विषशान्त्यै दहेद्दंशं ज्वालकोकनदादिना । शिरीषवीजपुष्पार्कक्षीरवीजकटुत्रयं ।। २९७.
To neutralize poison, burn the bite with a flame, or with kokanada and similar means; use the three—śirīṣa seed, flower, arka, and milk.
विषं विनाशयेत् पानलेपनेनाञ्जनादिना । शिरिषपुष्पस्य रसभावितं मरिचं सितं ।। २९७.
Poison is destroyed by drinking, applying, or anointing with śirīṣa flower juice, black pepper, and sugar, all infused together.
पाननस्याञ्चनाद्यैश्च विषं हन्यान्न संशयः । कोषातकीवचाहिङ्गुशिरीषार्कपयोयुतं ।। २९७.
By drinking, snuffing, or anointing with these, poison is surely destroyed; koṣātakī, vacā, hiṅgu, śirīṣa, arka, and milk combined.
कुटुत्रयं समेषाम्बो हरेन्नस्यादिना विषं । रामठेक्ष्वाकुशर्वाङ्गचूर्णं नस्याद्विषापहं ।। २९७.
The three pungents with water from all these remove poison by nasal application; the powder of rāmaṭha, ikṣvāku, and śarva, used as nasal medicine, dispels poison.
इन्द्रबलाग्निकन्द्रोणं तुलसी देविका सहा । तद्रसाक्तं त्रिकटुकं चूर्णम्भक्ष्यविषापहं ।। २९७.
Indrabalā, agnikand, rohiṇī, tulasī, devikā together, mixed with their juice and trikaṭuka powder, taken as food, remove poison.
पञ्चाङ्गं कृष्णपञ्चम्यां शिरीषस्य विषापहं ।। २९७.
The five parts of śirīṣa, gathered on the black fifth lunar day, remove poison.
अग्निरुवाच गोनसादिचिकित्साञ्च वशिष्ठ श्रृणु वच्मि ते । ह्रीँ ह्रीँ अमलपक्षि स्वाहा २९८.
Agni said: Hear from me, O Vasiṣṭha, the treatment for cow's disease. Hrī hrī, O spotless bird, svāhā.
लशुनं रामठफ्लं कुष्ठाग्निव्योषकं विषे । स्नुहीक्षीरं गव्यघृतं पक्षं पीत्वाऽहिजे विषे ।। २९८.
Garlic, rāmaṭha fruit, kuṣṭha, agni, and vyoṣa for poison; snuhī latex and cow's ghee—let the bird drink this in case of snake poison.
अथ राजिलदष्टे च पेया कृष्णा ससैन्धवा । आज्यक्षौद्रशकृत्तोयं पुरीतत्या विषापहं ।। २९८.
For the bite of a rājila, give a gruel of black gram with rock salt; clarified butter, honey, dung water, and purītatyā together remove poison.
सकृष्णाखण्डदुग्धाज्यं पातव्यन्तेन माक्षिकं । व्योषं पिच्छं विडालास्थि नकुलाङ्गरुहैः समैः ।। २९८.
With black gram, unchurned milk, and ghee, give honey at the end; vyoṣa, bird's feather, cat's bone, and nakula's body parts in equal measure.
चूर्णितैर्म्मेषदुग्धाक्तैर्धूपः सर्वविषापहः । रोमनिर्गुण्डिकाकोलवर्णैर्वा लशुनं समं ।। २९८.
Fumigation with powders mixed with sheep's milk removes all poison; or garlic with romanirguṇḍikā and kola leaves.
मुनिपत्रैः कृतस्वेदं दष्टं काञ्जिकपाचितैः । मूषिकाः षोडश प्रोक्ता रसङ्कार्पासकजम्पिवेत् ।। २९८.
Sweating with muni leaves, and the bite cooked with sour gruel; sixteen types of mice are mentioned—let them drink rasaṅkā, arpāsaka, and jam.
सतैलं मूषिकार्त्तिघ्नं फलिनीकुसुमन्तथा । सनागरगुडम्भक्ष्यं तद्विषारोचकापहं ।। २९८.
With oil, it cures mouse-bite affliction; phalinī and kusuma as well, with nāgara and jaggery taken as food, remove poison and loss of appetite.
चिकित्सा विंशतिर्भूता लूताविषहरो गणः । पद्मकं पाटली कुष्ठं नतमूशीरचन्दनं ।। २९८.
There are twenty treatments; the group that destroys lūta poison: padmaka, pāṭalī, kuṣṭha, nata, uśīra, and candana.
निर्गुण्डी शारिवा शेलु लूतार्त्तं सेचयेज्जलैः । गुञ्जानिर्गुण्डिकङ्कोलपर्णं शुण्ठी निशाद्वयं ।। २९८.
Nirguṇḍī, śārivā, śelu—these should be sprinkled with water for lūta affliction; guñjā, nirguṇḍikā, kola leaf, dry ginger, and two types of niśā.
करञ्जास्थि च तत्पङ्कैः वृश्चिकार्त्तिहरं श्रृणु । मञ्जिष्ठा व्योषपुष्पं शिरीषकौमुदं ।। २९८.
Karañja bone, with its paste, cures scorpion affliction—hear this: mañjiṣṭhā, vyoṣa, śirīṣa flower, and kumuda.
संयोज्याश्चतुरो योगा लेपादौ वृश्चिकापहाः ।। ओं नमो भगवते रुद्राय चिवि छिन्द किरि भिन्द खङ्गेन छेदय शुलेन भेदय चक्रेण दारय ओं ह्रूँ फट् । मन्त्रेण मन्त्रितो देयो गर्द्धभादीन्निकृन्तति ।। २९८.
By combining four preparations at the beginning of the application, scorpion poison is destroyed. Om, obeisance to the blessed Rudra: cut, sever, split, cleave, strike with the sword, pierce with the spear, rend with the discus—Om hrūm phaṭ. Having been empowered with this mantra, it should be given; it destroys the poison of donkey and others.
त्रिफलोशीरमुस्ताम्बुमांसीपद्मकचन्दनं । अजाक्षीरेण पानादेर्गर्द्धभादेर्विषं हरेत् ।। २९८.
Triphala, uśīra, mustā, ambu, māṃsī, padma, and sandalwood—when mixed with goat’s milk and given as a drink, remove the poison of donkey and similar creatures.
हरेत् शिरीषपञ्चाङ्गं व्योषं शतपदीविषं । सकन्धरं शिरीषास्थि हरेदुन्दूरजं विषं ।। २९८.
The five parts of śirīṣa, along with vyoṣa, remove the poison of centipedes. Śirīṣa stem and śirīṣa wood together remove the poison of the mouse.
व्योषं ससर्पिः पिण्डीतमूलमस्य विषं हरेत् । क्षारव्योषवचाहिङ्गुविडङ्गं सैन्धवन्नतं ।। २९८.
Vyoṣa with ghee, made into a bolus, removes this poison. Alkaline substances, vyoṣa, vacā, hiṅgu, viḍaṅga, and rock salt are also effective.
अम्बष्ठातिबलाकुष्ठं सर्वकीटविषं हरेत् । यष्टिव्योषगुडक्षीरयोगाः शुनो विषापहः ।। २९८.
Ambaṣṭha, atibalā, and kuṣṭha remove all insect poisons. A combination of yaṣṭi, vyoṣa, jaggery, and milk removes dog poison.
ओं सुभद्रायै नमः ओं सुप्रभायै नमः । यान्यौषधानि गृह्यन्ते विदानेन विना जनैः ।। २९८.
Om, obeisance to Subhadrā; om, obeisance to Suprabhā. The herbs that are taken by people without proper knowledge—
तेषां वीजन्त्वया ग्राह्यमिति ब्रह्माऽव्रवीच्च नाम् । ताम्प्रणम्योषधीम्पश्चात् यवान् प्रक्षिप्य मुष्टिना ।। २९८.
For those, their seeds must be taken by you, so said Brahmā. After honoring those herbs, one should then add barley with the fist.
दश जप्त्वा मन्त्रमिदं नमस्कुर्य्यात्तदौषधं । त्वामुद्धराम्यूद्र्ध्वनेत्रामनेनैव च भक्षयेत् ।। २९८.
After reciting this mantra ten times, one should offer obeisance to that herb. With this very mantra, one should take it, raising it to the forehead, and then consume it.
नमः पुरुषसिंहाय नमो गोपालकाय च । आत्मनैवाभिजानाति रणे कृष्णपराजयं ।। २९८.
Obeisance to the lion among men, obeisance also to the cowherd. By oneself, one recognizes the defeat of Kṛṣṇa in battle.
एतेन सत्यवाक्येन अगदो मेऽस्तु सिध्यतु ।। नमो वैदूर्य्यमाते तन्न रक्ष मां सर्वविषेभ्यो गौरि गान्धारि चाण्डालि मातङ्गिनि स्वाहा हरिमाये । औषधादौ प्रयोक्तव्यो मन्त्रोऽयं स्थावरे विषे ।। २९८.
By this truthful statement, may my remedy be successful. O mother of vaidūrya, protect me from all poisons—Gaurī, Gāndhārī, Cāṇḍālī, Mātaṅginī, svāhā, O Harimāyā. This mantra should be used at the beginning of administering medicine for poison from immobile sources.
भुक्तमात्रे स्थिते ज्वाले पद्मं शीताम्बुसेवितं । पाययेत्सघृतं क्षौद्रं विषञ्चेत्तदनन्तरं ।। २९८.
When the poison has been ingested and remains within, one should give a lotus cooled with cold water, along with ghee and honey, if poison is suspected immediately after.
अग्निरुवाच बालतन्त्रं प्रवक्ष्यामि बालादिग्रहमर्द्दनं । अथ जातदिने वत्सं ग्रही गृह्णाति पापिनी ।। २९९.
Agni said: I will now explain the treatment for children, the destruction of childhood afflictions. On the day of birth, the evil spirit called Grahī seizes the calf.
गात्रोद्वेगो निराहारो नानाग्रीवाविवर्त्तनं । तच्चेष्टितमिदं तत्स्यान्मातृणाञ्च बलं हरेत् ।। २९९.
Restlessness of the body, refusal of food, twisting of the neck in various ways—these are its symptoms, and it also takes away the strength of mothers.
मत्स्यमांससुराभक्ष्यगन्धस्रग्धूपदीपकैः । लिम्पेच्च धातकीलोध्रमञ्जिष्ठातालचन्दनैः ।। २९९.
With the scent of fish, meat, wine, garlands, incense, and lamps, one should anoint with dhātakī, lodhra, mañjiṣṭhā, tāla, and sandalwood.
