Perfect happiness arises for the virtuous who observe fasts, beginning from heaven and beyond.
By that name, O king, one should properly worship Acyuta among them.
Beginning with Kṛttikā, in the month of Kārttika, O best of kings,
He should offer, starting from Phālguna, the dish called saṃyāva thereafter.
With that very food, O king, the wise should feed the brāhmaṇas.
Having properly worshipped that Supreme Person, O king,
Salutations, salutations to you, Achyuta! May my sins be destroyed, and may my merit increase.
Just as you, Achyuta, are beyond the beyond, you are the Supreme Spirit, transcending even the supreme.
O Achyuta, Ananta, Govinda, be gracious; grant that which is desired.
In this way, having worshipped and prayed thus, one should seek auspiciousness.
Then, at the end of the year, when Achyuta has arisen from pleasant sleep—
One should give a gift according to one's ability, saying, 'May Achyuta be pleased.'
The worship of Achyuta should be performed, O king, with a golden image, according to one's capacity.
A great and virtuous woman, made of silver, equally worthy and accompanied by deities.
With this mantra, O king, one should bow in the prescribed manner.
That same (gift), even if given casually, should be accompanied by gold and horses.
Or, according to one's ability, one may give a single (image); with devotion, Keśava is satisfied.
Having given thus, along with an umbrella, shoes, and pairs (of other items), one should dismiss (the recipient).
Together with Śrī, one should worship and adorn Lord Viṣṇu.
By this act, O king, a person does not incur downfall; or, by any other desired means, a man does not fall.
Therefore, with all effort, through the worship of months and constellations—
A woman, endowed with austerity, became renowned as Sāṃbharāyaṇī.
Then, at a certain time, the king of the gods, Śatakratu (Indra)—
Those lords of the gods who existed before the previous Indra, and even before them—
Thus addressed at that time by the lord of the gods, shining with spotless radiance,
I do not know the ancient lords of the gods, O king of the gods.
Then the best of sages was questioned by Indra, with what means?
Bṛhaspati, after meditating for a long time, then spoke to the husband of Śacī.
Thus addressed by him, Indra was filled with curiosity.
She, seeing those two—Indra and Bṛhaspati—who had arrived,
