ध्यात्वा आरोपयेदेवं बालादीनथ नायकान्
Having meditated thus, one should install the leaders beginning with the child.
षोडशोच्चैः पृथग्रूपैः प्रतिपुष्पांजलिक्रमात् 2.3.5.
Sixteen, each with distinct forms, according to the order of offering flowers and handfuls.
शुद्धस्फटिकसंकाशं ध्यायेत्सोमं चतुर्मुखम्
One should meditate upon Soma, four-faced, shining like pure crystal.
वरदं देवगंधर्वैः सेवितं मुनिभिः स्तुतम्
Bestower of boons, served by gods and Gandharvas, praised by sages.
स्वरथस्थं महाबाहुं शंखांकुशसखेटकम्
Seated in his own chariot, mighty-armed, with conch, goad, and mace.
दशस्वरान्वितं तोयं स्वभावं तमसान्वितम्
Water endowed with ten sounds, its nature joined with darkness.
नीलं जयं भृंगिणं च परितश्च यथाक्रमात्
Blue, victorious, and Bhṛṅgi, all around in proper sequence.
अष्टोत्तरशतं चैव सोमाय द्वादशाहुतीः
One should offer one hundred and eight oblations to Soma, and twelve offerings.
एकैकामाहुतिं दद्यात्सप्तजिह्वामनंतरम्
One should give each offering, following the seven tongues in succession.
वनस्पतिं समुद्दिश्य ततोयमीरयेदृचम्
Addressing the vegetation, one should recite the Ṛc for that water.
अब्जैरग्रं कांस्यवस्त्रं रत्नं दिक्षु यथाक्रमम्
With lotuses at the front, bronze cloth, and jewels in the directions in proper order.
मित्रत्रयश्चेति तथा पूषा च म ऋचा तथा 2.3.5.
The three Mitras, and likewise Pūṣā, and the Ṛc as well.
क्षिपेद्गङ्गाजलं तोये सर्वौषध्युदकेन च
One should pour Gaṅgā water into the water, along with water from all medicinal herbs.
आचार्यमात्मने तत्र संस्थितं द्विजपुंगवैः
There, the teacher for oneself, established with the foremost twice-born.
धेनुं च लोहपात्रं च दत्त्वा इष्टां च दक्षिणाम्
Having given a cow, a vessel of iron, and the desired gift.
क्षुद्रारामप्रतिष्ठावर्णनम् अमंडले शुभे स्थाने द्विहस्तम यस्थंडिले
In a pure place, not within a circle, on a platform measuring two hands, one should establish (the altar).
स्थापयेत्कलशं तत्र सोमं विष्णुं समर्चयेत्
There one should place a pot and worship Soma and Viṣṇu.
वृक्षान्माल्यैरलंकृत्य भूषयेद्भूषणादिना
One should adorn the trees with garlands and decorate them with ornaments and the like.
भोजयेत्पंचविप्रांश्च पुरतोंऽते विशेषतः
One should feed five Brāhmaṇas, especially in front and behind.
दद्याद्यूपं मध्यदेशे रोपयेत्कदलीं ततः
One should place a sacrificial post in the middle region and then plant a banana tree.
अष्टावष्टौ च जुहुयादन्येषां च घृतेन तु
One should offer eight and eight oblations for others with ghee.
दक्षिणां च ततो दद्यात्पूर्णां दद्याद्गृहं व्रजेत्
Then one should give a complete gift and may go home.
श्रेष्ठवृक्षप्रतिष्ठाविधानवर्णनम् वृक्षस्य पश्चिमे भागे स्थापयेत्कलशं ततः
On the western side of the tree, one should place a pot.
वृक्षं संस्थापयेत्पूर्वं सूत्रेण परिवेष्टयेत्
First, one should set up the tree and wrap it with a thread.
ततस्तिलयवैर्होमानष्टाष्टौ विधिवच्चरेत्
Then, one should perform eight and eight oblations of sesame and barley, according to the rules.
वृक्षमूले यजेद्धर्मं पृथिवीं च विशं तथा
At the root of the tree, one should worship Dharma, the Earth, and the people likewise.
धेनुं च दक्षिणां दद्याद्दोहदं वृक्षपूजनम्
One should give a cow as a gift, and the worship of the tree fulfills desires.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराणे मध्यमपर्वणि तृतीयभागे सप्तमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the seventh chapter of the third section, in the middle part, of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.
अश्वत्थप्रतिष्ठाविधानवर्णनम् स्थण्डिलं कारयेत्तत्र चंदनेनाङ्कितं यथा
There one should make a platform, marked with sandalwood as prescribed.
पद्मं प्रकल्पयेत्तत्र सामान्यार्घ्यं विधाय च
There one should arrange a lotus and prepare the general offering.
