गरुडासनाः साभरणा मुकुटोत्कट कुंडलाः
Seated on Garuda thrones, adorned with ornaments, splendid crowns, and earrings.
लक्ष्मीधरा मेघवर्णाः कूर्पराङ्गदभूषणाः
Bearing Lakshmi, cloud-hued, adorned with armlets at the elbows.
तस्मादेत्य महातेजाः पृथिव्यां नृपपूजिताः
There, having arrived, those of great brilliance are honored by kings on earth.
ततो यांति परं स्थानं मोक्षमार्गं शिवं शुभम्
Then they attain the supreme abode, the auspicious and blissful path of liberation.
ये द्वादशीमुपवसंति सितामरण्यनाम्नीं वने द्विजवरानथ भोजयंति
Those who observe the Dvadashi fast in the forest called Sitamaranya and feed the best of twice-born.
रोहिणीचन्द्रव्रतवर्णनम् मयूरकेकाकुलिते दर्दुरारावपूरिते

कुलस्त्रियः प्रयच्छंति कस्यान्नं काऽत्र देवता
When women of the family offer food, to whom is it given, and which deity is honored here?
एकादश्यां शुचिर्भूत्वा सर्वौषधिजलैः शुभैः
On the eleventh day, having become pure, with all auspicious medicinal waters—
माषचूर्णेन राजेन्द्र कुर्यादिंदुरिकाशनम्
With flour of black gram, O King, one should prepare the food called Indurīkā.
नरमेकैकमुद्दिश्य ततो गत्वा जलाशयम्
Designating each portion for a man, then going to a reservoir of water—
तस्यैव पुलिने रम्ये जुष्टान्ने गोमयादिना
On its pleasant bank, with purified food and cow dung and such—
चर्चितं गंधकुसुमैर्धूप दीपाक्षतोज्ज्वलम् अर्चयेच्च सभार्यो वै मन्त्रेणानेन भावितः
Having adorned it with fragrant flowers, incense, lamps, and shining grains, one should worship, together with his wife, with this mantra, filled with devotion:
सोमराज नमस्तुभ्यं रोहिण्यै ते नमोनमः
O King Soma, I bow to you; to Rohiṇī, I bow again and again.
एवं संपूज्य तस्याग्रे नैवेद्यं देयमर्चितम् प्रीयतामिति मे देवी रोहिणी सहितप्रिया
Thus having worshiped, before them, the consecrated offering should be given, saying: 'May the goddess Rohiṇī, together with her beloved, be pleased with me.'
एवमुच्चार्य दत्त्वा च ततोंऽतर्जलमाविशेत् 4.67.
Having spoken thus and given the offering, then one should enter the water.
ध्यायेच्च मनसा सोमं रोहिणीसहितं तदा
Then, with the mind, one should meditate upon Soma together with Rohiṇī.
नियम्य वसतां चान्ये ततो विप्राय भोजनम् भक्त्या शक्त्या यथाचित्तं यथावित्तं तथा तथा
Having restrained oneself, and after others have eaten, food should be given to a Brahmin, with devotion, according to one's ability, as the mind and means allow.
यः करोति नरो राजन्नारी वाथ कुमारिका
Whoever performs this, O King—man, woman, or maiden—
इह लोके चिरं स्थित्वा धनधान्यसमाकुले
In this world, they remain for a long time, surrounded by wealth and grain.
ततः सुतीर्थे मरणं ततो ब्रह्मपुरं व्रजेत्
Then, dying at a sacred place, they go to the city of Brahma.
खे रोहिणी शशधराभिमता हिता च किं कारणं शृणु नरेन्द्र निवेदयामि
In the sky, Rohiṇī, beloved of the moon-bearer, is auspicious and favorable; what is the reason for this? Listen, O King, I shall explain.
अवियोगव्रतवर्णनम् विधानं तस्य कीदृक्च किं पुण्यं काऽत्र देवता
