इति धूपमंत्रः त्वमेव ज्योतिषां ज्योतिर्दीपोऽयं प्रतिगृह्यताम्
Thus is the incense mantra: You alone are the light of lights; may this lamp be accepted.
इति दीपमंत्रः भक्ष्यभोज्यसमायुक्तं प्रसीद परमेश्वर
Thus is the lamp mantra: With offerings of food and delicacies, be gracious, Supreme Lord.
अन्नं प्रजापतिर्विष्णू रुद्रेंद्रशशिभास्कराः
Food is offered by Prajapati, Vishnu, Rudra, Indra, the moon, and the sun.
इति नैवेद्यमंत्रः जलाशयो जगद्योनिः प्रीयतां मे जनार्दनः
Thus is the naivedya mantra: May Janardana, who dwells in water and is the source of the universe, be pleased with me.
इति प्रीणनमंत्रः नतोऽस्मि मथुरावासं माधवं मधुसूदनम्
Thus is the pleasing mantra: I bow to Madhava, the resident of Mathura, the slayer of Madhu.
नमो वामनरूपाय नमस्तेऽस्तु त्रिविक्रम
Salutations to the one with the form of Vamana; salutations to you, Trivikrama.
इति नमस्कारमंत्रः 4.76.
Thus is the salutation mantra.
अघौघसंक्षयं कृत्वा सर्वकामप्रदो भव
Having destroyed the multitude of sins, become the giver of all desires.
इति प्रार्थनामंत्रः विश्वेश्वरश्च विष्णुश्च श्रीशायी च नमोनमः
Thus is the prayer mantra: Salutations again and again to Viśveśvara, to Vishnu, and to Śrīśāyī.
इति शयनमंत्रः जागरं तत्र कुर्वीत गीतवादित्रनिस्वनैः
Thus is the resting mantra: One should remain awake there, with the sounds of song and musical instruments.
या च श्रवणसंयुक्ता द्वादशी परमा तिथिः
And that supreme twelfth day, joined with the hearing, is the best lunar date.
एवं संपूज्य यत्नेन प्रभाते विमले सति
Thus, having worshipped with effort, when the pure morning arrives—
ब्राह्मणश्चापि मन्त्रेण प्रतिगृह्णीत मंत्रवत्
The Brahmin, too, should accept with mantra, as prescribed by mantra.
( ॐ गुह्ये । ॐ शिरसि । ॐ पादयोः । ॐ नाभौ ।। ॐ भुजयोः । ॐ सर्वांगे । सर्वात्मने नमः नरो दद्यादुपोष्यैवमेकादश्यां समंत्रकम्
(Om to the secret place; Om to the head; Om to the feet; Om to the navel; Om to the arms; Om to the whole body; Salutations to the all-pervading one.) A man should give, having fasted thus on the eleventh day, with mantra.
पूर्वोक्तविधिना प्रातर्भोजनं पृषदाज्यकम्
According to the previously stated procedure, the morning meal should be with barley and clarified butter.
भूयोभूयोऽपि राजेंद्र सर्वत्रैवं विधिः स्मृतः
Again and again, O king, this rule is remembered everywhere.
चतुर्युगानि राजेंद्र एकसप्ततिसंख्यया 4.76.
O king, the four ages are counted as seventy-one in number.
इहागत्य भवेद्राजा प्रतिपक्षक्षयंकरः
Having come here, the king becomes the destroyer of adversaries.
रूपसौभाग्यसंपन्नो दीर्घायुर्नीरुजो भवेत्
One endowed with beauty and good fortune becomes long-lived and free from disease.
एतस्याः फलमाख्यातमेकादश्या मया तव
I have declared to you the fruit of this Ekadashi.
उपोष्यैकादशीं पश्चाद्द्वादशीमप्युपोषयेत्
After observing Ekadashi, one should also observe Dwadashi.
(एकादशीद्वादश्योरन्यतरस्यां श्रवणयुक्तायां श्रवणयुक्तोपवासेनैव बतद्वयसिद्धिः बुधश्रवणसंयुक्ता द्वादशी संगमोदकम्
When either Ekadashi or Dwadashi falls with Shravan, by fasting with Shravan, the benefit of both is attained; when Dwadashi coincides with Wednesday and Shravan, it is called Sangamodaka.
सगरेण ककुत्स्थेन धुंधुमारेण गाधिना
With Sagara, Kakutstha, Dhundhumara, and Gadhi.
सा द्वादशी बुधयुता श्रवणेन साकं स्याद्वै जयाय कथिता ऋषिभिर्नभस्ये
That Dwadashi, joined with Wednesday and Shravan, is said by the sages to bring victory in the month of Nabhasya.
इति श्रीभविष्ये महापुराण उत्तरपर्वणि श्रीकृष्णयुधिष्ठिरसंवादे विजयश्रवणद्वादशीव्रतवर्णनं नाम षट्सप्ततितमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Bhavishya Mahapurana, in the Uttaraparva, in the dialogue between Shri Krishna and Yudhishthira, the seventy-sixth chapter named 'Description of the Vijaya Shravan Dwadashi Vow' concludes.
सम्प्राप्तिद्वादशीव्रतवर्णनम् पौषादिपारणं मासैः षड्भिर्ज्येष्ठांतिकं स्मृतम्
The description of the Samprapti Dwadashi vow: The completion from Pausha onward is considered to end in Jyeshtha after six months.
प्रथमं पुंडरीकाक्षं नाम कृष्णस्य गीयते
The first is called Pundarikaksha, sung for Krishna.
पुरुषोत्तमाख्यं तु ततः पंचमेऽच्युतसंज्ञकम्
Next, the fifth is known as Purushottama, and then as Achyuta.
पूर्वोक्तेषु च मासेषु स्नानप्राशन योस्तिलाः
In the previously mentioned months, sesame is used for bathing and eating.
स्नानं च प्राशनं चैव पंचगव्यं सदेष्यते । प्रतिमासं च देवेश कृत्वा पूजां यथाविधि
Bathing and eating Panchagavya are prescribed; and every month, O Lord of the gods, worship should be performed as prescribed.
