Having honored Dāśārha, revered in all the worlds, they offered their excellent homes to the great-souled one.
The lord, saying 'It is done,' honored them as was fitting, visited their homes, and then returned together with them.
Having served well-prepared food to the Brahmins there, Keśava, after eating together with them all, spent the night happily.
Then, having learned from the messengers that Madhusūdana was coming, Dhṛtarāṣṭra, after honoring mighty-armed Bhīṣma, spoke to him.

He also addressed Droṇa, Sañjaya, wise Vidura, and Duryodhana with his ministers, his body thrilled with joy, and spoke these words.

Some recount it with honor, others gather and speak likewise; differing opinions are heard in the squares and in the assemblies.
The valiant Dāśārha is coming for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas; in every way, Madhusūdana is to be respected and honored by us.

For in him is the journey of the world, he is the lord of beings; in Mādhava are steadfastness, strength, wisdom, and vigor.
That best of men should be honored, for he is the eternal dharma; being honored, he brings happiness, but if not honored, brings unhappiness.
If the Dāśārha, subduer of foes, is pleased by our attentions, we shall obtain all our aims from Kṛṣṇa among all kings.
Therefore, for the sake of his honor, make arrangements today, O scorcher of foes; let halls be prepared along the way, furnished with every comfort.
So that, mighty-armed one, his affection for you may arise, do thus, O Gāndhārī's son; or what do you think, Bhīṣma?
Then Bhīṣma and all the others, honoring his words, said to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, 'So be it,' thus showing him respect.

Having made all these arrangements, fit for the gods and beyond human, King Duryodhana then reported it to Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
Without even glancing at those assembly halls and the various jewels, Keshava, the descendant of Dasharha, entered the house of the Kurus.
O Kshatta, Janardana has come here from Upaplavya; he is staying at Vrikasthala and will arrive here in the morning.
Janardana, the great-minded, of immense strength and great soul, lord of the Ahukas and foremost among all the Satvatas, leads them.
Madhava is the lord and protector of the prosperous kingdom of the Vrishnis; the Blessed Lord, the Grandsire, of even the three worlds.
The Vrishnis and Andhakas, of noble minds, revere his wisdom, just as the Adityas, Vasus, and Rudras honor the intellect of Brihaspati.
To that great-souled Dasharha I will offer worship; O knower of righteousness, listen as I tell you of it directly.

To him, O Kaurava, I will give eight elephants, each with eight attendants, ever in rut, fierce, with fine tusks, and skilled in battle.
I will give him a hundred maidservants, young, beautiful, and adorned with golden ornaments, and an equal number of male servants.
I will also give him eight thousand woolen blankets, soft to the touch, brought from the mountains.
