वासानिम्बपटोलानि त्रिफला वातपित्तनुत् । लिह्यात् क्षौद्रेण विड़ङ्गं चूर्णं कृमिविनाशनम् ।। २८५.
Vāsā, nimba, paṭola, and triphalā remove vāta and pitta; one should lick viranga powder with honey—it destroys worms.
विड़ङ्गसैन्धवक्षारमृत्रेनापि हरीतकी । शल्लकीवदरीजम्बुपियालाम्रार्जुनत्वचः ।। २८५.
Harītakī with viranga, rock salt, and alkali, or with urine; also, śallakī, vadaṛī, jambū, piyāla, mango, and arjuna bark—
पीताः क्षीरेण मध्वक्ताः पृथक्शोणितवारणाः । विल्वाम्रधातकीपाठाशुण्ठीमोचरसाः समाः ।। २८५.
Taken with milk and honey, these separately stop bleeding; bilva, mango, dhātakī, pāṭhā, dried ginger, and moca bark, in equal measure.
पीता रुन्धन्त्यतीसारं गुड़तक्रेण दुर्जयम् । चाङ्गेरीकोलदध्यम्बुनागरक्षारसंयुतम् ।। २८५.
Taken, they arrest severe diarrhea, even when hard to cure, when combined with buttermilk, cāṅgerī, kola, curd water, dried ginger, and alkali.
घृततयुक्क्काथितं पेयं गुदभ्रंसे रुजापहम् । विड़ङ्गातिविषामुस्तं दारुपाठाकलिङ्गकम् ।। २८५.
A decoction prepared with ghee should be drunk for prolapse of the rectum, as it relieves pain; with viranga, ativiṣā, musta, dāru, pāṭhā, and kaliṅga.
मरीचेन समायुक्तं शोथातीसारनाशनम् । शर्करासिन्धुशुण्ठीभिः कृष्णामधुगुड़ेन वा ।। २८५.
Combined with black pepper, it destroys swelling and diarrhea; or with sugar, rock salt, dried ginger, and black honey or jaggery.
द्वे द्वे खादेद्धरीतक्यौ जीवेद्वर्षशतं सुखी । त्रिफला पिप्पलीयुक्ता समध्वाज्या तथैव सा ।। २८५.
Eating two harītakī fruits daily, one lives happily for a hundred years; triphalā with long pepper, taken with equal parts honey and ghee, likewise.
चूर्णमामलकं तेन सुरसेन तु भावितम् । मध्वाज्यशर्करायुक्तं लिढ्वा स्त्रीशः पयः पिवेत् ।। २८५.
Powdered āmalaka, prepared with surasena, and mixed with honey, ghee, and sugar, should be licked, and women should drink milk after it.
मासपिप्पलिशालीनां यवगोधूमयोस्तथा । चूर्णभागैः समांशैश्च पचेत् पिप्पलिकां शुभां ।। २८५.
One should cook a fine preparation of long pepper, rice, barley, and wheat, using equal parts of their powders.
तां भक्षयित्वा च पिवेत् शर्करामधुरं पयः । नवश्चटकवज्जम्भेद् दशवारान् स्त्रियं ध्रुवम् ।। २८५.
After consuming that, one should drink milk sweetened with sugar; a woman will certainly conceive within ten days, like a bird laying eggs.
समङ्गाधातकीपुष्पलोध्रनीलोत्पलानि च । एतत् क्षीरेण दातव्यं स्त्रीणां प्रदरनाशनं ।। २८५.
Samaṅgā, dhātakī flowers, lodhra, nīlotpala—these should be given with milk to women; it destroys uterine disorders.
वीजङ्कौरण्टकञ्चापि मधुकं श्वेतचन्दनं । पद्मोत्पलस्य मूलानि मधुकं शर्करातिलान् ।। २८५.
Seeds of vijā, kauraṇṭaka, madhuka, white sandalwood, roots of lotus and blue lotus, madhuka, sugar, and sesame—
द्रवमाणेषु गर्भेषु गर्भस्थापनमुत्तमं । देवदारु नभः कुष्ठं नलदं विश्वभेषजं ।। २८५.
For moving fetuses, this is an excellent stabilizer of pregnancy: devadāru, nabhaḥ, kuṣṭha, nalada, and viśvabheṣaja.
लेपः काञ्जिकसम्पिष्टस्तैलयुक्तः शिरोर्त्तिनुत् । वस्त्रपूतं क्षिपेत् कोष्णं सिन्धूत्थं कर्णशूलनुत् ।। २८५.
A paste made with sour gruel and oil, applied as a poultice, relieves head pain; strained through cloth and warmed, it alleviates ear pain caused by wind.
लशुनार्द्रकशिग्रूणां कदल्या वा रसः पृथक् । बलाशतावरीरास्नामृताः मैरीयकैः पिवेत् ।। २८५.
Juice of garlic, fresh ginger, drumstick, or banana, separately, should be drunk with powders of balā, śatāvarī, rāsnā, amṛtā, and mairīyaka.
त्रिफलासहितं सर्पिस्तिमिरघ्नमनुत्तमं । त्रिफलाव्योषसिन्धूत्थैर्घृतं सिद्धं पिवेन्नरः ।। २८५.
Ghee prepared with triphalā is the best remedy for darkness of vision; one should drink ghee cooked with triphalā, vyosha, and rock salt.
चाक्षुष्यम्भेदनं हृद्यं दीपनं कफरोगनुत् । नीलोत्पलस्य किञ्जल्कं गोशकृद्रससंयुतं ।। २८५.
The pollen of blue lotus, mixed with cow dung juice, is beneficial for the eyes, clears vision, is pleasing, stimulates digestion, and alleviates phlegmatic disorders.
गुटिकाञ्जनमेतत् स्यात् दिनरात्र्यन्धयोर्हितं । यष्टिमधुवचाकृष्णावीजानं गुटजस्य च ।। २८५.
This becomes a medicinal collyrium, beneficial for those blind by day or night; with yaṣṭimadhu, vacā, kṛṣṇā seeds, and guṭaja.
कल्केनालोड्य निम्बस्य कषायो वमनायसः । स्निग्धस्विन्नयवन्तोयं प्रदातव्यं विरेचनम् ।। २८५.
A decoction of neem, stirred as a paste, acts as an emetic; for purgation, give warm water to those who are oily and sweating.
अन्य्था योजितं कुर्य्यात् मन्दाग्निं गौरवारुचिं। पथ्यासैन्धवकृष्णानां चूर्णमुष्णाम्बुना पिवेत् ।। २८५.
Otherwise, one should administer it differently for weak digestion, heaviness, and loss of appetite; powder of pathyā, rock salt, and black salt should be drunk with warm water.
विरेकः सर्व्वरोगघनः श्रेष्ठो नाराचसंज्ञकः । सिद्धयोगा मुनिभ्यो ये आत्रेयेण प्रदर्शिताः ।। २८५.
Purgation called nārāca is the best, destroying all diseases; these perfected formulas were shown to the sages by Ātreya.
सर्वरोगहराः सर्वयोगाग्र्याः सुश्रुतेन हि ।। २८५.
All these formulas, praised by Suśruta, are foremost and remove all diseases.
धन्वन्तरिरुवाच कल्पान्मृत्युञ्चयान्वक्ष्ये ह्यायुर्द्दान्रोगमर्द्दनान् । त्रिशती रोगहा सेव्या मध्वाज्यत्रिफलामृता ।। २८६.
Dhanvantari said: I will now explain the methods for conquering death, granting long life, and destroying disease; the triple hundred, to be used, removes disease, with honey, ghee, triphalā, and amṛtā.
पलं पलार्द्धं कर्षं वा त्रिफलां सकलां तथा । विल्वतैलस्य नस्यञ्च मासं पञ्चशती कवि ।। २८६.
One pala, half a pala, or a karṣa of whole triphalā, and nasal drops of bilva oil, should be used for five months, O sage.
रीगापमृत्युबलिजत् तिलं भल्लातकं तथा । पञ्चाङ्गं वाकुचीचूर्णं षण्मासं शकदिरोदकैः ।। २८६.
For conquering premature death, one should use sesame and bhallātaka, and powder of five parts of vākucī, for six months, with the juice of sugarcane.
क्काथैः कुष्ठञ्जयेत् सेव्यं चूर्णं लीलकुरुण्टजम् । क्षीरेण मधुना वापि शतायुः खण्डदुग्धभुक् ।। २८६.
With decoctions, one should conquer leprosy; the powder of līlā and kuruṇṭaja should be used, with milk or honey, or by one who eats broken milk, for a hundred years.
मध्वाज्यशुण्ठीं संसेव्य पलं प्रातः स मृत्युजित् । बलीपलितजिज्जीवेन्माण्डूकी चूर्णदुग्धपाः ।। २८६.
Having taken honey, ghee, and dry ginger, one pala in the morning—such a person conquers death; strong, free from gray hair, and long-lived is he who drinks powder of Māṇḍūkī with milk.
उच्चटामधुना कर्ष पयःपा मृत्युजिन्नरः । मध्वाज्यैः पयसा वापि निर्गुण्डी रोगमृत्युजित् ।। २८६.
He who drinks one karṣa of uccaṭā with honey and milk conquers death; likewise, with honey, ghee, or milk, nirguṇḍī overcomes disease and death.
पलाशतैलं कर्षैकं षण्मासं मधुना पिवेत् । दुग्धभोजी पञ्चशती सहस्रायुर्भ्वेन्नरः ।। २८६.
Drinking one karṣa of palāśa oil with honey for six months, while taking milk as food, a man lives for five hundred years, attaining a thousand years of life.
ज्योतिष्मतीपत्ररसं पयसा त्रिफलां पिवेत् । मधुनाज्यन्ततस्तद्वत् शतावर्य्या रजः पलं ।। २८६.
One should drink the juice of jyotiṣmatī leaves with milk, and triphalā; then, in the same way with honey and ghee, and a pala of śatāvarī powder.
