He, with a flower-laden celestial chariot and garlands,
Enjoys unending happiness, his time and decrees transcended.
The description of the Sun's Sixth-Day Vow.
Sumantu said: Listen, O great king, to that which is always honored in the world.
Seated comfortably, the foremost among the gods, the Four-Faced One, was in the city of the mind.
He is that blessed god, the sun, the thousand-rayed Ravi.

Therefore, listen with focused mind to all that I say.
Whoever, having prepared offerings himself, worships the sun personally—
Whoever makes a garden for Ravi, adorned with mango, bilva, and other trees—
With punnaga, naga, bakula, ashoka, sesame, and champaka trees—
As long as there are leaves, flowers, seeds, and fruits—
He should offer ghee, guggulu, and also kunduru resin, O king.
He should offer black agaru and camphor incense to the sun.
For thousands of millions of kalpas, and hundreds of millions of kalpas—
A yaksha accepts guggulu mixed with ghee, producing sound.
Whoever burns guggulu with ghee on the seventh day of the dark fortnight—
He should offer devadaru, nameru, shrivasa, and kunduru as well.
Thus, the fragrant form becomes six thousand times greater.
The god, always fond of kunduru, bestows endless fruit.
Having burned half of the unmixed (incense), one becomes like the sun.
Incense made from black agaru shines like gold in a smokeless fire.

For a hundred million aeons, he shines with divine brilliance, resembling fire.
At the end of that, by the remaining merit, he becomes the lord of the three worlds.
Endowed with all happiness, possessing valor equal to the sun,
He is adorned with white garments, fashioned with silken threads.
Wearing splendidly decorated clothes, he is honored in the world of the gods.

I shall declare the merit of him who is placed upon the highest part of the Sun.
Thus, according to one's means, everything should be understood in summary.
