अनंतः सर्वकामाना मिति चोच्चारयेत्पुनः
Again, one should recite, 'Ananta is the fulfillment of all desires.'
माघे मघासु तद्वच्च बाहुं देवस्य पूजयेत्
In the month of Māgha, under the Maghā stars, likewise, one should worship the arm of the deity.
चतुर्ष्वेतेषु गोमूत्रं प्राशयेन्नृपनंदिनि
On these four occasions, one should administer cow urine, O delight of kings.
देवस्य दक्षिणं स्कन्धं चैत्रे चित्रासु पूजयेत् विप्रे प्रवाचके दद्याद्यवान्मासचतुष्टयम्
In the month of Caitra, during the Citrā constellation, one should worship the right shoulder of the deity; to a learned Brahmin, one should give barley for four months.
वैशाखे च विशाखासु बाहुं सम्पूज्य दक्षिणम्
In the month of Vaiśākha, during the Viśākhā constellation, one should worship the right arm.
ज्येष्ठासु कटिपूजां च ज्येष्ठमासि शुभव्रते
During the Jyeṣṭhā constellation in the auspicious month of Jyeṣṭha, one should worship the waist.
पादद्वयं तु श्रवणे श्रावणे मासि पूजयेत्
In the Śravaṇa constellation, during the month of Śrāvaṇa, one should worship both feet.
श्रावणादिषु मासेषु प्राशनं दानमेव च 4.106.
In the months beginning with Śrāvaṇa, one should perform both offering and donation.
गुह्यं प्रोष्ठपदायोगे मासि भाद्रपदेऽर्चयेत्
During the conjunction with Proṣṭhapada, in the month of Bhādrapada, one should worship the secret part.
कुर्यात्समाहितमनाः स्नानं प्राशनमर्चनम्
With concentrated mind, one should perform bathing, offering, and worship.
यस्मिन्यस्मिन्दिने पूजा तत्रतत्र तदा दिने
On whichever day the worship is performed, on that very day at that place, it should be done.
घृतेनानंतमुद्दिश्य पूर्वं मासचतुष्टयम्
For the first four months, one should offer clarified butter, invoking Ananta.
क्षीरेण श्रावणादौ च होमो मासचतुष्टयम्
From Śrāvaṇa onward, for four months, one should perform the fire offering with milk.
एवं द्वादशभिर्मासैः पारणात्रितयं शुभे
Thus, with twelve months, three auspicious fasts are completed.
राजतं मुसलं चैव हलं पार्श्वेषु विन्यसेत्
One should place a silver pestle and plough at the sides.
ताम्रपीठोपरि हरेर्मन्त्रैरेभिर्यथाक्रमम्
Upon a copper seat, with the mantras of Hari, these should be arranged in order.
शेषाय जानुयुगलं कामायेति कटिं नमः
For Śeṣa, one should worship the pair of knees; for Kāma, the waist, with the salutation.
संकर्षणायेत्युदरं भुजं सर्वासुधारिणे 4.106.
For Saṃkarṣaṇa, the abdomen; for the arm, to the bearer of all nectar.
हलं च मुसलं चैव स्वनाम्ना पूजयेद्बुधः
A wise person should worship the plough and pestle by their respective names.
छत्रोपानत्सुसंयुक्तं स्रग्दामालंकृतं तथा
With umbrella and shoes joined, and adorned with garlands and ornaments likewise.
सोमो नक्षत्रराजश्च मासः संवत्सरं तथा
Soma, the king of the stars, as well as the month and the year.
एवं संपूज्य विधिवद्देवदेवं जनार्दनम्
Thus, having worshipped Janardana, the god of gods, according to the prescribed method.
कर्णांगुलैः पवित्रैश्च शांतं दांतं जितेन्द्रियम्
With pure fingers and ears, calm, restrained, and master of the senses.
तस्मै देयं समस्तं तदनन्तः प्रीयतामिति
To him, everything should be given, so that the infinite may be pleased.
अनेन विधिना पार्थ व्रतं चैतत्समाप्यते
By this procedure, O Partha, this vow is completed.
पुत्रार्थिभिर्वित्तकामैर्भृत्यदारानभीप्सुभिः
By those desiring sons, wealth, or not wishing for servants and wives.
एतद्व्रतं महाभागे पुण्यं स्वस्त्ययनप्रदम्
This vow, O highly fortunate one, is holy and brings auspiciousness.
तत्कुरुष्वैव देवि त्वं व्रतं शीलधने परम् 4.106.
Therefore, O lady, you should indeed perform this vow, which is supreme in virtue and conduct.
चकारैतद्व्रतवरं सा विष्ण्वाहितमानसा
She performed this excellent vow, her mind devoted to Vishnu.
पुत्रार्थिन्यास्ततस्तस्माद्व्रतेनानेन सुव्रत
Therefore, O virtuous one, by this vow, for the woman desiring a son.
