Then, between the two armies, there was a great battle.
Having taken refuge with Padmini, at that time the brother and father stood; for their sake, she gave a letter of disappearance.
There, having become invisible, the two struck the enemy's forces with their own swords.
The leaders of the army, abandoning the battle, went for refuge to the portion of Krishna.

Then, having attained divine sight, he fought after approaching him.
There, having bound (him), filled with joy, having obtained the mark, he became fearless.
Having given them, the couple, to King Jayachandra,
Jayachandra, powerful, having seen his own wife at home, in the bright fortnight of the eldest month, the portion of Krishna came home.
Thus, O Brahmin, the auspicious deeds of the portion of Krishna have been told to you.
The king of the earth, seated in the assembly, was approached by one equal to the moon.
Seeing him who had arrived, the king, absorbed in sorrow,
By the mighty heroes, beginning with Krishna's portion, fear had come to my village.
Thus addressed, the pure-hearted one, meditating on the all-pervading Shiva,
From a portion of Jishnu was born Brahmananda, of great might.
And when Malana's son will depart, having abandoned the body,
Thus, as he was speaking in this way, the steadfast minister was addressed by the king.
Having deceitfully slain Brahmananda, the great hero and foremost of kings, while he was alone, he will consider his purpose accomplished.
When this was said, the king with a clear mind addressed the lord of the earth.
Then, having approached Malana, he himself informed her.
Hearing these words, the king bowed to him.
O great queen, your maidservant is Velā by name, beautiful in form.
She is of a low caste and dark-complexioned, as the great-souled king has heard; therefore, considering my words, do what is pleasing to you.
Together with me, your son Brahmananda, mighty in strength—
—will quickly obtain a wife by approaching the king of the earth.
Hearing this, the queen, deluded by divine illusion, related everything, and after hearing, the king spoke as follows.
The king, exceedingly cunning, was intent on my destruction.
Hearing this, Malana, filled with anger, said to the king: 'Do as I say, O king, or else I will give up my life.'
When she had spoken thus, that night King Parimala—
—having taken his mother's command as foremost, and accompanied by his maternal uncle—
—at dawn, set out for Harinagara.
