Om, blaze forth, O great-minded one, for the heart, for Garuḍa with the vast head, for the Garuḍa crest, O Garuḍa, destroyer and breaker of poison, terrify, crush, crush, for the armor, for the command that cannot be resisted, vaṃ hūṃ phaṭ for the weapon, bearer of a fierce form, terrifying to all, frighten all, burn, burn, reduce to ashes, svāhā for the eyes. Having made the lotus of letters, with the seven pairs of directions, petals, filaments, and the fiery pericarp, and placing it in the heart, the practitioner should remember it in the left palm, and place the letters, divided according to the sky, at the tips of the fingers.

On the middle joints of the fingers, beginning with the thumb, in their respective places, encircled by the golden serpent, one should place them in order.
One should place the four letters of the sky, shining like a perfect circle, in the formless, in the solar essence, with Śiva as the deity of space.
On the middle joint of the little finger, one should place its first letter; and the initial letters of the serpents, as they are situated in their own circles.
One should place the letters of the elements on the joints from the thumb onwards; the wise should place the subtle qualities, beginning with the tanmātras, on the fingers.
By the mere touch of Tārkṣa on the hand, both kinds of poison are destroyed; the letters, mastered by the poets, are placed in the circles and so forth of the sky.

From the neck to the end of the hair, saffron-red and then white, pervading the universe, Tārkṣa, called Chandra, adorned with serpents.
The wise should meditate on themselves as blue, fierce, destructive, with great wings; thus, from the words of Tārkṣa, the mantra for poison is established for the practitioner.
Within the fist of Tārkṣa's hand, the thumb removes poison; raising the Tārkṣa hand, by moving the five fingers, poison is dispelled.

Or, by hearing the sound of conch, kettle-drum, and the like, well recited and joined, it burns away, remaining due to the reversal of the elements.
By the reversal of earth and air, this mantra transfers poison; whether within, in one's own dwelling, with seed, fire, Indra, and water as its essence.

These two bird-king mantras, when empowered, destroy poison; we know the bird-king, we contemplate the bird-deity, may Garuda inspire us; placed in fire, at the sides, in front, with tooth-glory and staff.

Place them on the index and other fingers, and on all thumbs; meditating thus, one quickly restrains with the spear-mudrā.
With the little finger bound to the eldest, the other three extended swiftly; for the destruction of poison, place the left hand on the right.

Agni said: I will explain the Rudra rite, the fivefold, supreme, bestowing all; the heart is the Shiva resolve, and the Sūkta is the masculine.
From the crest arises the Sūkta, and quickly the armor as well; the Śatarudrīya, the weapon, and the five limbs of Rudra.
