मुखावलोकनपरो वशे तिष्ठति सर्वदा
He always remains intent on gazing at her face, held under her sway.
एतदाचक्ष्व भगवन्परं कौतूहलं मम
O revered one, please tell me this, for I am greatly curious.
जानामि सर्वं सुभगे तव वृत्तमशेषतः
O fortunate one, I know all your deeds completely.
त्वमासीर्वैश्य महिषी गिरिव्रजपुरे पुरा
You were once the queen of the Vaishyas in the city of Girivraja.
तत्र श्रुतस्त्वया वत्से ब्राह्मणानां समीपतः
There, dear one, you listened near the Brahmins.
विशेषतस्तत्र विप्रैः कथितो गुडपर्वतः 4.197.
Especially there, the sages spoke of Gudaparvata.
तस्य दानस्य माहात्म्यात्त्वया भुक्तं वरानने
Because of the greatness of that gift, you enjoyed its fruits, O beautiful-faced one.
अन्यानि सप्त जन्मानि तव राज्यं भविष्यति
For seven more births, your reign will continue.
भूतं चैवमवश्यं च गुडपर्वतदानजम्
This has happened and will surely happen, arising from the gift of Gudaparvata.
तस्माद्देयमिदं दानं फलमुत्तममिच्छता
Therefore, this gift should be given by those desiring the highest reward.
दानमेतत्प्रशंसंति स्त्रीणां राज न्विशेषतः
This gift is especially praised among women, O king.
कृष्णेष्टसुंदरदरीस्रवणाकुलेन गंधर्वसिद्धवनिताशतसेवितेन
Attended by hundreds of Gandharva, Siddha, and celestial women, with Krishna, the beautiful, desired, and overflowing with streams.
हेमाचलदानविधिवर्णनम् यस्य प्रसादाद्भवनं वैरिच्यं याति मानवः
By whose grace a man attains the abode of Virinchi.
उत्तमः पलसाहस्रो मध्यमः पञ्चभिः शतैः
The best gives a thousand palas, the middling gives five hundred.
दद्यादेकपलादूर्ध्वं यथाशक्त्या विचक्षणः
A wise person should give at least one pala or more, according to his ability.
विष्कंभशैलांस्तद्वच्च कृत्वा मंत्रमुदीरयेत्
He should likewise make Viṣkambha mountains and recite the mantra.
यस्मादनंतफलदस्तस्मात्पाहि शिलोच्चय
Because you grant endless fruit, therefore protect, O heap of stone.
हेमपर्वतरूपेण तस्मात्पाहि नगोत्तम
In the form of the golden mountain, therefore protect, O best of mountains.
स याति परमं स्थानं यत्र देवो महेश्वरः
He attains the supreme place where the god Maheśvara resides.
हेमाचलात्परं दानं न चान्यद्विद्यते क्वचित्
There is no gift anywhere greater than the gift of Hemācala.
हैमं महींद्रमणिशृंगशतैरुपेतं लोकाधिपाष्टकयुतं सहितं मुनीन्द्रैः
Adorned with hundreds of peaks of golden, jewel-studded mountains, accompanied by ten thousand rulers of the world and great sages.
तिलाचलदानविधिवर्णनम् यत्प्रदानान्नरो याति विष्णुलोकमनुत्तमम्
By the giving of which a man attains the unsurpassed world of Viṣṇu.
तिलाः पवित्रमतुलं पवित्राणां च पावनम्
Sesame is pure, unequalled, and the purifier of all that is pure.
मधुकैटभनामानावास्तां दितिसुतौ पुरा

And he, the best among the strong, was slain in battle by Hari.
मेदिनीति ततः संज्ञामवापाचल धारिणी
Therefore, the earth, the bearer of mountains, received the name Medinī.
स्तुतिभिश्च परं स्तुत्वा ऊचुस्त्रिदशपुंगवम् देवा ऊचुः त्वया धृतं जगद्देव त्वया सृष्टं तथैव च
Having praised him greatly with hymns, the gods said to the chief of the immortals: 'O god, you uphold the world, and you have created it as well.'
त्वयीश लीयते सर्वं त्वयैव मधुसूदन
O Madhusūdana, all dissolves into you, O Lord, and by you alone.
