शुक्लशोणं पुनः श्वेतं सिंदूराभं प्रकीर्तितम्
White-red, again white, and that which is said to resemble vermilion.
शुक्लपीतं च श्वेतं च गौरं चेत्यष्टवर्णकम्
White-yellow, and white, and tawny—thus, eight colors.
धरणीमदनं वाद्ये शंभुवर्णादिप्रक्रमात्

मध्येंते ऊनपञ्चाशत्सर्वं च वास्तुकर्मणि

Thirty-two are to be worshipped outside, and thirteen in the worship chamber.
चतुर्दिक्षु षट्पदं तु त्रिपदं तु चतुष्पदम् चरक्यादि ततो हित्वा चत्वारिंशच्च पंचकम् 2.2.10.
In the four directions, place the six-footed, then the three-footed, and the four-footed; after that, leaving aside the charaka and others, set up forty-five.
अपरं मण्डलं वक्ष्ये यथावदनुपूर्वशः

रुद्रं रुद्रजयं चैव वायुं जृंभकमेव च
Rudra, Rudrajaya, and also Vayu, and Jṛmbhaka as well.
क्रमादीशानपर्यंतां जयंतः शक्रभास्करौ
In order, from Īśāna to the end, place Jayanta, Śakra, and Bhāskara.
अग्निः पूषा च वितधो यमश्च गृहरक्षकः
Agni, Pūṣan, Vitadha, and Yama, the guardian of the house.
निर्ऋतिर्दौवारिकश्च सुग्रीववरुणौ ततः
Nirṛti, the doorkeeper, then Sugrīva and Varuṇa.
प्राणवायुश्च नागश्च सोमो भल्लाट एव च
Prāṇavāyu, Nāga, Soma, and Bhallāta as well.
मिलित्वा च त्रिपञ्चाशत्तेभ्यः पूर्वे बलिं हरेत्
Having assembled these fifty-three, one should first offer the bali.
रक्तमर्यमणं ध्यायेच्चतुर्भिर्बहुभिर्वृतम् 2.2.10.
One should meditate on Aryaman as red, surrounded by many four-armed beings.
आकृष्णेनेति मन्त्रस्य स्वर्ण ऋषिजगतीछन्दः सवित्रर्यमप्रीतये विनियोगः
For the mantra 'ākṛṣṇeneti', the seer is Svarṇa, the meter is Jagatī, the application is for the pleasure of Savitṛ and Aryaman.
विवस्वंतं पीतवर्णं पीताम्बरधरं शुभम्
One should meditate on Vivasvant, golden in color, wearing yellow garments, and auspicious.
एतातविषंतीति मंत्रस्य कर्दम ऋषिः पंक्तिश्छन्दः कमलादेवताविवस्वत्प्रीतये विनियोगः
For the mantra 'etātaviṣaṃtīti', the seer is Kardama, the meter is Paṅkti, the deity is Kamalā, and the application is for the pleasure of Vivasvant.
मित्रं ध्यायेच्छुक्लवर्णं श्वेतहंसोपरिस्थि तम्
One should meditate on Mitra, white in color, seated upon a white swan.
कयानश्चीति मंत्रस्य जयंत ऋषिर्गायत्री छन्दः शङ्करो देवता मित्रप्रीतये विनियोगः
For the mantra 'kayānaścīti', the seer is Jayanta, the meter is Gāyatrī, the deity is Śaṅkara, and the application is for the pleasure of Mitra.
प्रीतं महीधरं ध्यायेद्वृषभोपरि संस्थिम्
One should meditate on the pleased Mahīdhara, seated upon a bull.
त्र्यम्बकमिति मंत्रस्य गर्गऋषिस्त्रिष्टुप् छन्दो हरो देवता महीधरप्रीतये विनियोगः
For the mantra 'tryambakamiti', the seer is Garga, the meter is Triṣṭubh, the deity is Hara, and the application is for the pleasure of Mahīdhara.
सावित्रीं श्वेतवर्णां च सर्वलक्षणसंयुताम्
One should meditate upon Sāvitrī, who is white in complexion and endowed with all auspicious marks.
रक्ताम्बरधरां रक्तां रक्तमालोपशोभिताम्
She is adorned in red garments, her form is red, and she is beautified with a red garland.
तद्वर्षं इति मंत्रस्य गौतम ऋषिर्विराट् छन्दः सूर्यो देवता सवितृप्रीतये विनियोगः ।। 2.2.10.
In the mantra beginning with 'that region,' Gautama is the seer, Virāṭ is the meter, Sūrya is the deity, and it is employed for pleasing Savitṛ.
शक्रं ध्यायेत्पीतवर्णं शुक्लकैरावतस्थितम्
One should meditate upon Indra, who is yellow in color and seated upon the white elephant Airāvata.
