर्णः पद्मकान्तिः फुल्लपद्मायतेक्षणः
Of lotus hue, with the radiance of a lotus, and eyes like fully blossomed lotuses,
स ते शांति शुभं शीघ्रमचलं संप्रयच्छतु
May he quickly grant you peace, auspiciousness, and steadfastness.
विषदर्पबलोन्मत्तो ग्रीवायां रेखयान्वितः ३८. अतिगौरेण देहेन चंद्रार्धकृतशेखरः
Intoxicated by the pride and strength of poison, marked by a line on his neck, with a body exceedingly fair, and crowned with a crescent moon,
दीपभागे कृताटोपशुभलक्षणलक्षितः अपहृत्य विषं घोरं करोतु तव शांतिकम् ।। 1.179.
Distinguished by auspicious marks shining in the light of a lamp, may he, having removed the dreadful poison, bring you peace.
अंतरिक्षे च ये नागा ये नागाः स्वर्गसंस्थिताः
And the serpents who dwell in the sky, and those serpents who reside in heaven,
पाताले ये स्थिता नागाः सर्वे यत्र समाहिताः
And the serpents who are established in the netherworld, all of them gathered there,
नागिन्यो नागकन्याश्च तथा नागकुमारकाः
Serpent-women, serpent-maidens, and likewise serpent-children,
य इदं नामसंस्थानं कीर्तयेच्छृणुयात्तथा
Whoever recites or hears this list of names,
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे ब्राह्मे पर्वणि सप्तमीकल्पे सौर धर्मवर्णनं नामैकोनाशीत्युत्तरशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred and seventy-ninth chapter, entitled 'Description of Solar Dharma,' in the Saptami Section of the Brahma Parva of the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana.
शान्तिकवर्णनम् गंगा पुण्या महादेवी यमुना नर्मदा नदी
Description of appeasement: Ganga, the holy great goddess, Yamuna, and the river Narmada,
सर्वग्रहपतिं देवं लोकेशं लोकनायकम् शांतिं कुर्वंतु ते नित्यं सूर्यध्यानैकमानसाः
May all the lords of the planets, the divine ruler, the lord of the world, always grant you peace, their minds intent on meditation upon the Sun.
निरंजना नाम नदी शोणश्चापि महानदः
The river named Niranjana, and also the great river Shona,
एताश्चान्याश्च बहवो भुवि दिव्यंतरिक्षके
And many others like these, on earth, in heaven, and in the sky,
महावैश्रवणो देवो यक्षराजो महर्षिकः
The great god Vaishravana, king of the Yakshas, a great sage,
महाविभवसंपन्नः सूर्यपादार्चने रतः
Endowed with immense wealth and prosperity, devoted to worship of the Sun's feet,
शांतिं करोतु ते प्रीतः पद्मपत्रायतेक्षणः
May he, pleased and with eyes long as lotus petals, grant you peace.
मनोहरेण हारेण कंठलग्नेन राजते सूर्यार्चनसमासक्तः करोतु तव शांतिकम्
Adorned with a charming necklace shining upon his neck, absorbed in worship of the Sun, may he bring you peace.
सुचिरो नाम यक्षेंद्रो मणिकुडल भूषितः
The Yaksha lord named Suchira, adorned with jeweled earrings,
बहुयक्षसमाकीर्णो यक्षैर्नमितविग्रहः 1.180.
Surrounded by many Yakshas, with Yakshas who are devoted and without hostility.
कुक्कुटेन विचित्रेण बहुरत्नान्वितेन तु
With a splendid rooster, adorned with many jewels,
यक्षवृन्दसमाकीर्णो यक्षकोटिसमन्वितः
Surrounded by a host of Yakshas, accompanied by tens of millions of Yakshas,
धृतराष्ट्रो महातेजा नानायक्षाधिपः खग
Dhritarashtra, of great brilliance, lord of various Yakshas, the bird,
सूर्यभक्तः सूर्यरतः सूर्यपूजापरायणः
Devoted to the Sun, absorbed in the Sun, wholly dedicated to the worship of the Sun.
विरूपाक्षश्च यक्षेंद्रः श्वेतवासा महाद्युतिः
Virūpākṣa, the lord of the Yakṣas, clothed in white, of great brilliance.
सूर्यपूजापरो भक्तः कंजाक्षः कंजसन्निभः
Engaged in the worship of the Sun, devoted, lotus-eyed, resembling a lotus.
अंतीरक्षगता यक्षा ये यक्षाः स्वर्गगामिनः
The Yakṣas who dwell in the intermediate regions, those Yakṣas who journey to heaven.
