He honored Dhaumya, having been saluted by the twins, and embraced the illustrious Draupadi, consoling her.
Seeing the heroic Phalguna, his dear friend returned after a long time, Dasharha embraced him again and again, subduer of foes.
Likewise, Satyabhama embraced Draupadi, the beloved wife of the Pandavas, she herself being Krishna's cherished queen.
Then all the Pandavas, with their wives and priests, worshipped the lotus-eyed one and surrounded him on all sides.
Krishna, meeting with Partha, the learned and foe-subduing Dhananjaya, shone like the great lord of beings meeting with Guha himself.
Then the diademed one, after recounting to Bhima all that had happened in the forest, inquired again about Subhadra and Abhimanyu.
The lion of the Dasharhas spoke to Dhaumya, Krishna, Yudhishthira, the twins, and Bhima: 'By good fortune, the diademed one has returned to you, joyful and accomplished in arms.'
Having duly honored the Pandavas, Krishna, and the priest, Madhusudana praised the king and sat together with Yudhishthira.
'O Pandava, righteousness is supreme, even above the gain of a kingdom; its origin, O king, is said to be in austerity. By truth and sincerity, following your own duty, you have conquered both this world and the next.'
'Having first studied and practiced vows, having thoroughly mastered the science of archery, and having acquired wealth through the warrior's law, all the ancient sacrifices have indeed been attained.'
'You have no delight in worldly ways, O king, nor do you pursue desires; nor do you abandon righteousness out of suffering or greed. Therefore, by this power, you are the king of dharma.'
'Charity, truth, austerity, patience, peace, self-control, and steadfastness—having gained kingdoms, wealth, and enjoyments, O Partha, your highest delight is always in these.'
Who but you, O Pandava, could endure seeing the land of Kurujangala taken, Krishna humiliated in the assembly, and the collapse of righteousness and justice?
Without doubt, you will soon rule your subjects with all prosperity and fulfillment; if your vow is fulfilled, then even today you may subdue the Kurus.
Krishna, the lord of the Dasharhas, together with his friends, spoke to Draupadi, daughter of Yajnasena, saying: 'You have been reunited with Dhananjaya by destiny.'
O Yajnaseni, because of Krishna's gift of skill in archery, your sons are virtuous and ever devoted to noble conduct, always practicing concentration as the good do.
O Krishna, when your sons are invited by those appointed in the kingdom, by their father, and by your brothers, they do not find pleasure in the houses of Yajnasena or their maternal uncles.
Turning towards Anarta with auspiciousness, your sons, foremost in the love of archery, enter the city of the Vrishnis, O Krishna, and do not desire the gods.
Just as you, and noble Kunti, act rightly towards them, so too does Subhadra, always acting with care and in the same way towards them.
As he is the guide and leader of Aniruddha, Abhimanyu, Sunitha, and Bhanu, so too is Rukmini's son the guide and leader of your sons, O Krishna.
In wielding mace, sword, and shield, in the arts of weapons, and in chariot and horse-driving, he properly trains the princes and Abhimanyu, always untiring.
And he, having thoroughly considered their training and properly imparted the knowledge of weapons, rejoices in the valor of your sons and Abhimanyu, O son of Rukmini.
O Yajnaseni, as your sons go out for sport, wherever each one goes, there follow chariots, vehicles, and elephants.
Then Krishna said to the king of dharma: 'Let the Dasharha warriors, the Kukuras, and the Andhakas, who obey your command, remain wherever you wish, O king.'
Let the winds of swift bows and the plough-wielding Madhus' forces, with their leaders, foot soldiers, horses, chariots, and elephants, be ready for your cause, O king.
Let Duryodhana, the foremost of evil-doers among the Dhartarashtras, be sent forth, O Pandava, along with his followers and friends, to the path of the king of Saubha and the lord of the earth.
O king, remain there as you wish, according to the agreement made in the assembly; let the Dasharha warriors, having slain the enemy's forces, await the shattered city of the Nagas.
Freed from anger and sin, enjoy yourself wherever you wish; then, full of prosperity and free from sorrow, you shall reach the Naga city and the land of the Saurashtras.
Then, understanding this counsel as spoken by the great-souled one, the king of dharma praised and considered it, and with joined palms addressed Keshava.
Without doubt, O Keshava, you are the refuge of the Pandavas; the sons of Pritha take shelter in you. In the rise of time and thereafter, you are the doer of deeds—of this there is no doubt.
