The eleventh and twelfth days are not obtained on the following day.
When the eleventh day is pierced by the tenth, and there is a small portion on the twelfth, then both days should be abandoned, and breaking the fast is prescribed.
Seeing the acceptance of the sixteenth, the twelfth day loses the breaking of the fast.
Whatever breaking of the fast is prescribed on the thirteenth day, it does not confer merit.
If Rudra and ten friends remain on the next day without passing away,
If the tenth day enters only for a moment like a flash of lightning,
Then, if the tenth day is pierced, it should be observed; there is no fault.

Having fasted on the tenth with friends, if a man, out of delusion, observes the eleventh day,
On Sunday, Friday, or at the time of a transition, when the day ends,
Whether it is the bright or the dark fortnight, even if previously resolved,
One should subsist at night on the dark fortnight, so is the scriptural determination; there, in the dark half, the later date is not accepted.
When, in the bright fortnight of Śrāvaṇa, the twelfth day falls on the day of the moon in Bhādra, dedicated to Hari—
In Śrāvaṇa and also in Āśvina, the twelfth day is obtained.
When the twelfth day coincides with Puṣya, it is called Vijayā in Phālguna.
That which is called Vijayā in Bhādra is joined with the Śravaṇa constellation.
When the twelfth day follows the eleventh, accompanied by daylight—
That twelfth day is to be known as fruitful; fasting on it yields great results.
On the twelfth day touched by Viṣṇu, one should duly worship Vāsudeva.

If the twelfth day is affected by desire (kāma), it is considered that fasting is not to be observed.
Bathing is prescribed at every watch of the night.
If, during Śravaṇa, one attains both the eleventh and twelfth days—
If the twelfth day is not obtained, then the breaking of the fast is on the thirteenth.
But when the twelfth day suitable for breaking the fast is obtained, then—
When both the eleventh and twelfth days are joined with the Śravaṇa constellation—
Having observed restraint on the tenth, in the morning of the eleventh day—
By performing the supreme vow of Vijayā in this manner—
For as long as Viṣṇu takes form, for the divine four ages—
In the Tretā age, O twice-born ones, for ten births in the central regions, endowed with sons, grandsons, and wealth, one becomes like a king, possessing a hundred thousand.
For ten births in the Tretā age, one is born as an excellent Brāhmaṇa.
