Having created a wooden army by the power of mechanical devices,
One hundred thousand horse-mounted wooden figures, eager for battle,
A thousand mounted on lions, and a thousand riding swans,
Seven thousand camels, all valiant and ready for battle,
Two hundred thousand, protected by the Kṛṣṇa faction, met their destruction.
Seeing that wondrous and delightful spectacle, Jayanta, skilled in warfare,
All of them were reduced to ashes and perished there; they raised a victorious shout and praised again and again.
Then the Buddhists from China assembled twenty thousand men,
Yogasiṃha, mounted on an elephant, strong, holding bow and arrows,
Five thousand were slain by Yogasiṃha’s arrows; having made a lion of iron, they sent it against Yogasiṃha.
By the fall of that lion, the hero met his death; striking that lion with his own mace, he roared there.
Then, at the urging of the Buddhist lion, a tiger was set forth there.
Seeing his two maternal uncles overcome by death, the son of Svarṇavatī,
Quickly took up an arrow named Saṃmohana, auspicious and enchanting,
He bound those Buddhist lions and ten thousand kings.
Then all of them, delighted, sent word and went to the city; having plundered by force, they reached the king’s fortress.
At that time, the Buddhist lion, having arrived, was released by Jayanta.
Ten crores of gold and wealth were then given for joy.
We shall never go to the land of the Aryas for the sake of the kingdom; those three hundred thousand, joined together, have gone to the house of the guardians of the realm.
Supriya, Yogasimha, and others—tell us about them, O wise one.
Then, the god, afflicted with sorrow, approached Mahendra at the end.
O king of the gods, salutations to you, doer of what pleases all the gods; now, indeed, the order of the world appears to be violated on earth.
Hearing these words, Mahendra, by divine power, rejoiced together with the gods at the victory of his own son Jayanta.
At that time, Indula was distressed, and Śāradā, the bringer of all auspiciousness.
Thus it has been told to you, O Brahmin; now hear again the auspicious tale: after giving them gold measured as ten crores, equally and equally.
He arranged the departure of the eight mighty warriors.
By Kāmāpāla, O Brahmin, Lakṣaṇa and Nakulāṃśaka.
Jayachandra, greatly fortunate one, listen attentively to my words.
Therefore, Lakṣaṇa, the heroic one, may reach me alone.
Knowing him to be accompanied by an army, the mighty king of the earth.
