Thus, Brahma and the other gods, having worshiped the Sun,
There is no god equal to Aditya, nor is there any path equal to Aditya.
All the three worlds have their root in Aditya; there is no doubt about this.
O best of Brahmins, among Rudra, Indra, Upendra, and the lords of heaven,
He is the self of all, the lord of all worlds, the great god, the progenitor.
From him everything arises, and into him all indeed dissolves.
O Brahmin, the Sun is the eldest planet of the world, blazing and the source of all.
Moments, muhūrtas, days, nights, and lunar fortnights, all entirely,
He is time, he is fire, he is the twelvefold one, the progenitor.
Therefore, O best of twice-born, what fruit arises from his worship—
He attains immortality, O hero, radiant with brilliance like the sun.
Whoever, out of delusion, hates the sun, has insulted all the gods.
Establishing the adored Sun with all effort and proper rites,
The fruit gained from all sacrifices, austerities, gifts, pilgrimages, and worship of gods—
Whoever, with devotion and according to rule, installs the Sun, O king,
Where he marries a woman of his own maternal or paternal lineage,
Having enjoyed abundant pleasures, when dissolution approaches,
Or, desiring sovereignty, he is born again in another existence.
By performing that act, O king, he worships all the gods in the sky.
Here itself, he becomes wealthy and prosperous, and at the end attains the state of the Sun.
Hear the meritorious result for as many as one hundred and eleven times.
He removes all the sins of mortals, even by being seen or touched.
He enjoys, like the Sun, eternal happiness in heaven together with the gods.
With flowers of delightful fragrance and with various fruits, O king,
Endowed with many kinds of tastes and blended with many fragrances,
One should offer, in the western part, fragrant sandalwood and auspicious camphor.
Thus, according to one's wealth, having made an extensive arrangement,
But even if one does it just once, O best of Bharatas,
Freed from all sins, devoid of all suffering, radiant like the sun, shining with a brilliance equal to the orb of the sun.
Whoever, while playing with dust, would make the sky without proper purpose—
