लोकपालाष्टकं षष्ठे दिङ्मातंगास्तथैव च
In the sixth, the eight guardians of the world, and likewise the elephant guardians of the directions.
अन्तरांतरतो देवान्विन्यसेदष्टमे पुनः 4.190.
Again, in the eighth, one should place the gods in the intermediate spaces.
मंडपं कुण्डमेकं च कारयेद्वस्त्रसंयुतम्
One should construct a pavilion and a single altar, adorned with cloth.
कृष्णाजिनोपरिगतं विश्वचक्रं विधानतः
The universal wheel should be arranged according to the ritual, placed upon a black antelope skin.
पूर्णकुम्भाष्टकं तद्वद्वस्त्रमाल्यविभूषितम्
Similarly, eight full pots, decorated with cloth, garlands, and ornaments.
अधिवास्य ततश्चक्रं पश्चाद्धोमं समाचरेत्
After consecrating the wheel, one should then perform the sacrifice.
होमं कुर्युर्जितात्मानो वस्त्राभरणभूषिताः
Those who have mastered themselves, adorned with garments and ornaments, should perform the sacrifice.
चक्रप्रतिष्ठितानां तु सुराणां होम इष्यते
The sacrifice is prescribed for the gods established in the wheel.
ततो मंगलशब्देन स्नातः शुक्लांबरो गृही
Then, to the sound of auspicious music, the householder, bathed and dressed in white, proceeds.
इममुच्चारयन्मंत्रं कृत्वा तत्त्रिःप्रदक्षिणम् परमानंदरूपी त्वं पाहि नः पापकर्दमात्
Reciting this mantra and circumambulating it three times: 'You, whose form is supreme bliss, protect us from the mire of sin.'
तेजोमयमिदं यस्मात्सदा पश्यंति सूरयः
Because this is filled with radiance, the gods always behold it.
वासुदेवे स्थितं चक्रं तस्य मध्ये तु माधवः ।। 4.190.
The wheel is established in Vasudeva, and in its center is Madhava.
विश्वचक्रमिदं यस्मात्सर्वपापहरं हरेः
Because this universal wheel of Hari removes all sins.
इत्यामंत्र्य च यो दद्याद्विश्वचक्रं विमत्सरः
Thus, whoever gives the universal wheel, having invoked it, without envy.
वैकुण्ठलोकमासाद्य चतुर्बाहुनरावृतम्
Having reached the realm of Vaikuntha, surrounded by those with four arms,
प्रणमेद्वाथ यः कृत्वा विश्वचक्रं दिनेदिने
One who bows down after creating the universal wheel day by day,
तस्माच्चक्रं सदा कार्यं धार्यं च स्वगृहे नरैः
Therefore, the wheel should always be made and kept in one's own house by people.
इति सकलजगत्सुराधिवासं वितरति यस्तपनीयषोडशारम्
Thus, the one who bestows the sixteen-spoked golden wheel becomes the abode of all gods in the universe.
अथ सुदर्शनतां प्रयाति शत्रोर्मदनसुदर्शनतां च कामिनीभ्यः
Then he attains the quality of Sudarshana, and for enemies, the power of Madana and Sudarshana; for women, the same.
कृतगुरुदुरितोऽपि षोडशारप्रवितरणात्प्रवराकृतिर्मुरारेः
Even one who is burdened by a teacher's curse, by bestowing the sixteen-spoked wheel, attains the excellent form of Murari.
भुवनप्रतिष्ठावर्णनम् इह लोके परे चैव कीर्तिरत्यद्भुता तथा
Description of the establishment of worlds: In this world and the next, fame is exceedingly wondrous.
सद्गतिं च तथा यांति सर्वे पितृपितामहाः
And likewise, all ancestors and forefathers attain a noble destination.
स्थापनात्सर्वदेवानां कथं स्याद्यदुनंदन
By the installation of all the gods, how does happiness arise, O descendant of Yadu?
शृणुष्वैकमना भूत्वा गुह्यं परममुत्तमम्
Listen with a focused mind; I will tell you the supreme and most excellent secret.
भुवनानां समासेन प्रतिष्ठां कथयामि ते
I will briefly explain to you the establishment of the worlds.
प्रेताः पिशाचा भूताश्च स्थापिताः स्युर्न संशयः
There is no doubt that ghosts, spirits, and goblins are pacified by this.
पुण्ये तिथौ शिवक्षेत्रे दिने सौम्यग्रहान्विते
On an auspicious lunar day, in a sacred place of Shiva, when the day is accompanied by gentle planets,
अभिन्नांगं दृढं शुद्धं शुद्धस्फटिकवर्चसम्
One should bring an image that is intact, firm, pure, and shining with the radiance of pure crystal.
चातुर्वर्ण्यकमानीय विचित्रं चित्रकर्मणि
One should bring a four-caste image, adorned with various artistic decorations.
संपूजयित्वा यत्नेन दिव्यवासोविभूषणैः 4.191.
Having worshipped it with effort, using divine garments and ornaments,
