ः आचार्याद्यंशतः कश्चित्क्षीणवित्तं समाहरेत्
If someone is lacking in wealth, he may collect a portion from the teacher’s share.
मानाशक्तौ तु यज्ञानां यद्देयं यज्ञसिद्धये
According to one’s means, whatever should be given for the completion of the sacrifice,
नमेरुफलपुष्पाणि देयान्येतानि सर्वतः
Names, forms, and flowers—these should all be offered everywhere.
देवताप्रतिमाद्यं च शिरोनाभिस्तथैव च 2.2.3.
The image of the deity, as well as the head and navel, likewise,
दक्षिणावर्तशंखं च हरिवंशस्तथा खिलः
A right-turning conch, the Harivamsha, and the Khila text,
अमूल्यान्याहुरेतानि दत्त्वानन्तफलानि च
These are said to be priceless; by giving them, one obtains endless rewards.
क्षुद्रलिंगे स्वर्णमूल्यं पादार्धं श्रीधरेपि च
For a small emblem, half the value in gold is prescribed, and the same for a Śrīdhara emblem.
यथा पुस्तकमात्रेण स्वर्ण पादार्धमिष्यते
As with a single book, half the value in gold is considered suitable.
हरिवंशे श्लोकशते स्वर्णमेकं प्रकीर्तितम्
For a hundred verses of the Harivamsha, one gold coin is declared.
कपिलायां सुवर्णार्धं धेनुमात्रे पुराणकम्
For a tawny cow, half a gold coin; for a single cow, the Purana text.
पुराणत्रितयं चान्ये वीर्यहीने द्वयं भवेत्
The three Purāṇas are considered, and the other two are without potency.

There are thirty-two Purāṇas, as well as the Vṛṣa and Nīla, in the same way.
मूल्यं श्रीफलमात्रेऽपि पुराणत्रितयं भवेत्
Even for the price of a śrīphala fruit, the three Purāṇas are to be given.
धात्रीफलस्य प्रत्येकं भवेद्रजतमा षकम् 2.2.3.

मूल्यदानवर्णनम् कामहोमे भवेन्मुष्टिर्मुष्टयोष्टौ तु कुञ्चिका
In the kāma homa, a handful is prescribed; eight handfuls make a kuñcikā.
एकैक कुञ्चिमानेन कुर्यात्पात्राणि वै सदा
One should always prepare the vessels according to the measure of each kuñcikā.
सिद्धानां खड्गधाराणां प्रत्येकस्य दिनक्रमात्
For the accomplished ones, for each sword-edge, day by day, as prescribed.
कुण्डानां कुड्मलानां च वेदनं यादृशं शृणु
Hear now the measurement for kuṇḍas and kuḍmalas, as it is.
द्वे रौप्ये सर्वतोभद्रे क्रौञ्चघ्राणे चतुर्थकम्
For the sarvatobhadra and krauñcaghrāṇa, two and a fourth parts of silver are required.
सहस्रारे मेरुपृष्ठे तुर्यरौप्यवृषाधिकम्
At the thousand-petaled (lotus) on Meru's summit, the fourth part more than the silver bull is required.
चतुरस्रस्य निर्माणे स्वर्णपादः कलौ युगे
In the making of the square, a gold quarter is prescribed in the Kali age.
पद्मकुण्डे तु वृषभमर्ध चन्द्रे तु रौप्यकम्
In the lotus-shaped kuṇḍa, a bull; in the half-moon, silver is required.
षडस्रे तु तदर्धं स्याद्यागे माषद्वयं भवेत्
In the hexagonal, half of that; for the sacrifice, two māṣas are required.
दारणे हस्तमात्रं स्यात्स्वर्णकृष्णकलं भवेत् 2.2.4.
For splitting, the measure of a hand is prescribed; a portion of black gold is required.
खण्डे दशवराटं स्याद्बृ हन्माने तु काकिणी
For a section, ten varāṭas are required; for a large measure, a kākiṇī.
सप्तहस्तमिते कुण्डे निष्ठे आबद्धमात्रकम्
In a kuṇḍa measured by seven hands, the fixed measure is to be bound.
वर्धयेत्पणमात्रेण निम्ने पत्रे च प्रक्रमात्
One should increase by the measure of a paṇa, in a lower vessel, successively.
शैले ज्ञेयं काञ्चनस्य रत्तिका गृहकर्मणि
On a stone, the rattikā measure of gold should be known for household tasks.
वृक्षाणां रोपणे दद्यात्प्रत्यह्ना सार्धमाषकम्
For planting trees, one should give half a māṣaka each day.
पणेपणे तु ताम्रस्य दद्यात्पणचतुष्टयम्
For weighing with copper, one should give four paṇas.
