इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे ऽगस्त्यार्घ्यविधिव्रतवर्णनं नामाष्टादशोत्तरशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhavishya Mahāpurāṇa, in the Uttara Parva, in the dialogue of Śrī Krishna and Yudhishthira, the one hundred and eighteenth chapter named 'Description of the Vow and Offering to Agastya' is concluded.
अभिनवचन्द्रार्घ्यव्रतवर्णनम् शृणुष्वाभिनवस्येंदोरुदयेऽर्घ्यविधिं परम्
Hear now the supreme method of offering to the New Moon, at the rising of the new moon.
रविर्द्वादशभिर्भागैर्वारुण्यां दृश्यते यदि
If the sun is seen in the sign of Varuṇa, divided into twelve parts—
द्वितीयायां सिते पक्षे संध्याकाले ह्युपस्थिते
On the second day of the bright fortnight, when evening arrives—
गोमयं मंडलं कृत्वा चंदनेन सुशोभितम्
One should make a circle of cow dung, beautifully adorned with sandalwood.
पुष्पचन्दनधूपैश्च दीपाक्षतजलैः शुभैः
With flowers, sandalwood, incense, auspicious lamps, grains of rice, and water—
मंत्रेणानेन राजेन्द्र क्षत्रियः सपुरोहितः आप्यायस्व समेत्वेवं सोमराज नमोनमः
With this mantra, O King, the kṣatriya together with his priest should say: 'Be nourished, O King Soma, I bow to you.'
अनेनविधिनाचार्यं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
By this rite, O teacher, all desired results are bestowed.
स कीर्त्या यशसा कांत्या धन्यश्च भुवि मानवः
A man on earth becomes renowned, glorious, radiant, and blessed.
स्थित्वा वर्षशतं मर्त्ये ततः सोमपुरं व्रजेत् वरस्त्रीभिः सहात्यर्थं यावदाभूतसंप्लवम्
Having lived a hundred years among mortals, he then goes to the realm of Soma, enjoying with excellent women until the end of the world.
धर्मं समृद्धिमतुलां यदि वाञ्छसि त्वं मासानुमासमिह मद्वचनं कुरुष्व 4.119.

Thus ends the one hundred nineteenth chapter, entitled 'The Description of the Abhinava Chandra Arghya Vow,' in the dialogue between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Yudhiṣṭhira, in the Uttara Parvan of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.
शुक्रबृहस्पत्यर्घपूजावर्णनम् यात्रारंभे प्रयाणे च तथा शुक्रोदयेष्विह
On the commencement of a journey, at the time of departure, and likewise at the rising of Venus here—
शुक्रपूजा प्रकर्तव्या तां निशामय सारतः
The worship of Venus should be performed; listen attentively to its essence.
शुक्लपुष्पांबरयुते सिततंडुलपूरिते
With white flowers and garments, and filled with white rice—
सह तेन सवत्साङ्गां ब्राह्मणाय निवेदयेत् कवे सर्वार्थसिद्ध्यर्थं गृहाणार्घ्यं नमोऽस्तु ते
Along with a cow and its calf, this should be offered to a brāhmaṇa: 'O sage, for the accomplishment of all aims, receive this arghya; salutations to you.'
दत्त्वैवमर्घ्यं कौन्तेय प्रणिपत्य विसर्जयेत्
Having given the arghya in this way, O son of Kuntī, one should bow and then dismiss him.
यावच्छुक्रस्य न कृता पूजा सोहालकैः शुभै. तावन्न दानं दातव्यं स्त्रीभिः कामार्थसिद्धये
Until the worship of Venus is performed with auspicious items, no gift should be given by women for the attainment of desire.
एवं तस्योदये कुर्वन्यात्रादिषु च भारत
In this way, one should perform it at the rising of Venus and also at the start of journeys, O Bhārata.
तद्वद्वाचस्पतेः पूजां प्रवक्ष्यामि युधिष्ठिर पीतपुष्पांबरयुतं कृत्वा स्नात्वाथ सर्षपैः
In the same manner, I shall describe to you, Yudhiṣṭhira, the worship of Bṛhaspati: after bathing and donning yellow flowers and garments, and anointing with mustard oil—
पालाशाश्वत्थभंगेन पञ्चगव्यजलेन च
With the breaking of palāśa and aśvattha branches, and with the five products of the cow—
प्रणम्य च गवा सार्द्धं ब्राह्मणाय निवेदयेत् ।। 4.120.
Having bowed, together with a cow, one should offer it to a brāhmaṇa.
नमस्तेऽङ्गिरसां नाथ वाक्पतेथ बृहस्पते
Salutations to you, lord of the descendants of Aṅgiras, master of speech, O Bṛhaspati.
एवं सुरगुरुं पूज्य प्रणिपत्य क्षमापयेत्
Having thus worshipped the guru of the gods, one should bow and ask forgiveness.
अथ वा मौक्तिकान्येव सुवृत्तानि बृहंति च
Alternatively, well-formed pearls may also be given.
भक्त्या मौक्तिकदानेन दत्तेन कुरुनन्दन कुर्वन्बृहस्पतेः पूजां न कदाचित्प्रजायते
By giving pearls with devotion, O descendant of the Kurus, one who performs the worship of Bṛhaspati is never born again.
ये भार्गवोदयमवाप्य सवस्त्रपुष्पां कुर्वंत्यनन्य मनसोऽङ्गिरसे च पूजाम्
Those who, upon the rising of Venus, perform worship for Aṅgiras with unwavering mind, using garments and flowers—
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे शुक्रबृहस्पत्यर्घपूजाविधानं नाम विंशत्युत्तरशततमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred twentieth chapter, entitled 'The Procedure for the Arghya Worship of Venus and Bṛhaspati,' in the dialogue between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Yudhiṣṭhira, in the Uttara Parvan of the glorious Bhaviṣya Mahāpurāṇa.
व्रतपञ्चाशीतिवर्णनम् नोक्तानि यानि कस्यापि मुनिभिर्धर्मदर्शिभिः
Those things which have not been spoken by any sage, even by those who see the true nature of dharma,
भविष्यमत्स्यमार्तंडपुराणेषु च वर्णितम्
are described in the Bhavishya, Matsya, and Martanda Puranas.
