मही येन पुरा दत्ता देवराजस्य संगरे
By whom, in the past, the earth was given to the king of the gods in battle.
महेन्द्राय महाभाग सर्वं निहतकंटकम्
To the illustrious Mahendra, the entire earth, cleared of all obstacles.
तावत्तत्राजगामाथ पुलस्त्यो ब्रह्मणः सुतः
Then, at that time, Pulastya, the son of Brahma, arrived there.
दत्तार्घस्तु तदा तेन उपविष्टो वरासने
He was offered arghya and seated upon a splendid seat.

फलेन तेन जातोऽसि सप्त जन्मानि भूपतिः
By the fruit of that, you became a king for seven births.
अपराण्यपि जन्मानि सप्त राजा भविष्यसि
And in other births as well, you will be a king for seven times.
एतत्ते सर्वमाख्यातं यन्मां परिपृच्छसि
All this has been told to you, as you have questioned me.
प्रकरोति विधानेन कृतकृत्यो भवेद्बुधः
One who acts according to the prescribed method becomes accomplished, O wise one.
ययावदर्शनं तत्र सूर्ये वैश्वानरोपमः
He departed for that vision, shining like the sun and resembling fire.
धर्मं विवर्द्धयति कीर्तिं शतानि धत्ते कामं प्रसाधयति पापमपाकरोति
He increases righteousness, attains fame by the hundreds, fulfills desire, and removes sin.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे भुवनप्रतिष्ठावर्णनं नामैकनवत्युत्तरशततमोऽध्यायः
