पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं चंद्रगुप्तस्ततोऽभवत्
Chandragupta then ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं मोहनस्तत्सुतोऽभवत्
His son Mohana ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं नागवाहस्ततोऽभवत्
Nagavaha then ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं वीरसिंहस्ततोऽभवत्
Virasimha then ruled the kingdom like his father.
शतार्द्धाब्दं कृतं राज्यं चंद्रराय स्ततोभवत्
Chandraraya then ruled the kingdom for one hundred and fifty years.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं वसंतस्तस्य चात्मजः
His son Vasantas ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं प्रमथस्तत्सुतोऽभवत्
His son Pramatha ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं विशालस्तस्य चात्मजः
His son Vishala ruled the kingdom like his father.
पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं मंत्रदेवस्ततोऽभवत्
Mantradeva then ruled the kingdom like his father.
आर्यदेशाश्च सकला जितास्तेन महात्मना 3.4.2.
By him, the great-souled one, all the Aryan lands were conquered.
ततश्चानंद देवो हि जातः पुत्रः शुभाननः
Then Ananda Deva was born, a son with an auspicious face.
तत्सुतेन पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं राज्यं महीतले
By his son, the kingdom was ruled on earth like his father.
अनंगपालस्य सुतो ज्येष्ठां वै कीर्तिमालिनीम्
Anaṅgapāla's son was the eldest, named Kīrtimālinī.
धुंधुकारश्च वै ज्येष्ठो मथुराराष्ट्रसंस्थितः
Dhuṃdhukāra, the eldest, resided in the region of Mathurā.
महीराजस्तु बलवांस्तृतीयो देहलीपतिः
Mahīrāja, powerful, was the third and lord of Dehalī.
चपहानेश्च स कुलं छाययित्वा दिवं ययौ
Capahāna, after protecting his lineage, departed for heaven.
म्लेच्छैश्च भुक्तवत्यस्ता बभूबुर्वर्णसंकराः
Those who enjoyed with the mlecchas became of mixed castes.
मेहना म्लेच्छजातीया जट्टा आर्यमयाः स्मृताः
Mehanā, born among mlecchas, are called Jaṭṭā, but considered Aryan by tradition.
यदा कृष्णः स्वयं ब्रह्म त्यक्त्वा भूमिं स्वकं पदम्
When Kṛṣṇa, himself Brahman, abandoned the earth and his own abode,
दिव्यं वृन्दावनं रम्यं प्रययौ भूतले तदा
He then went to the divine, delightful Vṛndāvana on earth.
स्थिता द्वीपेषु वै नाना मनुजा वेदतत्पराः
Various people devoted to the Vedas dwelled on the islands.
अष्टषष्टिसहस्राणां वर्षाणां मुनिसत्तम
O best of sages, for sixty-eight thousand years,
षष्टिवर्षसहस्राणि द्वीपराज्यमचीकरत्
For sixty thousand years, they ruled the islands.
तत्पश्चाद्भारते वर्षे म्लेच्छया कलिराययौ
After that, in the land of Bhārata, Kali arrived through the mlecchas.
भयभीतस्त्वराविष्टो गन्धर्वाणां यशस्करः
Fearing danger and seized by haste, he brought fame to the Gandharvas.
ततो वर्षशताब्दांते संतुष्टो रविरागतः
Then, at the end of a hundred years, the satisfied Sun arrived.
चतुर्वर्षसहस्राणि चतुर्वर्षशतानि च
Four thousand years and four hundred years,
संपन्नं भारतं वर्षं तदा जातं समंततः । ।।। 3.4.3.
At that time, the land of Bhārata became prosperous everywhere.
सहस्राब्दकलौ प्राप्ते महेन्द्रो देवराट् स्वयम्
When a thousand years of Kali had passed, Mahendra, king of the gods, himself,
आर्यावती देवशक्तिस्तत्करं चाग्रहीन्मुदा
Āryāvatī, the divine power, gladly accepted his hand.
