पिषमञ्चैव वास्यूनमतिवृत्तं समान्यपि । ग्लौचतुःप्रमाणी स्यादाभ्यामन्यद्वितानकं ।। ३३२.
Unequal and deficient are called ati-vṛtta, and even the equal; glauca is of four measures, and from these, vitānaka is another.
पादस्याद्यन्तु वक्रं स्यात् शनौ न प्रथमास्मृतौ । बाल्यमुश्चतुर्थाद्वर्णात् पथ्या वर्णं युजेयतः ।। ३३२.
The beginning of the foot is to be curved, but not the first in the śana measure; childhood is from the fourth syllable, and the proper syllable is to be joined accordingly.
विपरीतपथ्यान्या साच्चपला वा युजस्वनः । विपुलायुग्नसप्तमः सर्व्वं तस्यैव तस्य च ।। ३३२.
Another, being the reverse of the proper, is called capalā; the seventh is vipulāyugna, and all belong to that and to this.
तौन्तौ वा विपुलानेका चक्रजातिः समीरिता । भवेन् पदचतुरूद्र्ध्वं चतुर्वृद्ध्या पदेषु च ।। ३३२.
Tauntau or many vipulās are called the cakra type; there are four feet above, and in the feet, four increases.
गुरुद्वयान्त आपीडः प्रत्यापीडो गणादिकः । प्रथमस्य विपर्य्यासे मञ्जरी लवणी क्रमात् ।। ३३२.
Ending with two gurus is called āpīḍa, pratyāpīḍa is of the gaṇa type; when the first is reversed, mañjarī and lavaṇī arise in order.
भवेदमृतधाराख्या उद्धताद्य्चयतेऽधुना । एकतः ससजसानः स्युर्न सौ जो गोऽथ भौनजौ ।। ३३२.
It is called amṛtadhārā when raised, as is now stated; on one side, sasajasāna, and not sau, jo, go, or bhaunaja.
नोगोऽथ सजसा गोगस्तृतीयचरणस्य च । सौरभे केचनभगा ललितञ्च नमौ जसौ ।। ३३२.
Not go, nor sajasā, nor goga in the third foot; in saurabha, some are bhagā, and lalita and namau are jasau.
उपस्थितं प्रचुपितं प्रथमाद्यं समौ जसौ । गोगथां मलजा रोगः समो नगरजयाः पदे ।। ३३२.
Upasthita and pracupita are the first, samau and jasau; gogathā is malajā, roga is sama, and nagaraja is in the foot.
वर्द्धमानं मलौ स्वौ नसौ अथो भोजोव इरिता । शुद्धविराड़ार्षभाख्यं वक्ष्ये चार्द्धसमन्ततः ।। ३३२.
Vardhamāna is malau, svau, nasau, and also bhojova as stated; I will explain the pure, vira, and ṛṣabha types, and also the half-samantataḥ.
अग्निरुवाच उपचित्रकं ससमनामथभोजभगामय । द्रूतमध्या ततभगागथोननजयाः स्मृताः ।। ३३३.
Agni said: Upacitraka is with samana, or with bhoja and bhaga; druta and madhya are with bhaga, gatha, and nanajaya as remembered.
वेगवती ससमगा भभभगोगथो स्मृता । रुद्रविस्तारस्तोसभगासमजागोगथा स्मृता ।। ३३३.
The meter named Vegavatī is composed of equal parts; Bhabhabhagogatha is so called. Rudravistāra is that which has the same parts as Tosabhagā, and Samajāgogathā is so named.
रजसागोगथोद्रोणौ गोगौ वै केतुमत्यपि । आख्यानिकी ततजगागथोततजगागथ ।। ३३३.
Rajasāgogatha and Udroṇa are meters; Gogā is also Ketumatī. Ākhyānikī comes next, then Jagāgatha and Tatajagāgatha.
विपरीताख्यानिकी त्तौ जयगातौ जगोगथ । सौमलौ गथलभभावौ भवेद्धरिणवल्लभा ।। ३३३.
Viparītākhyānikī is that which is contrary; Jayagātau and Jagogatha follow. Saumala and Gathalabhabhāva are meters, and Dhariṇavallabhā is to be known.
लौवनौगाथनजजा यः स्यादपरक्रमं । पुष्पिता ननवयानजजावोगथो रजौ ।। ३३३.
Lauvanaugātha and Najajā are those which lack further progression. Puṣpitā and Nanavayānajajā, and Vogatha in the Rajas meter.
वोजथो जवजवागौ मूले पनमती शिखा । अष्टाविंशतिनागाभा त्रिशन्नागन्ततो युजि । खञ्जा तद्विपरीता स्यात् समवृत्तं प्रदर्श्यते ।। ३३३.
Vojatha and Javajavāga are at the root, Panamatī is at the crest. There are twenty-eight Nāga meters, and thirty-six are joined together. Khañjā is the contrary form of that, and Samavṛtta is shown.
अग्निरुवाच यतिविच्छेद इत्युक्तस्तत्तन्मध्यान्तयौ गणौ । यौसः कुमारलालिता तौ गौ चित्रपदा स्मृता ।। ३३४.
Agni said: The so-called Yativiccheda consists of two groups, one in the middle and one at the end. The meter called Kumāralālitā is thus, and Gau is known as Citrapadā.
विद्युन्माला मममागणैर्भूतगणैर्भवेत् । माणवकाक्रीड़ितकं वनौ हलमुखी वसः ।। ३३४.
Vidyunmālā is formed with Mamamāgaṇa groups, and with Bhūtagaṇa groups. Māṇavaka is playful, Vanau is Halamukhī, and Vasa is so called.
स्याद्भुजङ्गशिशुसूतानौ मेहनं मरुतं ननौ। भवेच्छुद्धविराड्वृत्तं प्रतिपादं समौ जगौ ।। ३३४.
Bhujaṅgaśiśu and Sūtānau are meters; Mehana is Maruta, and Nanau is so called. The pure Virāḍvṛtta is present, and Pratipāda and Samau are Jagau.
पणवोमलयोमः स्याज्जौ गौ मयूरसारिणी । सत्तामभसगा वृत्तं भजताद्युपरिस्थिता ।। ३३४.
Paṇava and Malayomaḥ are meters; Jauga is Mayūrasāriṇī. Sattāmabhasagā is a meter, and Vṛtta is placed above the beginning.
रुक्मवती भससगाविन्द्रावज्रा तजौ जगौ । जतौ जगौ गूपपूर्व्वावाद्यन्ताद्युपजातयः ।। ३३४.
Rukmavatī and Bhasasagā are meters, Indravajrā and Tajau are Jagau. Jatau and Jagau are preceded by Gūpa, and Upajātis begin and end with these.
दोधकं भगभागौ स्यात् शालिनी मतभागगौ । यतिः समुद्रा ऋषयः वातोर्म्मी मभतागगौ ।। ३३४.
Dodhaka and Bhagabhāgau are meters; Śālinī and Matabhāgagau as well. Yati is Samudrā, Ṛṣayaḥ is Vātormī, and Mabhatāgagau is so called.
चतुःस्वरा स्याद्भ्रमरी विलासिता मभौनलौ । समुद्रा अथ ऋषयो वनौ लौगौ रथोद्धता ।। ३३४.
Bhramarī is four-syllabled, Vilāsitā is Mabhaunalau. Samudrā and Ṛṣayaḥ are Vanau, and Laugau is Rathoddhatā.
सामताधनभागौगोवृत्ताननसमाश्च सः । श्येनी वजवनागः स्याद्रम्या नपरगागगः ।। ३३४.
Sāmatā, Dhanabhāgauga, and Vṛttānanasamā are such. Śyenī is Vajavanāga, and Ramyā is Naparagāgaga.
जगती वंशस्था वृत्तं जतौ जावथ तौ जवौ । इन्द्रवंशा तोटकं सैरचतुर्भिः प्रतिपादतः ।। ३३४.
Jagatī is established in the Vaṃśa meter; Vṛtta, Jatau, and Jāvatha are Javau. Indravaṃśā is Toṭaka, and Saira is with four at the beginning.
भवेद्द्रुतविलम्बिता नभौ भवावथौ नलौ । स्यौ श्रीपुठो वसुवेदा जलोगतिजलौ जमौ ।। ३३४.
Drutavilambitā is a meter, Nabhau, Bhavāvathau, and Nalau as well. Śrīpuṭha, Vasuveda, Jalogati, Jalau, and Jamau are also known.
जसौ वसर्व्ववश्चाथ ततं ननमराः स्मृतं । कुशुमविचित्रान्यौ द्यौ नौ नौ रौ स्याच्चलाम्बिका ।। ३३४.
Jasau and Vasarvvavaś are so called, and Tataṃ is known as Nanamarā. Kuśumavicitrā is twofold, Dyau, Nau, and Rau are Calāmbikā.
भुजङ्गप्र्यातं थैः स्याच्चतुभिः स्राग्विनीभवैः । प्रमिताक्षरा गजौ सौ कान्तोत्पीड़ा मतौ समौ ।। ३३४.
Bhujaṅgapryāta is composed of four Thai syllables, and Srāgvinī is formed similarly. Pramitākṣarā is Gajau, Sau is Kantu, and Utphīrā is Matau Samau.
वैश्वदेवी ममयायाः पञ्चाङ्गा नवमालिनी । नजौ भयौ प्रतिपादं गणा यदि जगत्यपि ।। ३३४.
Vaiśvadevī is of Mamayāyā, Pañcāṅgā is Navamālinī. Najau and Bhayau are at the beginning, and Gaṇā is present even in Jagatī.
प्रहर्षणी मवजवा गोपतिर्बह्निदिक्षु च । रुचिरा जभसजगा च्छिन्ना वेदैर्ग्रहैः स्मृता ।। ३३४.
The Praharṣaṇī, Mavajavā, Gopati, and Bahnidikṣu are known; the Rucirā, Jabhasajagā, and Chinnā are said to be defined by Vedic meters and planetary influences.
मत्तमयूरं मतया सगौ वेदग्रहे यतिः । गौरीनलनसागः स्यादसम्बाधा नतौ नगौ ।। ३३४.
The Mattamayūra, together with the Matayā and Sagau, is established by Vedic meters; the Gaurī, Nalanasāga, and Asambādhā are not associated with mountains.
