Adorned with all ornaments, smiling together with Vindhyāvali,
With a face full of joy, wearing a splendid crown and prominent earrings,
In the middle of the house, in a spacious hall, one should then worship.
With lotuses, water-lilies, flowers, kahlāra blooms, and red water-lilies,
With offerings of wine, meat, liquor, sweets, lamps, and wicks,
O King Bali, salutations to you, lord, son of Virocana.
Having performed such worship, the king should then keep vigil at night.
And the people, at the end of the house, on a bed, with white rice grains,
Offer gifts dedicated to Bali, O descendant of Kuru.
Whatever gift is given here, whether small or great,
The earth was regained by Viṣṇu, pleased, for Bali once again.
From that time onward, O king, the festival of Kaumudī began again.

It removes the sorrows of people, is desirable, and brings wealth, nourishment, and happiness.
By those who know the elements and by merchants, therefore this is called Kaumudī.
Because they are joyful, satisfied, and dependent on happiness, therefore this is called Kaumudī.
For the sake of wealth, O Pārtha, and on earth, therefore this is called Kaumudī.
The gift to the king of the Dānavas is like a mirror on the earth.
There, fear does not arise, nor is there fear caused by death.
All people will be free from disease and untouched by any calamity.
O Yudhishthira, as one stands with whatever disposition in this world,
If one weeps, it rains; if one rejoices, it rains joyfully.
Therefore, the festival of lights should be performed by people who are joyful and content.
When the thunder of clouds has ceased, and the ten-headed one blazes, delighting Rama,
With offerings of gourds and delightful pieces of blue lotus, and with minerals that bring good fortune,
Those noble-minded ones who, during the festival of lamps, perform the worship of King Bali, bring joy to all people.

Whether one seeks long life, nourishment, or acts with other intentions,
Having examined all the scriptures and summarized the extensive texts,
On an auspicious day, after consulting the learned, and having recited the words of the Brahmins,
