चैत्रशुक्ल नवम्यां च मध्याह्ने गुरुवासरे
On the ninth day of the bright half of Caitra, at midday, on a Thursday,
जाते तस्मिन्सुतश्रेष्ठे देवाः सर्षिगणास्तदा इत्यूचुर्वचनं तस्मादिन्दुलो नाम चाभवत्
When that excellent son was born, the gods along with the hosts of sages then said these words, and thus he was named Indulo.
आह्लादो जातकर्मादीन्कारयित्वा शिशोर्मुदा
Āhlāda, with joy, performed the birth rituals and other ceremonies for the child.
इन्दुले तनये जाते द्विमासांते महीतले नेत्रसिंह सुतं दृष्ट्वा मलनास्नेहसंयुता
When a son was born to Indule, after two months on earth, the women, smeared with oil and affection, saw Netrasiṃha's son.
शतवृन्दाश्च नर्तक्यो नानारागेण संयुताः
Hundreds of dancers, adorned in various colors, gathered.
सप्तरात्रमुषित्वा स योगसिंहो ययौ गृहम्
After staying for seven nights, Yogasiṃha returned home.
पुत्रस्नेहेन तं पुत्रं स जहार स्वमायया
Out of fatherly affection, he took his son away by his own power.
स्नेहप्लुता शची देवी स्वस्तनौ तमपाययत् 3.3.14.
The goddess Śacī, filled with affection, nursed him at her own breast.
इन्दुं पीयूषभवनं गृह्णाति वपुषा स्वयम् स बालः स्वपितुर्विद्यां पठित्वा श्रेष्ठतामगात्
Indu, radiant as nectar, took on a splendid form; that boy, having studied his father's knowledge, attained excellence.
विनष्टे बालके तस्मिन्देवी स्वर्णवती तदा
When that boy disappeared, then the goddess Svarṇavatī—
ज्ञात्वाह्लादं तथा भूतं दशग्रामे तथाविधे
Knowing that such a thing had happened to Āhlāda, in the village of Daśagrāma—
आह्लादः स्वकुलैः सार्द्धं निराहारो यतेंद्रियः
Āhlāda, together with his family, remained without food, with his senses restrained.
तदा तुष्टा स्वयं देवी वागुवाचाशरीरिणी
Then the goddess, pleased, herself spoke with a bodiless voice.
इन्द्रपुत्रो जयन्तश्च स्वर्गलोकमुपागतः
Jayanta, the son of Indra, had gone to the heavenly world.
यावत्त्वं भूतलेऽवात्सीस्तावत्स भूतले वसेत्
As long as you remain on earth, so long will he also dwell on earth.
इत्युक्ते वचने देव्या निश्शोकास्ते तदाभवन्
When these words were spoken by the goddess, they then became free from sorrow.
शारदां पूजयामासुः सर्वलोकनिवासिनीम्
They worshipped Śāradā, the goddess dwelling in all the worlds.
जप्त्वा सप्तशती स्तोत्रं त्रिसन्ध्यं प्रेमभक्तितः
Reciting the Seven Hundred Hymn at the three junctions of the day, with loving devotion.
सामन्तद्विजपुत्रश्च चामुण्डो नाम विश्रुतः
There was a sāmanta, a brahmin's son, named Cāmuṇḍa, renowned.
द्वादशाब्दे ततो जाते त्रिचरित्रस्य पाठतः
After twelve years had passed, he was born during the recitation of Tricaritra.
कुंडिकेयं च भो भक्ताः पूरयामि च तामहम्
O devotees, I fill this vessel for you.
सुखखानिस्तु बलवान्मधुपुष्पैस्तथा फलैः बलखानिस्तथा मांसैर्मूलशर्मा तु रक्तकैः
Sukhakhāni was strong, with honey, flowers, and fruits; Balakhāni likewise with meats; Mūlaśarmā with red roots.
देवकी च तदा हव्यैश्चन्दनादिभिरर्चनैः
Devakī at that time worshipped with offerings and sandalwood and other rituals.
आह्रादश्चैव सर्वांगैरुदयः शिरसा स्वयम्
Āhrāda, with all his limbs, and Udaya, with his own head, performed their acts.
उवाच वचनं देवी स्वभक्तान्भक्तवत्सला
The goddess, affectionate to her devotees, spoke words to her own followers.
बलखानिर्महावीरो दीर्घे काले स मृत्युभाक् 3.3.15.
Balakhāni, the great hero, after a long time, met his death.
देवकी च भवेद्देवी चिरकालं स्वलोकगा एकस्तु देववत्प्रोक्तो बलाधिक्यो द्वितीयकः
Devakī became a goddess, dwelling in her own realm for a long time; one is declared as divine, the second as stronger.
निष्कामोऽयं देवसिंहो मृतो मोक्षत्वमाप्नुयात्
This Devasiṃha, without desire, upon death attains liberation.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे प्रतिसर्गपर्वणि चतुर्युगखंडापरपर्याये कलियुगीयेतिहाससमुच्चये पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the fifteenth chapter in the Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa, Pratisarga Parva, in the section of the Four Ages, in the compilation of Kali Yuga history.
शृणु त्वं मुनिशार्दूल दृष्टं यद्योगदर्शनात्
Hear, O tiger among sages, what has been seen through the vision of yoga.
