द्विहस्तवेदिकामध्ये प्रकुर्यात्सेतुमंडपम्
In the center of a platform two hastas wide, one should construct a pavilion for the bridge.
गणेशं क्षेत्रपालं च शेषं चैव दिगीश्वरान्
Gaṇeśa, Kṣetrapāla, Śeṣa, and the guardians of the directions—
स्थालीपाकेन जुहुयादन्ते वै विप्रभोजनम्
One should offer oblations with cooked rice, and at the end, feed the Brāhmaṇas.
त्र्यम्बकेनैव मंत्रेण भूमिं संस्थाप्य पूजयेत्
With the Tryambaka mantra, having established the ground, one should worship.
प्रदद्यादसुनीतेति पुनस्तु नैव स्थापयेत्
One should give with the 'Asunīti' mantra, but should not establish it again.
एवं यूपस्य च तथा अधिगृह्णाति मंत्रकम् 2.3.17.
In this way, for the sacrificial post as well, one should recite the appropriate mantra.
सुरासुरेति कुसुमं दूर्वामन्त्रेण दूर्विकाम्
With the mantra 'Surāsura,' one should offer flowers, and with the dūrvā mantra, dūrvā grass.
स्थालीपाकेन विधिना अन्येषां पूर्ववच्चरेत्
With cooked rice, according to the prescribed method, one should perform for the others as before.
तंत्रेण निर्मितं कुर्यात्सकलं च त्रिहस्तकम्
One should construct the entire (object) according to the prescribed method, making it three hand-spans in size.
स्थापयेत्तत्र मन्त्रेण पञ्चगव्येन यत्नतः
With care, one should install it there using a mantra and with the five products of the cow.
तद्विष्णोरिति मन्त्रेण घटतोयैरनन्तरम्
Then, with the mantra 'tad viṣṇoḥ', one should use water from a pot.
वास्तोष्पतिं च विष्णुं च यूपे संपूजयेत्क्रमात्
One should worship, in order, Vāstoṣpati and Viṣṇu at the sacrificial post.
अर्घ्यपात्रे च दुष्टे च हस्तेनोत्सृज्य सत्तमाः ) शिवलोकस्थिता गावः सर्वदेवैः सुपूजिताः स मुक्तः सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोके महीयते
If the vessel for arghya is impure, the best of people should discard it by hand; cows residing in Śiva's realm, worshipped by all the gods, grant liberation from all sins, and one is honored in Viṣṇu's world.
यावंति तृणगुल्मानि संति भूमौ शुभानि च
As many auspicious grasses and shrubs as there are upon the earth—
दिनैकसाध्यप्रतिष्ठाविधानवर्णनम् सद्योधिवासमाज्येन प्रकुर्यात्तांत्रिकोत्तमः
Description of the procedure for a one-day installation— The best of ritualists should perform immediate consecration with clarified butter.
उत्तरं तु गते हंसे अतीते चोत्तरायणे
When the swan (sun) has moved northward, and the northern solstice has passed,
नारायणादिमूर्तीनां द्वात्रिंशद्भेद एव तु
There are, indeed, thirty-two forms of Nārāyaṇa and other deities.
नित्यं निर्वर्त्य मतिमान्कुर्यादभ्युदयं ततः
A wise person should always perform (their worship), and then undertake the auspicious rite.
गणेश ग्रहदिक्पालान्प्रतिकुंभेषु पूजयेत्
One should worship Gaṇeśa, the planetary deities, and the guardians of the directions at the respective pitchers.
स्नापयेत्प्रथमं देवं तोयैः पञ्चविधैरपि
First, one should bathe the deity with five kinds of water.
तिलतैलैश्च स्नेहैश्च कषायैरपि सत्तमाः
And, O best of men, with sesame oil, other unguents, and also with herbal decoctions.
तुलसीकुसुमापुष्पपत्राण्याहुस्त्रिपत्रकम्
They say that the leaves and flowers of the tulasī plant are three-leaved.
मृत्तिका करिदंतस्य तथाश्वखुरमृत्तिका
Clay from an elephant's tusk and also clay from a horse's hoof (should be used).
कुर्यात्प्राणप्रतिष्ठां च होमं कुर्याद्यथाविधि 2.3.18.
One should perform the establishment of life (prāṇa-pratiṣṭhā) and conduct the fire offering according to the proper method.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे मध्यम पर्वणि तृतीयभागेऽष्टादशोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the eighteenth chapter in the third section of the middle part of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.
देवादिप्रतिष्ठावर्णनम् अधिवास्य च पूर्वेद्युः श्राद्धमभ्युदयात्मकम्
Description of the installation of deities and others— Having performed the consecration on the previous day, one should conduct a śrāddha rite for auspiciousness.
प्रथमे जलजैः स्नानं पञ्चगव्यैरनंतरम्
First, bathe with water from lotuses, then with the five products of the cow.
पञ्चामृतैः पञ्चगव्यैः करीषशतधारया
With the five nectars, the five products of the cow, and a hundred streams of cow dung.
बिल्वपत्रैः फलैर्वापि दद्याच्चापि शताहुतीः
With bilva leaves or fruits, one should also offer a hundred oblations.
प्रतिमां कालिकायाश्च तारायाश्च पृथक्पृथक्
