Then Ilvala, enraged, served him ram's meat.
He shone with purity, and then Ilvala quietly called out to Vātāpi.
Hearing this, the sage Agastya belched loudly.
He said, 'This one is digested, this one is reduced to ashes—Vātāpi, the tormentor of Brahmins.'
In an instant, he was turned to ashes, and the world became peaceful.
After deliberating and deciding on Mount Meru, they approached Agastya.
They said to Agastya, 'O Brahmin sage, please drink up the ocean.'
By him the ocean was drunk, and the waves, fish, and turtles were left confused.
All were swiftly destroyed, crying out again and again.
Then, when the ocean was filled again by the waters of the Ganga river,
all the Daityas and Danavas together churned the ocean.
Due to excessive greed, as the ocean—the reservoir of waters—was being churned,
by which the assembly of gods was tossed about as if agitated.
Emerging, they killed the sages of pure vows.
In the midst of the ocean, Brahma, Narayana, and Hara did not recognize it.
Then, by the mantras of Shankara, a little was consumed right there.
Even Brahma, regaining consciousness, spoke what was unbefitting of Brahma.
Agastya, the great sage, at the foot of Lanka in the southern direction,
Thus addressed, the gods went to the southern hermitage of Agastya.
He meditated, by which the poison entered the Himalayas.
At that time, a little of the remaining poison settled in the trees and so on.
That poison, being crushed by him, was thus contracted in a moment.
Among humans, various kinds of diseases arise on earth.
From the entry of Taurus until the end of Leo, the poison subsides.
Thus, in the course of a long time, there was freedom from disease and ailments.
Continuously, in the world of mortals, with arms raised upwards,
The people perished through the force of time, and he arrived at the abode of the great sage.
Afterwards, for the sake of Brahma's happiness, he became ashes.
Likewise, another king named Shveta, the foremost among rulers, was in the Dandaka forest.
O Lord, all else has been given; I have bestowed the kingdom and gifts.
