चंद्रोऽयं द्विजरूपेण सभार्य इति कल्पयेत्
One should consider this moon as appearing in the form of a twice-born, together with his wife.
सोमरूपस्य ते तद्वन्ममाभेदोऽस्तु मूर्तिभिः
Let there be no difference between you and the form of Soma in these images.
भुक्तिर्मुक्तिस्तथा भक्तिस्त्वयि यज्ञेऽस्तु मे दृढा
May I have firm enjoyment, liberation, and devotion to you in this sacrifice.
रूपारोग्यायुषामेतद्विधायकमनुत्तमम्
This is the supreme bestower of beauty, health, and longevity.
त्रैलोक्याधिपतिर्भूत्वा शतकल्पशतत्रयम्
Having become the lord of the three worlds, one attains three hundred cycles of a hundred ages.
नारी वा रोहिणी चंद्रशयनं वा समाचरेत्
A woman, Rohiṇī, or one who lies on a lunar bed may perform this.
इति पठति शृणोति वा य इत्थं मधुमथनार्चनमिंदुकीर्तनेन 4.206.
Whoever recites or listens in this way to the worship of Madhumathana and the praise of the moon—
श्रीकृष्णस्य द्वारकागमनवर्णनम् धर्ममूलं यतश्चेदं तस्माद्धर्मपरो भव
The description of Śrī Kṛṣṇa's arrival at Dvārakā: Since this is rooted in dharma, therefore be devoted to dharma.
जानताऽपि मया पार्थ कामार्थौ न प्रकाशितो
Even though I knew, O Partha, I did not reveal the matters of desire and wealth.
कामिनो वर्णयन्कामाँल्लोभं लुब्धस्य वर्णयन्
Describing desires for the passionate, and greed for the greedy—
भविष्योत्तरमेतत्ते कथितं पांडुनंदन
This Bhaviṣyottara has been told to you, O son of Pāṇḍu.
यद्दृष्टमितिहासेषु पुराणेषु च भारत
Whatever has been seen in the Itihāsas and Purāṇas, O Bhārata,
लोकवेदविरुद्धं यत्कथ्यते मनुजोत्तम
Whatever is spoken that is opposed to worldly custom or the Vedas, O best of men,
अतिस्नेहेन भवतो ममैतत्समुदाहृतम्
This has been declared to you by me out of great affection.
नैतत्प्रकाशनीयं हि दांभिकाय शठाय वा
Indeed, this should not be revealed to a hypocrite or a deceitful person.
साधुवृत्ताय दांताय सत्यार्जवरताय च
But to one of good conduct, self-controlled, devoted to truth and honesty—
सामान्यमेतत्सुरसत्तमानां वर्णाश्रमाणां च नरेंद्रचन्द्र 4.207.
This is generally for the best of the gods and for those of the social orders, O king among men.
धर्मः स्वयं पार्थ भवानिह त्वं धर्मार्थविद्दृष्टपरावरश्च
O Partha, you yourself are dharma here; you know the aims of dharma and artha, and see both the near and the far.
यास्याम्यहं द्वारवतीं पुनश्च यज्ञं समेष्यामि महोत्सवे च
I shall go to Dvāravatī, and again I will come to the great festival of the sacrifice.
इत्युक्तवान्यातुकामः प्रहृष्टः संपूजितः पांडुसुतैर्महात्मा
Having spoken thus, desiring to depart, the great soul, honored by the sons of Pāṇḍu, was delighted.
यद्याज्ञवल्क्यमुनिना भगवान्वशिष्ठः पृष्टः किलोत्तरमुवाच बहुप्रकारम्
If the venerable Vasiṣṭha was asked by the sage Yājñavalkya, he indeed gave many kinds of answers.
जयति पराशरसूनुः सत्यवतीहृदयनंदनो व्यासः
Victory to Vyāsa, son of Parāśara, joy of Satyavatī’s heart!
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे समाप्तिवर्णनं श्रीकृष्णस्य द्वारकां प्रति गमनवर्णनं नाम सप्ताधिकद्विशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa, in the Uttaraparvan, the chapter named 'The Description of the Completion of the Dialogue between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Yudhiṣṭhira, and the Departure of Śrī Kṛṣṇa to Dvārakā,' the two hundred and seventh chapter is concluded.
अनुक्रमणिकाकथनम् ( अथ वृत्तांताः माया च वैष्णवी यस्मात्संसारे दोषकीर्तनम् ।। १ पापभेदस्ततस्तस्माच्छुभाशुभविनिर्णयः
The account of the table of contents. (Now, the events: the Māyā of Viṣṇu, the description of faults in saṃsāra; the types of sin, and thus the determination of good and evil.)
अशोककरवीराख्यं व्रतं तस्माच्च कोकिलम्

द्वितीयाव्रतमाहात्म्यमशून्य शयनं तथा
The greatness of the second vow, and likewise the bed that is not empty.
पंचाग्निसाधना रम्या तृतीयाव्रतमुत्तमम्
The practice of the five fires is delightful; the third is the supreme vow.
ललिताख्या तृतीया च योगाख्या च तथापरा
The third is called Lalita, and another is known as the vow of Yoga.
सौभाग्याख्या तृतीया च आर्द्रानंदकरी था
The third is called Saubhagya, and there is also the Ardra Nandakari.
अनंतरी तृतीया च गणशांतिव्रतं तथा
The third is called Anantari, and likewise the vow for the peace of the hosts.
