तस्माच्च सुरथो जातः पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं पदम्
From them was born Suratha, who attained a position equal to his father.
सार्वभौमस्तस्य सुतः पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं पदम् 3.1.3.

तस्मादर्णव एवासौ पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं पदम्

अयुतायुस्तस्य सुतो राज्यं दशसहस्रकम्
His son was Ayutāyu, who ruled for ten thousand years.
तस्मादृक्षस्सुतो जातः पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं पदम्
From him, Ṛkṣa was born, who attained a position equal to his father.
दिलीपस्तस्य तनयः पितुस्तुल्यं कृतं पदम्
Dilīpa was his son, who attained a position equal to his father.
शंतनुस्तस्य पुत्रश्च राज्यमेकसहस्रकम्
Śaṃtanu was his son, who ruled for one thousand years.
पांडुश्च तनयो यस्मिन्राज्यं पंचशतं कृतम्
Pāṇḍu was his son, in whose reign five hundred years were completed.
सुयोधनेन षष्ट्यब्दं कृतं राज्यं ततः परम्

राज्यमेकसहस्रं च ततोऽभूज्जनमेजयः
After that, Janamejaya ruled for one thousand years.
