Hearing this, with a tranquil mind and accompanied by seven hundred thousand,
Netra Simha, powerful, along with the mountain kings,
Had a thousand elephants and a hundred thousand mighty horses.
Yogasimha, together with elephants, challenged the enemy army.
Vijaya and the prince, along with all the kings,
Between the two armies there was a great and terrible battle; they struck down the enemy force of two hundred thousand, guarded by heroes.
Seeing their own army shattered, four intoxicated warriors revived the entire force with the sound of the dhakka drum, as if with nectar.
Again and again, the best of the Bhrigus came forward to face battle.
Thus, after seven days had passed, the battle became dreadful and terrifying to the timid.
Again, having regained life, they struck down the enemy soldiers; despairing of victory, they sought refuge with Krishna’s portion.
There, Krishna’s portion, standing upon a divine horse, comforted them.
I approached you, O beautiful one, who stood upon the palace terrace, endowed with all splendor, worthy of refuge, like Kamakshi herself.
He narrated the events as they had occurred in the great battle.
Then she said, 'O Simha, go to the temple of Kamakshi.'
With the music of the dhakka drum, worship the fulfiller of all desires.
Having defeated the half-remaining army in battle, they fled.
When that enemy was defeated together with the sons of Netra-siṃha,
On the ninth day, the goddess Svarṇavatī then spoke to her father: 'By whose grace, O lord, did you become victorious over those who are hard to conquer?'
Hearing this, the father replied, 'Such a dream was seen by me.'
Thus spoken by her father, that daughter, by her father's command, during the night—
Kṛṣṇāṃśa, having become the bride of the garland-maker, arrived there.
Meanwhile, sixty heroes equipped with vehicles appeared.
Seeing those who had arrived, the mighty one took up his sword.
Kṛṣṇāṃśa quickly went to the place where Rūpaṇa was standing.
When the divine ḍhakkā-drum was taken away, Netra-siṃha became seized by fear.
At the coming of dawn, those heroes, along with their forces, arrived; and by day's end, they reached the place where a great battle occurred.
Kṛṣṇāṃśa, having worshipped him, then the mighty one sounded the divine ḍhakkā-drum.
His army of seven hundred thousand, intoxicated with pride, returned again.
When the city was besieged, Netra-siṃha was overcome with fear.
Then the gracious Lord spoke to the king,
