आदौ सिद्धः स्थितो मन्त्रे तदन्ते तद्वदेव हि । मध्ये रिपुसहस्राणि न दोषाय भवन्ति हि ।। ३२५.
If siddha is at the beginning of the mantra and at the end likewise, even thousands of enemies in the middle do not cause harm.
मायाप्रसादप्रणवेनांशकः ख्यातमन्त्रके । ब्रह्मांशको ब्र्ह्मविद्या विष्ण्वङ्गो वैष्णवः स्मृतः ।। ३२५.
With the portion of māyā, prasāda, and praṇava, the mantra is renowned; the portion of Brahmā is brahmavidyā, the portion of Viṣṇu is called Vaiṣṇava.
रुद्रांशको भवेद्वीर इन्द्रांशश्चेश्वरप्रियः । नागांशो नागस्तब्धाक्षो यक्षांशो भूषणप्रियः ।। ३२५.
A portion of Rudra gives rise to a valiant man; a portion of Indra, one dear to the lord; a portion of the Nāga, a man with steadfast eyes; a portion of the Yakṣa, one fond of ornaments.
गन्धर्व्वाशोऽतिगीतादि भीमांशो राक्षसांशकः । दैत्यांशः स्याद् युद्धकार्य्यो मानी विद्याधरांशकः ।। ३२५.
A portion of the Gandharva brings one excessively fond of singing and the like; a portion of Bhīma, one with a demonic aspect; a portion of the Daitya, one inclined to battle; a proud man is of Vidyādhara portion.
पिशाचांशो मलाक्रान्तो मन्त्रं दद्यान्निरीक्ष्य च । मन्त्र एकात् फड़न्तः स्यात् विद्यापञ्चाशतावधि ।। ३२५.
A portion of the Piśāca is one afflicted by impurity; he should give the mantra after examination; the mantra, ending with 'phat', extends up to fifty syllables in knowledge.
बाला विंशाक्षरान्ता च रुद्रा द्वाविंशगायुधा । तत ऊर्द्ध्वन्तु ये मन्त्रा वृद्वा यावच्छतत्रयं ।। ३२५.
The Bālā mantra ends with twenty syllables, the Rudrā with twenty-two weapons; above that are the mantras, O wise one, up to seventy-six syllables.
अकारादिहकारान्ताः क्रमात् पक्षौ सितासितौ । अनुस्वारविसर्गेण विना चैव स्वरा दश ।। ३२५.
From the letter 'a' to the letter 'ha', in order, the two groups are white and black; without anusvāra and visarga, there are ten vowels.
ह्रस्वाः शुक्ला दीर्घाः श्यामांस्तिथयः प्रतिपन्मुखाः । उदिते शान्तिकादीनि भ्रमिते वश्यकादिकम् ।। ३२५.
Short vowels are white, long vowels are dark; the lunar phases proceed from the first day; at sunrise, rites for peace and so on, at moonrise, those for subjugation and the like.
भ्रामिते सन्धयो द्वेषोच्चाटने स्तम्भनेऽस्तकम् । इहावाहे शान्तिकाद्यं पिङ्गले कर्षणादिकम् ।। ३२५.
When the moon is in motion, junctions are for enmity, expulsion, and immobilization; when the moon is stationary, rites for peace and so on; in the tawny phase, rites for attraction and the like.
मारणोच्चाटनादीनि विषुवे पञ्चधा पृथक् । अधरस्य गृहे पृथ्वी ऊर्द्ध्वे तेजोऽन्तरा द्रवः ।। ३२५.
Rites such as killing and expulsion are performed separately in five ways during the equinox; in the lower part is earth, above is fire, and in between is liquid.
रन्ध्रपार्श्वे बहिर्वायुः सर्वं व्याप्य महेश्वरः । स्तम्भनं पार्थिवे शान्तिर्ज्जले वश्यादि तेजसे ।। ३२५.
At the sides and openings is air, outside is wind; pervading all is Maheśvara; immobilization is of earth, peace is of water, subjugation and the like are of fire.
ईश्वर उवाच सौभाग्यादेरुमापूजां वक्ष्येऽहं भुक्तिमुक्तिदां । मन्त्रध्यानं मण्डलञ्च मुद्रां होमादिसाधनम् ।। ३२६.
Īśvara said: I shall explain the worship of Umā for prosperity and more, which grants enjoyment and liberation, along with the mantra, meditation, maṇḍala, mudrā, and the means such as homa.
चित्रभानुं शिवं कालं महाशक्तिसमन्वितम् । इडाद्यं परतोहृत्य सदेवः सविकारणम् ।। ३२६.
The radiant one, Śiva, Time, endowed with great power; beginning with Iḍā and ending with Parā, with gods and causes.
द्वितायं द्वारकाक्रान्तं गौरीप्रीतिपदान्वितं । चतुर्थ्यन्तं प्रकर्त्तव्यं गौर्य्या वै मूलवाचकं ।। ३२६.
The second, pervaded by Dvārakā, endowed with the seat of Gaurī's favor; it should end with the fourth, truly the root name of Gaurī.
ओं ह्रीँ सः शौँ गौर्य्यै नमः । तत्रार्णत्रितयेनैव जातियुक्तं षड़ङ्गुलम् । आसनं प्रणवेनैव पूर्त्तिं वै हृदयेन् तु ।। ३२६.
Oṃ hrīṃ saḥ śauṃ, obeisance to Gaurī; with three sacred syllables, joined with the class, six fingers; the seat is with praṇava, fulfillment is with the heart syllable.
उदकञ्च तथा कालं शिववीजं समुद्धरेत् । प्राणं दीर्घस्वराक्रान्तं षडङ्गं जातिसंयुतम् ।। ३२६.
Water and also time, the seed of Śiva should be drawn forth; the breath, pervaded by long vowels, with six limbs, joined with the class.
आसनं प्रणवेनात्र मूर्त्तिन्यासं हृदाचरेत् । यामलं कथितं वत्स एकवीरं वदाम्यऽथ ।। ३२६.
Here, the seat is with praṇava; the installation of the form is to be done with the heart syllable; the paired one has been described, O child, now I shall tell of the single hero.
व्यापकं सृष्टिसंयुक्तं वह्निमायाकृशानुभिः । शिवशक्तिमयं वीजं हृदयादिविवर्ज्जितं ।। ३२६.
All-pervading, joined with creation, with fire, illusion, and rays; the seed composed of Śiva and Śakti, devoid of heart and the rest.
गौरीं यजेद्धेमरूप्यां काष्ठनां शौलजादिकां । पञ्चपिण्डां तथाऽव्यक्तां कोणे मध्ये तु पञ्चमं ।। ३२६.
One should worship Gaurī made of gold, silver, wood, or Śaulaja and the like; five forms, also the unmanifest, the fifth in the center of the corner.
ललिता सुभगा गौरी क्षोभणी चाग्नितः क्रमात् । वामा ज्येष्ठा क्रिया ज्ञाना वृत्ते पूर्व्वादितो यजेत् ।। ३२६.
Lalitā, auspicious Gaurī, Kṣobhaṇī, and Agnitā in order; Vāmā, Jyeṣṭhā, Kriyā, and Jñānā, one should worship in the circle beginning from the east.
सपीठे वामभागो तु शिवस्याव्यक्तरूपकम् । व्यक्ता द्विनेत्रा त्र्यक्षरा शुद्धा वा शङ्करान्विता ।। ३२६.
On the seat, the left side is the unmanifest form of Shiva; manifest, she is two-eyed, three-syllabled, pure, and endowed with Shankara.
पीठपद्मद्वयं तारा द्विभुजा वा चतुर्भजा । सिंहस्था वा वृकस्था वा अष्टाष्टादशसत्करा ।। ३२६.
Tara is with two lotus seats, two arms or four arms, seated on a lion or a wolf, with eight, eighteen, or sixty-four hands.
स्रगक्षसूत्रकलिका गलकोत्पलपिण्डिका । शरं धनुर्व्वा सव्येन पाणिनान्यतमं वहत् ।। ३२६.
She bears a garland, a rosary, a bud, a cluster of lotuses at her throat, or a bundle of lotuses, and in her left hand she holds either an arrow or a bow.
वामेन पुस्तताम्बूलदण्डाभयकमण्डलुम् । गणेशदर्पणेष्वासान्दद्यादेकैकशः क्रमात् ।। ३२६.
In her left hand she holds a book, a water-pot, a staff, a gesture of fearlessness, or a water-jug; in order, she may also hold the emblems of Ganesha, a mirror, or a bow.
व्यक्ताऽथवाकार्य्या षद्ममुद्रा स्मृतासने । तिङ्गमुद्रा शिवस्योक्ता मुदा चावाहनी द्वयोः ।। ३२६.
She is manifest or to be depicted; the six-petaled lotus is the seat, the Tiṅga mudra is said to be Shiva’s, and with joy, the invocation mudra is for both.
शक्तिमुद्रा तु योन्याख्या चतुरस्रन्तु मण्डलं । चतुरस्रं त्रिपत्राब्जं मध्यकोष्ठचतुष्टये ।। ३२६.
The Shakti mudra is called Yoni; the mandala is square, with a three-petaled lotus in the center and four central compartments.
त्र्यश्रोर्द्धे चार्द्धेचन्द्रस्तु द्विपदं द्विगुणं क्रमात् । द्विगुणं द्वारकण्ठन्तु द्विगुणादुपकण्ठतः ।। ३२६.
Above the triangle is a half-moon; the two sides are doubled in order, the doorway and its threshold are doubled, and so is the inner threshold.
द्वारत्रयं त्रयं दिक्षु अथ वा भद्रके यजेत् । स्थण्डिले वाथ संस्थाप्य पञ्चगव्यामृतादिना ।। ३२६.
There are three doorways in three directions, or one may worship at the auspicious place; or, having established it on the altar, with five products of the cow and nectar, one should proceed.
रक्तपुष्पाणि देयानि पूजयित्वा ह्युदङ्मुखः । शतं हुत्वामृताज्यञ्च चपूर्णादः सर्व्वसिद्धिभाक् ।। ३२६.१८ बलिन्दत्वा कुमारीश्च तिस्रो वा चाष्ट भोजयेत् । नैवह्यं शिवभक्तेषु दद्यान्न स्वयमाचरेत् ।। ३२६.
Red flowers should be offered, worshipping while facing north; after offering a hundred libations with nectar and ghee, one who completes the ritual attains all accomplishments.
कन्यार्थी लभते कन्यां अपुत्रः पुत्रमाप्नुयात् । दुर्भगा चैव सौभाग्यं राजा राज्यं जयं रणे ।। ३२६.
One desiring a maiden obtains a maiden; one without a son obtains a son; the unfortunate gain good fortune, and a king gains sovereignty and victory in battle.
