ततो दास्याम्यहं भद्र सर्वं यस्य यथेप्सितम्। दुहितृत्वे च मां वीर सङ्कल्पयितुमर्हसि
Then I shall give, O fortunate one, whatever each desires; and, O hero, you should consider me as your daughter.
तथेत्युक्त्वा पृथुः सर्वं विधानमकरोद्वशी। ततो भूतनिकायास्तां वसुधां दुदुहुस्तदा
Having said 'so be it,' Prithu, the sovereign, made all the arrangements; then the hosts of beings milked the earth.
तां वनस्पतयः पूर्वं समुत्तस्थुर्दुधुक्षवः। साऽतिष्ठद्वत्सला वत्सं दोग्धृपात्राणि चेच्छती

That king made sixty thousand golden cows and sixty hundred golden elephants, and gave them to the Brahmins.
इमां च पृथिवीं सर्वां मणिरत्नविभूषिताम्। सौवर्णीमकरोद्राजा ब्राह्मणेभ्यश्च तां ददौ
He made the entire earth, adorned with jewels and gems, into a golden form, and gave it to the Brahmins.
स चेन्ममार सृञ्जय चतुर्भद्रतरस्त्वया। पुत्रात्पुण्यतरस्तुभ्यं मा पुत्रमनुतप्यथाः। अयज्वानमदक्षिण्यमभि श्वैत्येत्युदाहरत्
If Sṛñjaya dies, O you who are more blessed than fourfold fortunate, your son is more virtuous than you; do not grieve for your son. They call one who does not sacrifice or give gifts 'white' (impure).
सहस्रं मुसलेनाहन्सहस्रमसिनाऽवधीत्। उद्बन्धनात्सहस्रं च सहस्रमुदके कृतम्
He killed a thousand with a mace, a thousand with a sword, a thousand by binding, and a thousand by drowning.

सरथाश्वगजा वीरा निहतास्तत्र शेरते। पितुर्वधामर्षितेन जामदग्न्येन धीमता
Heroes with chariots, horses, and elephants lay slain there, by the wise Jamadagni's son, angered by his father's death.
निजघ्ने दशसाहस्रान्रामः परशुना तदा। न ह्यमृष्यत ता वाचो यास्तैर्भृशमुदीरिताः
Rama then struck down ten thousand with his axe; he could not endure the harsh words spoken by them.
भृगौ रामाभिधावेति यदाक्रन्दन्द्विजोत्तमाः। ततः काश्मीरदरदान्कुन्तिक्षुद्रकमालवान्

शिबीनन्यांश्च राजन्यान्देशान्देशान्सहस्रशः। निजघान शितैर्बाणैर्जामदग्न्यः प्रतापवान्
The mighty son of Jamadagni struck down thousands of other royal warriors and kings of the Śibis in many lands with his sharp arrows.
कोटीशतसहस्राणि क्षत्रियाणां सहस्रशः। इन्द्रगोपकवर्णस्य बन्धुजीवनिभस्य च
Hundreds of millions of Kṣatriyas, countless in number, whose blood was the color of indragopa insects and bandhujīva flowers,
रुधिरस्य परीवाहैः पूरयित्वा सरांसि च। सर्वानष्टादश द्वीपान्वशमानीय भार्गवः
Bhārgava filled the lakes with streams of their blood, and, having brought all the eighteen islands under his control,
ईजे क्रतुशतैः पुण्यैः समाप्तवरदक्षिणैः। वेदीमष्टनलोत्सेधां सौवर्णां विधिनिर्मिताम्
He performed hundreds of sacred sacrifices, complete with the best gifts, upon a golden altar constructed according to the prescribed rites, eight measures high.
