Those two bestowers of boons, seeing me prostrate on the ground, joyfully gave me the eleventh name, 'Krishna,' pleased by my valor and deeds.
Surrounded by all the gods, those two again addressed me: 'Choose a boon, O son, whatever you desire, O Pandava.'
Then I obtained divine and powerful weapons: the Brahma, Pashupata, Sthuna-karna, Indra, Varuna, Agni, Vayu, and Vishnu weapons.
Then, with Indra's chariot and Matali as charioteer, I conquered the invincible Nivatakavachas in battle, those demons granted boons and protected by the gods.
Alone, I defeated three crore demons in battle, who never turned back, and once again pleased the gods.
Then the blessed Indra himself gave me the crown, and the gods gave me the conch to repel enemy armies.
I crossed to the far shore of the ocean and, after slaying sixty thousand inhabitants of Hiranyapura, gained victory in battle.
Standing unshaken on my chariot, even among hundreds of thousands, I am unassailable in the midst of enemies, and my senses do not falter.
When Suyodhana was being carried off by the king of the Gandharvas, conquered in battle along with his brothers by the Gandharvas, I slew fourteen thousand and freed him, dear one.
Whoever daily recites these my names, living beings do not see him, nor do enemies slay him.
Today, mighty-armed one, behold my strength, unbearable in battle; do not fear, let your anxiety vanish, even as the assembled leaders of the Kurus stand before us.
While Suyodhana, Karna, Kripa, Bhishma the grandsire, Drona's son, and Drona himself look on, I will defeat all the Kurus and bring back your cattle.
Then the son of Virata, with joined palms, greeted Partha and said: 'I am Bhuminjaya by name, and I bow to you, Dhananjaya.'
'By good fortune I see you, Partha; welcome to you, Dhananjaya, red-eyed, mighty-armed, equal to the best of serpent-kings.'
'Whatever I said to you before, O best of men, out of ignorance and carelessness, without knowing your full worth—please forgive me for that.'
'Because of the wondrous and difficult deeds you performed before, my fear has vanished, and I have the highest affection for you.'
'I will become your servant—look upon me with compassion.'
'The vow you made before, to act as charioteer, is now fulfilled for me, Arjuna, and I rejoice.'
'It was previously vowed by us, O fierce in battle, that I would be the charioteer of the son of the lord of the gods in this great conflict.'
'My vow is fulfilled because of your charioteership; my mind is at peace, and great fortune has come to me.'
'Mount the great chariot, hero, with me as your charioteer, defeat Duryodhana in battle, and bring back my cattle.'
'I am pleased with you today, prince; you need not fear. I will drive away all your enemies in battle, O skilled in war.'
'Be at ease in this great battle; see me fighting with the enemies in this clash, raising a terrible roar.'
'Quickly fasten for me on the chariot the Gandiva, the Devadatta, the arrows adorned with gold, and all the other accoutrements; and bring me a single sword decorated with pure gold.'
I will indeed fight with the Kurus, I will rescue your cattle, I will satisfy the king, and I will enter the city again.
The city is encircled by deep resolve, with arms as ramparts and gateways, crowded with threefold barriers and filled with many banners.
With the roar of bowstrings, the thunder of wheels and drums, adorned with canopies of arrows, resounding with great neighing, your city, guarded by me, will become the seat of chariots.
The chariot, presided over by me, the wielder of the Gandiva bow, will be unconquerable by enemy armies; let your fear in Virata be dispelled.
Why speak at length in vain? Hear my supreme word: I do not fear, O son of Kunti, even the mighty Indra himself.
I do not fear Yama, Vayu, Kubera, nor even a hundred Droṇas and Bhīṣmas; I know you are steadfast in battle, whether with Keśava or even with Indra himself.
