दोधकं भगभागौ स्यात् शालिनी मतभागगौ । यतिः समुद्रा ऋषयः वातोर्म्मी मभतागगौ ।। ३३४.
Dodhaka and Bhagabhāgau are meters; Śālinī and Matabhāgagau as well. Yati is Samudrā, Ṛṣayaḥ is Vātormī, and Mabhatāgagau is so called.
चतुःस्वरा स्याद्भ्रमरी विलासिता मभौनलौ । समुद्रा अथ ऋषयो वनौ लौगौ रथोद्धता ।। ३३४.
Bhramarī is four-syllabled, Vilāsitā is Mabhaunalau. Samudrā and Ṛṣayaḥ are Vanau, and Laugau is Rathoddhatā.
सामताधनभागौगोवृत्ताननसमाश्च सः । श्येनी वजवनागः स्याद्रम्या नपरगागगः ।। ३३४.
Sāmatā, Dhanabhāgauga, and Vṛttānanasamā are such. Śyenī is Vajavanāga, and Ramyā is Naparagāgaga.
जगती वंशस्था वृत्तं जतौ जावथ तौ जवौ । इन्द्रवंशा तोटकं सैरचतुर्भिः प्रतिपादतः ।। ३३४.
Jagatī is established in the Vaṃśa meter; Vṛtta, Jatau, and Jāvatha are Javau. Indravaṃśā is Toṭaka, and Saira is with four at the beginning.
भवेद्द्रुतविलम्बिता नभौ भवावथौ नलौ । स्यौ श्रीपुठो वसुवेदा जलोगतिजलौ जमौ ।। ३३४.
Drutavilambitā is a meter, Nabhau, Bhavāvathau, and Nalau as well. Śrīpuṭha, Vasuveda, Jalogati, Jalau, and Jamau are also known.
जसौ वसर्व्ववश्चाथ ततं ननमराः स्मृतं । कुशुमविचित्रान्यौ द्यौ नौ नौ रौ स्याच्चलाम्बिका ।। ३३४.
Jasau and Vasarvvavaś are so called, and Tataṃ is known as Nanamarā. Kuśumavicitrā is twofold, Dyau, Nau, and Rau are Calāmbikā.
भुजङ्गप्र्यातं थैः स्याच्चतुभिः स्राग्विनीभवैः । प्रमिताक्षरा गजौ सौ कान्तोत्पीड़ा मतौ समौ ।। ३३४.
Bhujaṅgapryāta is composed of four Thai syllables, and Srāgvinī is formed similarly. Pramitākṣarā is Gajau, Sau is Kantu, and Utphīrā is Matau Samau.
वैश्वदेवी ममयायाः पञ्चाङ्गा नवमालिनी । नजौ भयौ प्रतिपादं गणा यदि जगत्यपि ।। ३३४.
Vaiśvadevī is of Mamayāyā, Pañcāṅgā is Navamālinī. Najau and Bhayau are at the beginning, and Gaṇā is present even in Jagatī.
प्रहर्षणी मवजवा गोपतिर्बह्निदिक्षु च । रुचिरा जभसजगा च्छिन्ना वेदैर्ग्रहैः स्मृता ।। ३३४.
The Praharṣaṇī, Mavajavā, Gopati, and Bahnidikṣu are known; the Rucirā, Jabhasajagā, and Chinnā are said to be defined by Vedic meters and planetary influences.
मत्तमयूरं मतया सगौ वेदग्रहे यतिः । गौरीनलनसागः स्यादसम्बाधा नतौ नगौ ।। ३३४.
The Mattamayūra, together with the Matayā and Sagau, is established by Vedic meters; the Gaurī, Nalanasāga, and Asambādhā are not associated with mountains.
गोग इन्द्रियनवकौ ननौ वसनगाः स्वराः । स्वराश्चापराजिता स्यान्ननभाननगाः स्वराः ।। ३३४.
Goga, Indriyanavaka, Nanau, and Vasanagā are svaras; the Aparājitā is also a svara, as are the Nanabhānanagā.
द्विःप्रहरणकलिता वसन्ततिलका नभौ । जौ गौ सिंहोन्नता सा स्यान्मुनेरुद्धर्षणी च सा ।। ३३४.
The Dviḥpraharaṇakalitā, Vasantatilakā, and Nabhau, along with Jau, Gau, and Siṃhonnatā, are forms; the Muni’s Uddharṣaṇī is also such.
चन्द्रावर्त्ता ननौ सोमावर्त्तर्तुनवकः स्मृतः । मणिगुणनिकरा सौ मालिनौ नौ मयौ ययः ।। ३३४.
Candrāvarttā, Nanau, and Somāvartta are known as the nine seasons; Maṇiguṇanikarā, Sau, Mālinau, Nau, Mayau, and Yayaḥ are also included.
यतिर्वसुस्वरा भौ वौ नतलमित्रसग्रहाः । ऋषभगजविलासितं ज्ञेया शिखरिणी जगौ ।। ३३४.
Yatirvasusvarā, Bhau, Vau, and Natalamitrasagrahā are mentioned; the Śikhariṇī, marked by the playfulness of bulls and elephants, is to be known.
रसभालभृगुरुद्राः पृथ्वीजसजसा जनौ । गोवसुग्रहविच्छिन्ना पिह्गलेनेरिता पुरा ।। ३३४.
Rasabhā, Labhṛgurudrā, Pṛthvījasajasā, and Janau are described; Govasugrahavicchinnā is said to have been proclaimed by Piṅgala in ancient times.
वंशपत्रपतितं स्याद् भवना भौ नगौ सदिक् । हरिणी नसमारः सो नगौ रसचतुःस्वराः ।। ३३४.
Vaṃśapatrapatita is found; Bhavanā, Bhau, Nagau, and Sadik are mentioned; Hariṇī, Nasamāra, and Nagau are associated with the four rasas.
मन्दाक्रान्ता नभनतं तगौगछिरसस्वराः । कुसुमितलता वेल्लिता मतना यययाः शराः ।। ३३४.
Mandākrāntā, Nabhanata, Tagauga, and Chirasasvarā are included; Kusumitalatā, Vellitā, Matanā, and Yayayāḥ are the arrows.
रथाः स्व्राः प्रतिरथससजाः सततश्च गः । शार्दूलविक्रीड़ितं स्यादादित्यमुनयो यतिः ।। ३३४.
Rathāḥ are svaras; Pratirathasasajāḥ are always present; Śārdūlavikrīr̤ita is established, as are Āditya, Munaya, and Yati.
कृतिः सुवदना मोरो भनया भनगाः सुराः । यतिर्मुनिरसाश्चाथ इति वृत्तं क्रमात् स्मृतम् ।। ३३४.
Kṛtiḥ, Suvadanā, Moro, Bhanayā, Bhanagāḥ, and Surāḥ are mentioned; Yati, Muni, and Rasāḥ are then remembered as the sequence of meters.
स्रग्ध्रा मरतानोमोयपौ त्रिःसप्तका यतिः । समुद्रकं भरजानोवनगा दशभास्कराः ।। ३३४.
Sragdhrā, Maratā, Nomoya, and Pau are thrice seven in measure; Samudraka, Bharajāna, and Vanagā are the ten Bhāskarāḥ.
अस्वललितं नजभा जभजा भनमीशतः । मत्ताक्रीड़ा ममनना नौनग्नौ गोष्टमातिथिः ।। ३३४.
Asvalalita, Najabhā, Jabhajā, and Bhanamīśata are described; Mattākrīr̤ā, Mamananā, Naunagnau, and Goṣṭamātithi are also included.
तन्वी भनतसाभोभो लयो वाणसुरार्क्ककाः । क्रौञ्चपदा भमतता नौ नौ वाण्शराष्टतः ।। ३३४.
Tanvī, Bhanatasābhobho, Laya, Vāṇasurārkkakāḥ, Krauñcapadā, Bhamatatā, Nau, Nau, and Vāṇśarāṣṭataḥ are mentioned.
भुजङ्गविजृम्भितं ममतना ननवासनौ । गष्टेशमुनिभिश्छेदो ह्युहाराख्यमीदृशम् ।। ३३४.
Bhujaṅgavijṛmbhita, Mamatanā, Nanavāsanau, and Gaṣṭeśamuni are described; the division by sages is called Uhārā.
मननानतानः सो गगौ ग्रहरसो रसात् । नौ सप्तरोदण्डदः स्याच्चण्डवृष्टिप्रघातकं ।। ३३४.
Mananānatāna, So, Gagau, Graharaso, and Rasāt are included; Nau, Saptarodaṇḍada, and Caṇḍavṛṣṭipraghātaka are also mentioned.
रेफवृद्ध्या णणवा स्युर्व्यालजीमूतमुख्यकाः । शेषे वै प्रचिता ज्ञेया गाथाप्रस्तार उच्यते ।। ३३४.
With the increase of the letter 'repha', ṇaṇavā are the principal among Vyālajīmūta; the rest are to be known as Pracitā, called the Gāthāprastāra.
अग्निरुवाच छन्दोऽत्र सिद्धं गाथा स्यात् पादे सर्व्वगुरौ तथा । प्रस्तार आद्यगाथोनः परतुल्योऽथ पूर्व्वगः ।। ३३५.
Agni said: Here, the meter is established; Gāthā occurs in a pāda with all heavy syllables; the Prastāra is the first Gāthā, and the subsequent ones are equal or prior.
नष्टमध्ये समेऽङ्कोनः समेऽर्द्ध विषमे गुरुः । प्रतिलोमगुणं नाद्यं द्विरुद्दिष्टग एकनुत् ।। ३३५.
In the middle, a lost one is equal-angled; at the half, in the uneven, it is heavy; the contrary quality is not first, nor is it twice stated, nor once omitted.
सङ्ख्याद्विरर्द्धे रूपे तु शून्यं शून्ये द्विरीरितं । तावदर्द्धे तद्गुणितं द्वि द्व्यूनञ्च तदन्ततः ।। ३३५.
When the number is doubled at the half, the form is zero; in zero, it is twice pronounced; so much at the half, that multiplied, and two less than two at the end.
परे पूर्णं परे पूर्णं मेरुप्रस्तारतो भवेत् । नगसंख्या वृत्तसंख्या चाध्वाङ्गुलमधोद्र्धतः ।। ३३५.
At the end, it is complete; at the end, it is complete, as from the Meru arrangement; the number of peaks and the number of circles are measured above and below by finger-breadths.
सङ्ख्यैव द्विगुणैकोना छन्दः सारोऽथमीरितः ।। ३३५.
The meter's essence is declared to be the number itself, doubled and increased by one.
