लोमकस्तस्य तनयो राज्यं सप्तशतं समाः
Lomaka's son ruled the kingdom for seven hundred years.
तस्माज्जातः सुतो न्यूहो निर्गतस्तूह एव सः
From him was born a son named Nyūha, who departed from there.
सीमः शमश्च भावश्च त्रयः पुत्रा बभूविरे
Sīma, Śama, and Bhāva—these three became his sons.
एकदा भगवान्विष्णुस्तत्स्वप्ने तु समागतः
Once, Lord Viṣṇu appeared to him in a dream.
वत्स न्यूह शृणुष्वेदं प्रलयः सप्तमेऽहनि
"My child Nyūha, listen to this: destruction will come on the seventh day."
जीवनं कुरु भक्तेषु सर्वश्रेष्ठो भविष्यसि
"Preserve life among the devotees; you will become the greatest of all."
हस्तत्रिशतलम्बां च पंचाशद्धस्तविस्तृताम् 3.1.4.
He made a vessel three hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide.
आरुह्य स्वकुलैस्सार्द्धं विष्णुध्यानपरोऽभवत्
Ascending it together with his family, he became absorbed in meditation on Viṣṇu.
चत्वारिंशद्दिनान्येव महावृष्टिमकारयत्
For forty days, he caused a great rain to fall.
चत्वारो मिलिताः सर्वे विशालायां न चागताः
All four gathered together, but did not reach the great city.
न्यूहश्च स्वकुलैस्सार्धं शेषास्सर्वे विनाशिताः
Nyūha, along with his family, survived; all the rest were destroyed.
महालक्ष्म्यै विष्णुमात्रे राधा देव्यै नमोनमः
Salutations again and again to Mahālakṣmī, to Viṣṇu's mother, and to goddess Rādhā.
रेवत्यै पुष्पवत्यै च स्वर्णवत्यै नमोनमः
Salutations again and again to Revati, Puṣpavatī, and Svarṇavatī.
महावातप्रभावेन महा मेघरवेण च
By the force of a great wind and the roar of mighty clouds,
तस्माद्भयाद्भैरवि त्वमस्मान्संरक्ष किंकरान्
"O Bhairavī, out of fear from that, protect us, your servants."
अब्दांतरे मही सर्वा स्थली भूत्वा प्रदृश्यते
After a year, the entire earth appeared as dry land.
न्यूहस्तत्र स्थितो नावमारुह्य स्वकुलैस्सह 3.1.4.
There Nyūha remained, boarding the vessel with his family.
कलियुगभूपाख्यानवर्णनम् दिव्यदृष्टिप्रभावेन ज्ञातं ब्रूहि ततः परम्

Then, when the Blessed Lord was pleased, his lineage flourished.

इलीशस्तरलीशश्च कित्तीहूदानिरुच्यते
Ilisha, Taralisha, and Kittihuda are also named.
द्वितीयतनयाद्धामात्सुताश्चत्वार एव ते
From the second son, Dhamat, there were four sons.
देशाः प्रसिद्धा म्लेच्छानां कुशात्षट्तनयाः स्मृताः 3.1.5.
The lands of the foreigners, known as the six sons of Kusha, are renowned.
तथा सवतिका नाम निमरूहो महाबलः
Likewise, Savatika by name, Nimarukha of great strength.
अक्कदो वावुनश्चैव रसनादेशकाश्च ते
Akkada and Vavuna, and also those of the Rasana region.
द्विसहस्रे शताब्दान्ते बुद्ध्वा पुनरथाब्रवीत
At the end of two thousand centuries, having understood, he spoke again.
