साभयं वरदं पञ्चवदनञ्च त्रिलोचनम् । पत्रेषु मूर्त्तयः पञ्च स्थाप्यास्तत्पुरुषादयः ॥ ३०४.
With fear and granting boons, five-faced and three-eyed, the forms of Tatpuruṣa and others are to be established in the leaves.
पूर्व्वे तत्पुरुषः श्वेतो अघोरोऽष्टभुजोऽसितः । चतुर्बाहुमुखः पीतः सद्योजातश्च पश्चिमे ॥ ३०४.
In the east, Tatpuruṣa is white; Aghora, eight-armed and dark; four-armed, yellow-faced Sadyojāta in the west.
वामदेवः स्त्रीविलासी चतुर्वक्त्रभुजोऽरुणः । सौम्ये पञ्चास्य ईशाने ईशानः सर्व्वदः सितः ॥ ३०४.
Vāmadeva, indulging in feminine play, four-faced and four-armed, is red; in the northeast, five-faced, Īśāna, the giver of all, is white.
इष्टाङ्गानि यथान्यायमनन्तं सूक्ष्म्मर्च्चयेत् । सिद्धेश्वरं त्वेकनेत्रं पूर्व्वादौ दिशि पूजयेत् ॥ ३०४.
One should worship the desired limbs according to proper order, the infinite and subtle; Siddheśvara, with one eye, is to be worshipped first in the eastern direction.
एकरुद्रं त्रिनेत्रञ्च श्रीकण्ठञ्च शिखण्डिनम् । ऐशान्यादिविदिक्ष्वेते विद्येशाः कमलासनाः ॥ ३०४.
Ekarudra, three-eyed, Śrīkaṇṭha, and Śikhaṇḍin; in the northeast and other directions, the lords of knowledge are seated on lotuses.
श्वेतः पीतः सितो रक्तो धूम्रो रक्तोऽरुणः सितः । शूलाशनिशरेष्वासवाहवश्चतुराननाः ॥ ३०४.
White, yellow, white, red, smoky, red, reddish, white; with tridents, thunderbolts, arrows, bows, and four-faced.
उमा चण्डीशनन्दीशौ महाकालो गणेश्वरः । वृषो भृङ्गरिटिस्कन्दानुत्तरादौ प्रपूजयेत् ॥ ३०४.
Umā, Caṇḍīśa, Nandīśa, Mahākāla, Gaṇeśvara; the bull, Bhrṅga, Riṭi, Skanda are to be worshipped first in the north.
कुलिशं शक्तिदण्डौ च खड्गपाशध्वजौ गदां । शूलं चक्रं यजेत् पद्मं पूर्व्वादौ देवमर्च्य च ॥ ३०४.
Thunderbolt, spear, staff, sword, noose, banner, mace, trident, discus; one should worship the lotus and the deity first in the east.
ततोऽधिवासितं शिष्यं पाययेद् गव्यपञ्चकम् । आचान्तं प्रोक्ष्य नेत्रान्तैर्नेत्रे नेत्रेण बन्धयेत् ॥ ३०४.
Then, having consecrated, the disciple is to be given the five products of the cow; after rinsing, sprinkle and bind the eyes, each with the gaze.
द्वारे प्रवेशयेच्छिष्यं मण्डपस्याथ दक्षिणे । सासनादिकुशासीनं तत्र संशोधयेद् गुरुः ॥ ३०४.
Let the disciple enter through the door, then to the south of the pavilion; seated on kusa grass with seat and so forth, there the guru purifies him.
आदितत्त्वानि संहृत्य परमार्थे लयः क्रमात् । पुनरुत्पादयेच्छिष्यं सृष्टिमार्गेण देशिकः ॥ ३०४.
Having withdrawn the primal elements, dissolution proceeds in the supreme reality; then the teacher recreates the disciple by the path of creation.
न्यासं शिष्ये ततः कृत्वा तं प्रदक्षिणमानयेत् । पश्चिमद्वारमानीय क्षेपयेत् कुसुमाञ्जलिम् ॥ ३०४.
Then, having performed nyāsa on the disciple, let him lead him around; bringing him to the western door, he should offer a handful of flowers.
यस्मिन् पतन्ति पुष्पाणि तन्नामाद्यं विनिर्द्दिशेत् । पार्श्वे यागभुवः खाते कुण्डे सन्नाभिमेखले ॥ ३०४.
Where the flowers fall, let him indicate the primary name; at the side of the sacrificial ground, in the pit, in the navel-shaped hollow.
शिवाग्निं जनयित्वेष्ट्वा पुनः शिष्येण चार्च्चयेत् । ध्यानेनात्मनि तं शिष्यं संहृत्य प्रलयः क्रमात् ॥ ३०४.
Having generated Śiva-fire and worshipped, let him again worship with the disciple; by meditation, gathering the disciple into himself, dissolution proceeds step by step.
पुनरुत्पाद्य तत्पाणौ दद्याद्दर्भांश्च मन्त्रितान् । पृथिव्यादीनि तत्त्वानि जुहुयाद् हृदयादिभिः ॥ ३०४.
Again, having recreated, he should place darbha grass, consecrated with mantras, in the disciple's hand; the elements beginning with earth are to be offered with heart and other mantras.
एकैकस्य शतं हुत्वा व्योममूलेन होमयेत् । हुत्वा पूर्णाहुतिं कुर्य्यादस्त्रेणाष्टाहुतीर्हुनेत् ॥ ३०४.
Having offered a hundred times for each, let him perform the oblation with the root of space; having offered, he should make the full offering and, with the weapon, offer eight oblations.
प्रायश्चित्तं विशुद्ध्यर्थं ततः शेषं समापयेत् । कुम्भं समन्त्रितं प्रार्च्यं शिशुं पीठेऽभिषेचयेत् ॥ ३०४.
For purification, let him complete the remainder with atonement; having worshipped the pot with mantras, he should anoint the child on the seat.
अग्निरुवाच जपन् वै पञ्चपञ्चाशद्विष्णुनामानि यो नरः । मन्त्रजप्यादिफलभाक् तीर्थेष्वर्चादि चाक्षयम् ।। ३०५.
Agni said: Whoever recites fifty-five names of Viṣṇu, attains the fruits of mantra recitation and worship, and in holy places, the results are imperishable.
पुष्करे पुण्डरीकाक्षं गयायाञ्च गदाधरम् । राघवञ्चित्रकूटे तु प्रभासे दैत्यसूदनम् ।। ३०५.
In Puṣkara, worship the lotus-eyed one; in Gayā, the wielder of the mace; Rāghava at Citrakūṭa, and at Prabhāsa, the slayer of the demons.
जयं जयन्त्यां तद्वच्च जयन्तं हस्तिनापुरे । वाराहं वर्द्धमाने च काश्मीरे चक्रपाणिनम् ।। ३०५.
Victory is to be worshipped at Jayantī, and Jayanta at Hastināpura; the Boar incarnation at Vardhamāna, and the wielder of the discus in Kashmir.
जनार्द्दनञ्च कुब्जाम्रे मथुरायाञ्च केशवम् । कुब्जाम्रके हृषीकेशं गङ्गाद्वारे जटाधरम् ।। ३०५.
Janārdana at Kubjāmra, Keśava at Mathurā; Hṛṣīkeśa at Kubjāmra, and the matted-haired one at Gaṅgādvāra.
शालग्रामे महायोगं हरिं गोवर्द्धनाचले । पिण्डारके चतुर्ब्बाहुं शङ्खोद्धारे च शङ्खिनम् ।। ३०५.
At Śālagrāma, the great yogi Hari; on Govardhana mountain; the four-armed one at Piṇḍāraka, and the conch-holder at Śaṅkhoddhāra.
वामनञ्च कुरुक्षेत्रे यमुनायां त्रिविक्रमम् । विश्वेश्वरं तथा शोणे कपिलं पूर्व्वसागरे ।। ३०५.
Vāmana at Kurukṣetra, Trivikrama on the Yamunā; Viśveśvara on the Śoṇa, and Kapila at the eastern ocean.
विष्णुं महोदधौ विद्याद्गङ्गासागरसङ्गमे । वनमालञ्च किष्किन्ध्यां देवं रैवतकं विदुः ।। ३०५.
Know Viṣṇu in the great ocean, at the confluence of the Gaṅgā and the sea; Vanamāla at Kiṣkindhā, and the god at Raivataka.
काशीतटे महायोगं विरजायां रिपुञ्जयम् । विशाखयूपे ह्यजितन्नेपाले लोकभावनम् ।। ३०५.
The great yogi on the banks of Kāśī, the conqueror of foes at Virajā; at Viśākhayūpa, the unconquered one; in Nepal, the creator of the worlds.
द्वारकायां विद्धि कृष्णं मन्दरे मधुसूदनम् । लोकाकुले रिपुहरं शालग्रामे हरिं स्मरेत् ।। ३०५.
Know Kṛṣṇa at Dvārakā, Madhusūdana at Mandara; in the tumult of the world, the remover of enemies; at Śālagrāma, remember Hari.
पुरुषं पूरुषवटे विमले च जगत्प्रभुं । अनन्तं सैन्धवारण्ये दण्डके शार्ङ्गधारिणम् ।। ३०५.
The Supreme Person at Pūruṣavaṭa, the Lord of the universe at Vimala; Ananta in the Sindhu forest, and the wielder of the Śārṅga bow in Daṇḍaka.
उत्पलावर्त्तके शौरिं नर्म्मदायां श्रियः पतिं । दामोदरं रैवतके नन्दायां जलशायिनं ।। ३०५.
Śauri at Utpalāvartaka, the Lord of Śrī at the Narmadā; Dāmodara at Raivataka, and the one who lies in the waters at the Nandā.
गोपीश्वरञ्च सिन्ध्वव्धौ माहेन्द्रे चाच्युतं विदुः । सह्याद्रौ देवदेवेशं वैकुण्ठं मागधे वने ।। ३०५.
The lord of the gopīs at the mouth of the Sindhu, Acyuta at Māhendra; the Lord of gods on the Sahya mountain, and Vaikuṇṭha in the Magadha forest.
सर्व्वपापहरं विन्ध्ये औड्रे तु पुरुषोत्तमम् । आत्मानं हृदये विद्धि जपतां भुक्तिमुक्तिदम् ।। ३०५.
The remover of all sins at Vindhya, the Supreme Person in Auḍra; know the Self in the heart, the giver of enjoyment and liberation to those who recite.
