By my favor, divine enjoyments shall always attend you, O Hanuman,' so said the lotus-eyed one.
Then, as those sinless ones looked on, all the gods, led by Indra, vanished from sight.
Seeing Rāma reunited with Jānakī, the charioteer of Indra, surrounded by dear friends, spoke these words.
O truly valiant one, by you this suffering of the gods, gandharvas, yakṣas, humans, asuras, and serpents has been removed.
As long as the earth endures, the worlds of gods, asuras, gandharvas, yakṣas, rākṣasas, and serpents will recount your deeds.
Having spoken thus and taking leave of Rāma, foremost among wielders of weapons, he honored him and departed in that radiant chariot.
Then Rāma, with Sītā at the forefront, accompanied by Saumitri and all the vānaras led by Sugrīva, set forth.
Establishing protection in Laṅkā, with Vibhīṣaṇa at the head, he again crossed the ocean by that bridge, abode of makaras.
Then the lord, surrounded by his chief ministers, ascended the radiant, sky-traveling Puṣpaka, which moved at his will.
There, on the shore of the ocean where that king had stayed, the righteous one dwelt together with all the vānaras.
Then Rāghava, at the proper time, summoned them, honored them, and dismissed them, fully satisfying all with jewels.
When the lords of the vānaras and the tail-bearing bears had departed, Rāma, together with Sugrīva, returned again to Kiṣkindhā.
Then, accompanied by Vibhīṣaṇa and Sugrīva, Rāma showed the forest to Vaidehī as they traveled in the Puṣpaka chariot.
Arriving at Kiṣkindhā, Rāma, foremost among warriors, installed Aṅgada, who had fulfilled his duties, in the position of crown prince.
Then, accompanied by those same companions and Saumitri, Rāma proceeded toward his own city by the path by which he had come.
Having reached Ayodhyā, the royal city, the lord of the land quickly sent Hanumān as a messenger to Bharata.
Having discerned all the signs and conveyed the joyful news to him, when the son of the wind returned, he entered Nandigrāma.
There Rāma, together with Śatrughna, saw Bharata, pure and smeared with dust, clad in bark garments, seated with the sandals placed before him, in Nandigrāma.
Then, meeting with Bharata and the valiant Śatrughna, Rāghava, along with Saumitri, rejoiced, O best of the Bharatas.
Then Bharata and Śatrughna, having met, both attained great joy upon seeing Vaidehī, together with their revered elder.
To him, Bharata, upon his return, the kingdom was entrusted with utmost honor, and the deposit was handed over with great joy.
Then, on the auspicious day under the Abhijit star, Vasiṣṭha and Vāmadeva together anointed that heroic one with the Vaiṣṇava rite.
Having been consecrated, he sent the foremost monkey, Sugrīva, along with his friends, and Vibhīṣaṇa, the descendant of Pulastya, back to their homes.
Having worshipped them with various gems, filled with affection and joy, he fulfilled what was to be done and, though with sorrow, let them depart.
And Rāghava, after honoring the aerial chariot Puṣpaka, gladly returned it to Vaiśravaṇa.
Then, accompanied by the divine sages, he performed hundreds of flawless horse sacrifices along the river Gomati.
Thus, O mighty-armed one, by Rāma of immeasurable splendor, a most severe calamity was once endured due to exile in the forest.
Do not grieve, O tiger among men; you are a Kṣatriya, scorcher of foes, and you walk the path relying on the strength of your arms, resolved with blazing determination.
Indeed, not even the slightest fault is seen in you; even the gods and demons with Indra could not oppress you on this path.
Vṛtra was slain by the Maruts and the wielder of the thunderbolt, and Namuci, difficult to conquer, with his long tongue, was also destroyed.
