नीलचन्दनवस्त्रैश्च नीलमाल्यानुलेपनैः
With blue sandalwood, garments, blue garlands, and unguents.
धूपैर्नीलपताकाभिर्बलिभिः पायसैरपि
With incense, blue banners, and offerings of milk-rice as well.
ध्यायेद्द्विनेत्रं द्विभुजं धनेशं पीतांबरं वै नरवाहनं च
One should meditate upon the Lord of Wealth, with two eyes and two arms, clad in yellow garments, and riding upon a human bearer.
गन्धचंदनवस्त्रैश्च पीतमाल्यानुलेपनैः
With fragrant sandalwood, garments, yellow garlands, and unguents,
धूपैः पीतपताकाभिर्बलिभिः पायसैरपि
With incense, yellow banners, offerings, and also with milk-rice,
स्निग्धकर्पूरसंकाशं तुषारकिरणप्रभम्
Resembling smooth camphor, radiant like the rays of frost,
उत्तंगवृषभारूढं त्रिनेत्रं भस्मभूषितम्
Mounted upon a high bull, three-eyed, adorned with ashes,
एवं ध्यात्वा महेशानं स्थापयेदीशदिग्दले
Having meditated thus upon the great Lord, one should install Him in the eastern direction.
पूजयेत्परया भक्त्या भक्ष्यभोज्यैरनेकशः 2.2.19.
He should be worshipped with supreme devotion, with many kinds of foods and edibles.
सितध्वजपताकाभिर्बलिभिः पायसादिभिः
With white banners and flags, offerings, milk-rice, and the like,
ब्रह्माणं रक्तगौरागं शोण पद्मसमप्रभम्
Brahmā, with a reddish-golden hue, shining like a red lotus,
पद्मासनस्थितं तद्वच्छ्वेतवस्त्रं चतुर्भुजम्
Seated upon a lotus seat, likewise clad in white garments, four-armed,
राजहंससमायुक्तं विमानवरसंस्थितम्
Accompanied by a royal swan, established in a splendid aerial chariot,
कुर्वाणमिव लोकांस्त्रीन्सिद्धगन्धर्वसेवितम्
As if creating the three worlds, attended by Siddhas and Gandharvas,
वामपार्श्वे तु सावित्रीं दक्षिणे तु सरस्वतीम्
With Sāvitrī on his left side, and Sarasvatī on his right,
नानाभक्ष्योपचारैश्च पूजयेद्गंधचन्दनैः
He should be worshipped with various offerings of food, with fragrance and sandalwood.
अनन्तशुक्लवर्णाभं पीतवस्त्रं चतुर्भुजम्
Resembling endless white in color, clad in yellow garments, four-armed,
आधारभूतं जगतां स्वर्णयज्ञोपवीतिनम् । नानाभरणसम्पन्नं फणाशतसमन्वितम्
The support of the worlds, wearing a golden sacred thread, adorned with various ornaments, and surrounded by hundreds of hoods,
ॐ नमोस्त्विति मंत्रेण स्थापयेद्वरुणांतरे 2.2.19.
With the mantra 'Om namas,' one should install him in the region of Varuṇa.
बिभ्रतं च श्रुतं तद्वत्तथा दंडकमण्डलू
Holding the Vedas as before, likewise the staff and water-pot,
आब्रह्मन्निति मन्त्रेण पूजयेद्गन्धचन्दनैः
With the mantra 'ābrahman', one should worship with fragrant substances and sandalwood.
वरदं डमरुधरं नागयज्ञोपवीतिनम्
One should worship the boon-giver who holds a drum and wears a serpent as the sacred thread.
कपालमालिनं देवं भुजंगाभरणान्वितम्
The god adorned with a garland of skulls, decorated with serpent ornaments.
त्र्यंबकं चेति मन्त्रेण पूजयेन्मधुपायसैः
With the mantra 'Tryambaka', one should worship with honeyed rice puddings.
नानाभरणसंपन्नं पीतवस्त्रं चतुर्भुजम्
Adorned with various ornaments, wearing yellow garments, possessing four arms.
श्रिया दक्षिणतो वामे सरस्वत्या समन्वितम्
With Śrī on the right and Sarasvatī on the left, both present.
पूजयेद्गन्धपुष्पाद्यैः पायसेन घृतेन च
One should worship with fragrant substances, flowers, and also with rice pudding and ghee.
गजेन्द्रवदनं देवं श्वेतवस्त्रं चतुर्भुजम् 2.2.19.
The god with the face of an elephant, wearing white garments, possessing four arms.
मूषकस्थं महाकायं शङ्खकुन्देंदुसप्रभम्
Seated on a mouse, of great body, shining like a conch, jasmine, and the moon.
नानाभरणसंपन्नं सर्वापत्तिविनाशनम्
Adorned with various ornaments, the remover of all calamities.
